We had made a reservation for dinner and decided to go with the set menu. However, the food turned out to be quite mediocre; in fact, we can't recall any of the dishes we had, except for one course that tasted bad. We deeply regretted our decision to dine at this restaurant; the time and money spent were simply not worth it. To make matters worse, we had a very unpleasant encounter with one of the staff members responsible for reception. We were standing in the middle of the entrance room, waiting to be seated, with a line of guests behind us. A staff member approached and, with a friendly smile, apologized to the couple behind us for the long wait. Eventually, she came out again, addressed the couple behind us, and was about to seat them. However, the couple realized that we were ahead of them and asked, "What about them?" At the same time, I asked her, "Why don't you address us?" It appeared that she had overlooked our presence as the first in line, but she quickly corrected her mistake and led us to our table. This incident left us feeling as though we were invisible to that particular staff member. It's worth noting that there were two of us, both of Asian descent, while the couple behind us was white. We can't help but wonder if this played a role in her behavior. It's unfortunate that such biases may have clouded her judgment when dealing with customers, and we hope for more inclusive and respectful treatment in the future.
