Antrim House: A Tale of Contrasts
Dear fellow travelers, gather 'round as I recount my sojourn at the illustrious Antrim House—a tale of opulence, intrigue, and breakfast woes. Act I: The Grand Arrival Upon crossing the threshold, I was greeted by a room that whispered elegance. The decor, meticulously curated, each detail a symphony of taste, left me breathless. The bed, a cloud of dreams; the drapes, cascading like silken waterfalls. Verily, the room was well presented, a canvas awaiting my delight. Act II: The Temptress of Bubbles Ah, the pièce de résistance—the hot tub! Nestled on the balcony, it beckoned with promises of relaxation. I disrobed, slipped into its warm embrace, and gazed out upon the world. But alas! The view was no serene vista; it was a bustling street, a parade of humanity. The glass railing, a flimsy veil, offered scant privacy. As I soaked, I pondered life’s ironies: luxury juxtaposed with voyeurism. Act III: The Breakfast Fiasco Morning dawned, and my stomach sang an aria of anticipation. “Breakfast awaits!” they proclaimed. I descended to the dining hall, visions of culinary delights dancing in my head. Alas, reality struck—a £20 per person affair that left me flabbergasted. What did it entail? A meager offering: cereal and breads. Behold, the crescendo of disappointment! I yearned for eggs benedict, smoked salmon, a symphony of pastries. Instead, I received a sonnet of simplicity. Epilogue: A Melancholic Sonata Antrim House, you are a paradox—a siren luring with plush beds and bubbling waters, yet withholding the morning feast of champions. As I departed, I cast a wistful glance at the glass railing, my secrets laid bare to passersby. Fare thee well, Antrim House. May your breakfasts bloom, your hot tubs shield, and your guests find solace in the echoes of their discontent. Feel free to adjust or embellish further, and may your future travels be filled with both delight and hearty breakfasts!

10/10 stay at Antrim house. This suite is charming and beautifully decorated, impeccably clean and the host has thought of all the details. A full breakfast basket was left for our stay, including fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, pastries and cereal. The hot tub on the balcony was just what we needed after 8 busy days of vacation. I would recommend this stay over and over again!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic stay in Antrim House
We stayed in Antrim house for a last minute get away last week. The contact with information and directions from Janice was great. The location is perfect and so central in Portrush! The accommodation is spotlessly clean. We were in one of the lodges with a jacuzzi and it was perfect. We will definitely be back!

We were a little hesitant booking it, slightly put off by the lack of hot cooked breakfast, the fact that it was not listed as a hotel and the fact that there appeared to be no reception/ welcome. Well, we couldn’t be more wrong, it was outstanding, so much so, I decided to write a review having stopped it years ago. The lady who owns it is a beautiful warm helpful caring person, you don’t ever get this from the big chains. The room was absolutely spotless, the breakfast was very enjoyable and much more than adequate. We had a class hot tub that we enjoyed. Quite simply, it couldn’t be better, we couldn’t recommend it more. Finding car park entrance is difficult. Well done and thank you, to the owners and staff of Antrim House

Fantastic stay for my birthday weekend! They even allowed us to check in early as we were working remotely the day of arrival. Fantastic suite - all of the amenities in a stylish, gorgeous room. Very quite but wonderful location in the center of town! Would absolutely stay here again!
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best places you’ll ever stay
I booked this for a last minute getaway on my own to get some rest/relaxation and thankfully they had space - it was one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. The suite was in the grounds of the main B and B but had its own access/door. It was sparking clean, very modern and gave off a luxurious vibe. Breakfast was in a lovely basket with everything you could have wanted. Literally everything had been thought of and I loved staying. The bonus was a hot tub (and sunshine) in a quiet outdoor area which was private and just for my room. Check in and out was easy and I knew how to make contact with someone should I have needed. I will definitely be back and wish I had known about it before now.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent location, excellent host, excellent lodging
There are several positives to this BnB. 1) Host was very proactive in communicating with me, before and during my stay. 2) without any notification, the owner was not full, so she upgraded me for free. 3) best bathroom facilities i had in Ireland. The shower was the only one i was never concerned about slipping in. 4) cleanliness. 5) excellent location, right in center of city. I have no negatives. It was a breeze to stay there.

