Super service, amazing food
Celebrated my mom’s birthday at this restaurant and totally no regrets! The service provided by Paulyn and Xiao Liu were impeccable. They were so friendly and attentive to our needs throughout our dinner, and felt like they would go the extra mile. They even prepared a complimentary traditional Chinese “cake” (longevity baos) for my mom. The food was also very delicious. The fried rice especially was one of the best I’ve tasted! I would totally recommend anyone who wants a wonderful dining experience to come here.
Be the first to ReplyGood staff and service
Went there with friends. The food was not bad, but a lot of fried items. They put us at corridor there. It seems they squeezed place for only 2 tables. The staffs were very good.
Be the first to ReplySuperb service, excellent food
First time dining at Hua Ting for my mother’s birthday and the food lives up to the awards it’s won. What’s more, it’s staff are super polite and attentive to our needs. Special mention to manager Sophia who made our experience all the more wonderful! The dishes she recommended was spot on like the Pork Trotter Vermicelli and the hamachi. Kudos to her and her team, simple a 5 star service from them!
Be the first to ReplySuperb services in the restaurant
All good except for the dessert. Staff services was excellent. We had a fantastic CNY celebration according to the Cantonese style.
Be the first to ReplyQuality cuisine and exceptional, attentive service
We booked Hua Ting in advance before traveling to Singapore to secure our sitting. We were not disappointed. From the exotic Ferrari’s, Rolls Royce and Bentleys the CNY decorations set the expectation. Upon arrival, our host Meng was very receptive and made us feel very welcome. She introduced each dish with local knowledge and authenticity. Janet also spent much time advising us of Singapore food combinations that would make this a memorable experience. I’m sure Meng and Janet are delivering the quality service expected at The Orchard Hotel. Compliments to the chef. Thank you!

Food is average and mediocre for most. Price point typical for a restaurant. Dress code is also stupid. I've had better ducks elsewhere. Been there twice. Unimpressed twice. Outdated.
Be the first to ReplyGood Lunch and service at Hua Ting
Brought our parents to a New Year Eve Lunch in Hua Ting. Their food and services are excellent! We had a very good impression of our table server Katherine, she has gone an extra mile to take her initiatives to cut the abalone for my mum. She has also ensure our tea always filled. We definitely will be back again!
Be the first to ReplyWhile I wish I had something positive to say about this place, I can’t. I was embarrassed to the point where I left.
I arrived at the restaurant rather confused by the run down hotel it is in, the host told us that pants are required but made an exception because of the weather. We were seated at our table and a woman, likely the manager, was yelling in Chinese pointing towards us, clearly speaking about our shorts. While I can’t speak for the food, I can speak for the atrocious service. All the recent bad reviews and the absolutely filthy restaurant, full of stained chairs, ripped table napkins and poor management is clearly and indication of their future downfall.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful Food
We just had a wonderful Dim Sum lunch with some great recommendations from the staff. The staff were very attentive, especially Katherine. She was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Be the first to ReplyDecent food with mix service levels
Second time to visit Hua Ting. We were served by Alice - she recommended us to take the hairy crab menu and walked away when we wanted to ask her for some suggestions. I think there's a great room of improvement for her when it comes to customer service basic skills. We were then attended by Janet who was totally great in explaining the menu and informed us the crab menu is not available (despite it was highly recommended by Alice). Excellent services from Katherine and Ming Zu - well done. We ordered a set lunch and the food was decent. Starter with roast duck was great, followed with a simple and tasty soup. The prawn and abalone were too salty. Suggest to replace the mango dessert with red bean paste or any Cantonese desert to balance out the salt from the earlier dishes. Overall a decent experience.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent dim sum and service!
Great selection of dim sum and everything we ordered was good! Steamed dumplings, signature mango chicken tart, Peking duck fried with ee fu noodles or rice was cooked well. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyA meal is not complete without a great dessert!
Yummylicious dessert, Almond cream peach gum highly recommended by Sophia. Along with complementary cookies and mooncake to complete my dinner on this cozy raining evening. Will definitely dine back soon!!!
Be the first to ReplyQuery Michelin status, did they bribe someone? Terrible service!
How on earth did Hua Ting achieve Michelin status?! We had Peking duck, and have to say the frozen packet options from a supermarket are better. The drunken chicken was bland and insipid. The pork belly was ok but cold. Condiments were slapped on the table with no explanation and turned out to be simply mustard and wasabi. The staff, Sophia and Evon were incredibly rude. We were the last to be served despite arriving 2nd. Sophia gazed elsewhere whilst we tried to ask questions about the menu. We asked for the wine list and Sophia kept stating they did not sell by the glass. We kept advising we wished to order a bottle. Finally when we finally received the wine, it was off, which was clearly evident by the colour and confirmed by taste. They were finally a little apologetic. It seems Hua Ting do not know their business!!
Be the first to ReplyBest dim sum and service in Singapore!
Best dim sum and service in Singapore Food - 9 / 10 Ambience - 10 / 10 Service - 10 / 10 (The lady that served us was Meng Chue. She is a super nice lady who attended to all our needs!) Value - 10 / 10 (Spent about $30 per person for a top notch Sunday dim sum) Highly recommended! Go book a table now as it is hard to get one!
Be the first to ReplyMeng Chue from Hua Ting Restaurant is really one of the best servers I ever met.
