Pleasant stay
Stay booked for 1 wedding anniversary. Pleasant welcome. The common areas are modern, very beautiful and large. Our room was a good size although a little "dated" compared to the common areas. The spa is very large and offers several saunas and 3 swimming pools. Lots of deckchairs outside which is a positive point because the outdoor swimming pool and surrounding areas are very clean and tidy. The catering is excellent and the breakfast magnificent with quality dishes. Special mention for the young sommelier who takes us with him into the history of wines and who is very pleasant. Little touches of flower petals on the table and candle for dessert. Small downsides compared to the 4 *: 1 serving tray is missing in the rooms, the room is clean in the first surroundings but filaments of cobwebs on the ceiling and terrace not cleaned, lack of a handle to get out of the bathtub which is deep, an intern who refuses to give me 1 outdoor cushion on my deckchair under the pretext that it is not the right deckchair and unfortunately a waitress who smells a lot of perspiration and who spoils my excellent meal a little. (I am very sensitive to smells) This is only my assessment and not a nasty criticism, but a constructive one because as mentioned above we are in a 4* hotel with the price that goes with it.
Be the first to ReplyGOOD LOCATION
The relatively large hotel for this location, with a sizable area and lots of parking spaces, integrates perfectly into the villagescape on the hillside. The reception when someone came was rather cold and secluded and people just did and said what they had to do, rather emotionlessly and with little joy. The house, which was built in several wings and stages, also includes various styles, or rather without style and clear interior design, in a mixture of French-German-Austrian hotel construction, without clear lines and resembling a model headquarters. It's actually a shame, because the winding house would have been predestined from the outside to create something exciting, simple and interesting inside. Our room, with a beautiful view of the distance and absolutely quiet, was quite spacious, although it had already been around for a few years. The little things like body lotion, room finches, etc. were missing, but we knew that. The wellness spa pool area with the new outdoor pool made of chrome steel and the entire surrounding area is actually quite well done, but you can't be here when the house is full, because it is far too small, or the hotel is too big, especially if parts of it are not there be opened. The bar is competent, prompt and friendly. The restaurant area is very secluded. The acoustics are poor and are made worse by the lack of table culture. You eat in a “modern” and canteen-like manner on a wooden table, that’s it. The enjoyment of the food, quality and selection were limited for us and the wine prices are absolutely overpriced. We enjoyed breakfast in Obernai. I can recommend the house for a maximum of two to three nights outside of the main season and weekends, but only as a bed and breakfast.

Two days a week in the heart of OTTROTT, at the foot of Mont Saint Odile (walk to do) in this great hotel, spacious room, refined restaurant, top spa, great swimming pools and top breakfast. A cocoon that we regretfully leave. In short, a great stay to do again and again.
Be the first to ReplyThe worst quality/price ratio in Alsace
First frankly bad experience in Alsace. Dated but acceptable rooms Spa completely saturated. Impossible to have fun with this number of people. The hotel allows people from outside the hotel to enter, hence it is extremely busy. This is perhaps the municipal swimming pool in the city? the restaurant is average given the asking price. 110 euros per menu is excessive! Similar menus can be found for a maximum of 70-80 euros. When we were in line for check-out, several customers expressed their dissatisfaction….
Be the first to ReplyVery pleasant stay
Very warm welcome and hotel. The spa is very large and very pleasant. The restaurant is delicious (but quite expensive). The room was clean and spacious. We had an excellent stay there and hope to return soon. You can go there with your eyes closed.
Be the first to ReplyAddress to escape
Really disappointed with our stay A spa. crowded with people worse than a municipal swimming pool The general condition of the hotel is aging, not worthy of a 4 star When paying I indicated my dissatisfaction and I was not the only one... Response from the hotel we were full it's not our fault....for a room at 350€ per night without breakfast .... The staff is not up to 4 star standards To escape there is much better in the area on Obernai or 500 M.... The positive side.....the breakfast is good and it is very quiet
Be the first to ReplyTO BE HEAVILY AVOID!!!!!! 😡
We came for 3 p.m., we wanted to enjoy the spa, but impossible!! No place to put our towel, no place to pose, it was just crowded with people!!! INADMISSIBLE FOR SUCH A PRICE!!!! We asked the question to an employee, who told us to complain to management!! JUST SHAMEFUL!!!! So we weren't able to enjoy the SPA and rest, we went back to our room and went for a walk with our dog. Speaking of DOUBLE.... We have to pay 25€ for him... No problem of course, but when we arrive, no bowl or anything for 25€!!!!! SHAMEFUL AGAIN!!!!!!
Be the first to Replymoney before service and human relations
remember to take out insurance, my mother died 5 days before the reservation: zero sympathy for the cancellation, we offered to provide the death certificate to justify the impediment, invoicing of the entire bill.
Be the first to ReplyGreat hotel and spa
Ideal hotel for anyone looking to relax in beautiful Alsace countryside. It’s close to Obernai, close to local mountain paths and numerous vineyards. The hotel amenities are superb: spa, pools, saunas, jacuzzi. The staff at reception and the restaurant is very nice and helpful.
Be the first to ReplyGreat weekend getaway
Had the most amazing time at Hostellerie des Chateaux with my husband. Had chosen this place to celebrate my birthday. We got a room with a beautiful view into the village and the horizon. Though charged extra they were able to arrange a bouquet, a cake to make my birthday special. The service during breakfast and especially dinner was outstanding. The staff showed great attention to detail and truly made us feel welcome. Where do I start about the food?! Each day indeed was a gastronomical treat with a 4-5 course meal ranging from the most simple to complex flavours all blending in beautifully. They were so kind to accomodate my request to make a few dishes vegetarian too. We also took full advantage of the spa there which was indeed a great attraction with a lot of sauna rooms, hamama, indoor heated pools with dynamic waterjets. We felt so relaxed after this weekend and hope to make it a ritual to go here every year.
Be the first to Replyfrom adequate to repulsive in 3 brief visits
I'm a single mature female traveler traveling with 2 small well behaved dogs. I visited from nearby to use the spa and pool for 2 - 3 days. Staff was attentive in April, harried in June, inappropriate and assinine yesterday. The male manager - the son of the owner - is an entitled little prig, who has forgotten he's running what is a hotel has clearly been on a downward spiral since its prime. They haven't figured out here that fawning and demanding a certain comportment of the clientele doesn't equal service. The service was genuinely awful this time. The fawning and scraping around food - which was good but not great didnd't compensate. The physical plant - pool, spa, sauna is well done and was obviously pricey to build. It doesnt compensate for what the place actually offers.
Be the first to ReplyWay overpriced and rated
A real disappointment! The food, for the area, is well below standard. None of the employees will try to help you if you’re in need of a service, and their attitude is despicable. Do bring your own shampoo, ironing table etc, as none are available. Way overpriced, simply skip this place and go somewhere else!