Beautiful stylish accommodation right in the centre of Portrush. These apartments are the hight of sofistication and good taste. The location is excellent, they are exceptionally clean and the decor is right on point. We were initially disappointed to learn that a continental breakfast was supplied in room, as we had booked bed and breakfast so we're expecting a cooked breakfast. However the quality and variety of breakfast items supplied to us was excellent, we had everything from fresh juice, fresh fruit, meats and cheeses to Danish pastries. I would have no hesitation in recommending Antrim House and will definitely return.

Great location, within walking distance to beach and town. Wonderful room with all amenities. Grand breakfast. Really comfortable bed with soft fluffy pillows and a garden view. Janice was a wonderful hostess, very accommodating and helpful.
Be the first to ReplyA delightful night in Portrush
The apartment we stayed in was beautiful but functional as well. It had a balcony with a lovely view of the Town. There was a mini fridge and microwave (we didn’t need it but could be useful if you did). The entire apartment looked almost brand new and had a wonderful bathroom. The bed and bedding were exceedingly comfortable

If I could give Antrim House 10 🌟's, I would! Janice runs the most perfectly charming B&B. Everything, from my pristine room with all facilities I could wish for - and very attentive staff - as well as Janice herself, not to mention the beautiful breakfast room with a sea view and, on the subject of breakfast, all I can say is it's the best I've ever had! Thank you, Janice!

Central location. Our room overlooked the east strand beach and also down towards the train station. Our room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. Breakfast in our room was well presented and a nice touch. Car parking on site too. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

One block from the sea, within walking distance of the town’s restaurants and shops, very centrally located. There is a parking lot. There is a main building that is Victorian and quaint in décor, but two separate buildings that are very modern. We had booked a family room and they put us in room 12, in the separate building. It was basically an apartment. There were long stairs from the entry way and another door that led into a sizable living room with couch, dinette table for 2 coffee table, flat screen TV and then a kitchenette with small refrigerator, kettle, microwave and sink. Utensils, plates, bowls, toaster, dish liquid were included. No pots and pans, and there is no cooktop. Bedroom with king size bed and a TV. Bathroom had a very large walk-in shower with both a rain shower and handheld. Living room had a very comfortable pull-out couch. The apartment was beautiful, but the wow was the huge terrace spanning the full length of the apartment with doors from both the living room and bedroom. There were four or five lounge chairs with thick cushions and glass walls on the terrace. The front of the apartment was floor to ceiling glass sliding doors, so the apartment was very bright, and the terrace fronted the town square or intersection, and you could see over the harbor and shops. Absolutely beautiful. The owner was very friendly. We preordered breakfast and you could either eat in the breakfast room, or have it delivered to your room. Breakfast options were everything from a full Irish to porridge, yogurt and fruit to eggs and bacon. A wonderful stay and very highly recommended. Close to restaurants, beach, as in 1-4 minute walk.

Great wee place. Plenty of space to move around. Although there wasn't a bath, the rain shower was lovely We opted for breakfast in the dining area, the choices were fab, the service was excellent. Would have no hesitancy to recommend.

Stayed just for one night but was so tempted to stay for a second!!! We were given a choice of room in their new modern building. Decided to take up the free upgrade. It was just wonderful! Some tweaks still needed - struggled to get electric blind to work, bath mat didn’t fit under shower door and no where to hang a second wet towel but minor complaints in what is a wonderful suite! My only real advice would be to improve pictures. Many pictures look really old fashioned when in fact in the main building it isn’t old fashioned just old and beautiful!! I almost didn’t book it because of the pictures and that would have been a huge mistake!!! Wonderful breakfast delivered to our room the next morning though could have eaten in dining room.

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst we explored the Antrim coast and went to a wedding. Excellent rooms and more importantly excellent staff who even rushed out to get us some marmite/Earl Grey and -decaf coffee :-) 11/10 for service. We are not BIG breakfast people however, I recommend to toast and fruit salad (plus we took some with us for lunch!) With a 2 min walk to the beach this is a great location and only 10 minutes from a outstanding Causeway Coastline. Wish we could stay longer (next time??) Mrs Doyle from Father Ted was definitely based on Janice - look after the Marmite we'll need it next time. Thanks again for a great stay.
