Idylio by Apreda Roma Reviews from The Last Year
Beautiful restaurant and food
Our party of 2 had a very good meal at this Michelin rated restaurant. We had the 4 four course a la carte meal which was so much food with all of the little extras. The restaurant was very accommodating since one in our party had dietary restrictions and the staff and kitchen worked around these restrictions. All of the food was of the labor intensive kind both in preparation and presentation. The presentations were spectacular. The wait staff was friendly and efficient and explained each course. The night we were there, the restaurant wasn’t very busy but I would expect that with the number of staff even on busy evenings the staff would serve you very well. Even though the restaurant policy prefers that the entire party all have the same dishes, the kitchen accommodated us allowing us to order different options for the appetizers and another course. It was all excellent. We had the delicious duck for our main course. There is also a fixed tasting menu. I only rated the restaurant four stars because of the limitation of having to order the same courses. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. It is a special occasion expensive experience.

Frankly, at €160 per head plus extras this place falls extremely short. My primary grievance is that the service is glacially slow and disappointing. We did not see our first course until 85 minutes after we sat down. I dined with a young person so this was abusive. In contrast, tables seated after us were 2 courses in before we got our first one. Unexplainable! We pointed out the slow service. They couldn't care less. Wine service was about 75% correct. Not ideal in a Michelin 1 Star. The food was very hit or miss. We had 3 dishes that simply were poor and bordering on inedible. That is half the menu! Again they shrugged at our feedback. Lastly, the portion size is troubling. For example, 5 pieces of macaroni or a spoonful of angel hair. See pictures. I suspect they live off the Michelin star and focus on tourists who they know will never return. A terrible way to spend 3.5 hours and $800 in Rome. Avoid at all costs!
Horrible Experience and Waste of Time

Deserving of a second star
Among the Michelin star restaurants I tried in Rome, Idylio is certainly a personal favorite and the first one I would decide to return to. In a location that alone is worth the trip we chose the Idylio's butterfly menu, adding two dishes to the selection. The dining room staff gave us excellent advice, personalizing the menu according to our tastes without affecting the chef's vision. Some dishes, including the breaded scallop and the buffalo mozzarella dessert, are true masterpieces that also deserve a second star. Absolutely unmissable.
Our First Michelin Restaurant
The title says it all-- first time Michelin starred diners. Therefore, I certainly feel that this might be something of an uninformed review. Two couples, one in the 60's and the other late 30's enjoyed a 'meal of a lifetime.' We were there for Valentine's Day and the menu was special for it. All four of us were absolutely dazzled by the food, its presentation, the atmosphere, attentiveness by wait-staff, and the ingenuity of all the dishes. Though the menu detailed 7 or 8 courses, we received almost that many again as accompaniment. None of us thoroughly enjoyed all of the dishes. But at least two of the four thoroughly enjoyed each dish that was presented. All of us had at least 10 courses that we raved about. To us, the idea that a restaurant of this type can be listed along with any other for reviews is simply preposterous. Perhaps there should be a unique review site for the absolutely premier establishments of the world.
Great dinner at Idylio
We had a wonderful dinner here, we had one of the tasting menus with the wine pairings. The staff were very good and friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. It was notable that most of the staff were younger than you might expect, and it was great to see how knowledgable and passionate they were about the food. The style of the food was great, really simple ingredients, but beautifully done, often with an Asian influence. At the end of the dinner the chef was kind enough to come out and speak to us. We would highly recommend.
Choosing a show or a taste is the question.
I tried the 6-course tasting menu. The food presentation was nice and the staff were friendly so it was a pleasant experience, but the taste of the food wasn't my style. I could sometimes taste Indian spices, and I felt like there was Japanese influence in the plating and ingredients, but the attempt to create new food by mixing ingredients adopted from other cultures is commendable. The concept of fusion food is very ambiguous. The concept is good, but the taste is disappointing.
You can think of the second star
A dinner that borders on perfection. We chose the 4-course menu and everything, from the amuse-bouche to the small pastries, was a success. He always maintains a balance between Mediterranean flavors and oriental spices and each course is a surprise. The place is very elegant and the service is accurate. Successful wine pairing. Definitely coming back when the seasons change
Michelin worthy meal near the Pantheon
A truly memorable meal worthy of Michelin recognition. We were celebrating a birthday and our last evening in Rome and could not have hoped for better. A location next to the Pantheon was an added benefit as we were also staying at the Pantheon Iconic Hotel where the restaurant is located. You might also consider a pre-dinner drink on the hotel's roof-top terrace with its wonderful view
Well deserved star!
Suggestive location, right in the center of Rome, a stone's throw from the Pantheon. Exquisite food, unusual and special combinations. Extremely attentive and courteous waiters. Prices in line with other restaurants of this level. One of the best starred ones I've tried!
Bizarre place
This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Italy at the supposed level. Good was frankly terrible. At the price you should have thought at least one dish might be nice. Fish wasn’t cooked correctly. Was either dry or tasted fishy. The head waiter was pushy and over bearing. Including not knowing his wines. Have no idea what they think they’re doing.

My husband & I traveled to Rome and wanted to go to a Michelin star restaurant and this has been our favorite so far. The service was spectacular, we loved the vibes, and we enjoyed every single dish (which isn't common for us with these experiences). We chose the Iconic signature dinner and did most of what the server recommended with some adjustments. They also brought out several surprise dishes, which were all delightful! At the end of our meal the chef came out to greet each table individually which was a nice touch. Would absolutely recommend this place.
Bravo!
This is likely the best meal we have ever eaten….and we dine out a lot! The array of flavors, textures, and combinations were simply outstanding. The wine pairing was well done. Finally, the service was impeccable. Can’t wait to go back!
Amazing experience.
One of the best Michelin stars I've been too. Service from Anna was excellent and food was amazing . Mixture of Italian, Indian and Japanese kitchen .