Meng chue is very friendly, helpful and really a GEMs. She is also a very fast server and always very well-mannered to the guests. She actually went to the extra mile by helping us to wash my kid’s personal cutlery, even though we keep insisting we will do it ourselves. I was really shock! We never experience such excellent service before! She is definitely an excellent asset to hua ting restaurant!
Be the first to ReplySeems like a top restaurant but booking service is totally hopeless
Wanted to visit this place but called their hotline and it was outsource to some clown call centre (1) put on hold (2) customer service is inferior (3) cannot escalate poor service to anyone on weekend (seems like I am the only person to make a complain on a weekend)
Be the first to ReplyJust make sure the tea keeps flowing and it would be perfect!
Meat so tender even a 92 year old could eat with pleasure. The pepper beef cubes recommended by the maître D which was off menu melted in the mouth like wagyu but without the price tag of wagyu. Pork korubata with asparagus and peppers was also tender and the vegetables al dente. Hua Ting signature roast duck was meaty and also recommended. Duo of braised pork belly and drunken French chicken must be eaten with accompanying sauces to get maximum flavour. Ironically my father aforementioned 92 year old found the French drunken chicken too soft with insufficient bite. Mushrooms and broccolini nicely stir fried with wok hey. The diced fish in salted egg yolk was slightly crisp on the outside the fish was cooked to perfection. Appreciated the complimentary amuse bouchée of a large cherry tomato with a lemony aspic awoke the taste buds. Little petits fours of a mochi stuffed with cream and mango bits and a warm walnut cookie were well appreciated. Service was a little lacking as possibly short staffed. Restaurant was full including several private functions. Orders taken quickly and food despatched efficiently. However, tea not regularly topped up. Had to ask for dessert menu and had to go up to counter for bill. Service rescued by great tact of staff. My credit card was declined: my fault for forgetting I was skirting near limit. Son’s also declined as foreign bank issued so no discount or promotion. Cashier came to ask if anyone had one of the bank cards with on going promotions. So with husband’s UOB card we enjoyed a 15% discount. We had a really enjoyable evening: cheerful reminder by email about reservation yesterday, polite reminder by phone today, good table in private corner with view, super recommendations from maître D, good food and rounded with happy hiccup at the end. My father remarked that we used to patronise Hua Ting when it first opened and there were some changes but all for the better. So we look forward to going again before as long a gap.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent to good
First visit, the poached duo rice, lobster meat was good. My second best place for 泡 飯,quality coming quite close to my no. 1. The stewed hand made fish noodles, live prawn, wow! it was really good, almost a perfect dish, my best ever plate of prawns with noodles. I was pretty lucky this time, the chef got everything right and delivered a bomb to me, it took me a few days to recover from it. Second visit, one week after the first. The smoked Peking duck was just okay, a bit disappointed. The poached duo rice, grouper fish was almost good. Rather interesting out of 4 dishes, 3 of them are under chef recommendation and 1 is not and turned out to be the best. Nice ambience and good customer service
Be the first to ReplyKudos to Service Staff
Second time here with mom to celebrate Mother's Day. Food was amazing as the first time. Dishes we ordered were run of the mill dim sum dishes yet the chefs weaved their own modern flair into such traditional fares. But rarely do you get service staff as warm and friendly as Meng Chue. She was affable and genuine in her interactions with us. Giving us good personal recommendations and serving us with the most genuine of smiles. We would be back for not just the food, but for such impeccable service.
Be the first to ReplyTheir star ala carte dishes are excellent!!
This evening we ordered ala carte, for a change. Because someone had been before and was severely craving for the fish in fish soup with charred rice in stone bowl - it was not in any of the set menus. And she’s right - this was one of my favourite dishes for the evening: the raw fish was cooked right before our eyes as the soup was poured into the hot stone bowl. It was excellent!! The other jaw dropper of the evening was the crab meat in crab shell with a yummy crust on top. It was unspeakably superb. Of note was also the deconstructed bak kut teh: a large tender pork rib roasted to perfection, followed by a delectable not-so-herbal soup served the traditional way. Good but somewhat mediocre were Peking duck and the chopped duck meat in cabbage. An impressive dessert set was given with compliments at the end, after we placed our own orders for dessert (!). A most enjoyable and unforgettable experience, save for the ambience - rather noisy, and the music was Western and rather loud. For me, the table was a tad small for four but That’s nothing they can do about it, now.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome Pre-celebration Birthday Dinner
At the very last minute, did our reservation booking for today. Sophia recommendation for the cold crab, mustard green, and other dishes is awesome. Thank you for the awesome service from the team and Sophia recommendations. I definitely will come again for the dim sum. Dear Chef, your cooking is really impressive. Keep it up. Thumbs up to the whole team. 👍🏻
Be the first to ReplyHappy Place. Great Food and Service.
Tomorrow is my birthday and lunch at Hua Ting is a great start to the celebrations. As always the food is exquisite and pleasing to all senses. Thanks to manager Sophia for her warm and welcoming hospitality. I recommend Hua Ting unreservedly. 5 stars.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding service by Sophia
We come here often and as usual Sophia’s service is outstanding. She will patiently introduce us the dishes, highlighting what we have not tried previously. Dining at Hua Ting is not the same when Sophia is not on duty. Her service coupled with good food is the reason for my repeat visit
