The service: Friendly and attentive The food: Fantastic!! The 'check': very affordable and quite reasonable I had a halibut dish that was one of the best I've ever enjoyed This seems to me a place that 'locals' probably frequent regularly. The ambience is a comfortable, family type environment without any pretentiousness. It's a little out of town but there is no compromise in the food quality or service. If you're not a tourist, this is probably one of your regular ' go to' choices. Even if you are a tourist, you will be pleasantly surprised by how wonderful this restaurant is.

I've gone back several times when in Napa on business and I am never disappointed at this local neighborhood spot. Bar area was a little crowded on my second trip but they sat me at a table anyway even though I was solo. Delicious classic Italian!
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding Italian food.
We had a party of 10 for a small company party.. Ordered apps for whole table and everything and everyone was thought it was excellent. Service was first class. Their sauces tasted like homemade. Small place with a family feel. Will come again next time visiting Napa.

Well, this place is awesome! It's nice having a good restaurant in Napa that isn't trying to charge Michelin-star prices for what amounts to very good food! My wife suggested this spot and we had dinner on a Tuesday night - and it was packed! I was going to make fun of her for the reservation but it was warranted! We started the meal with the Arancini and Garlic bread, both of which we perfect. The arancini were light and not over-stuffed with flavors, sitting on some of the best marinara sauce I've ever had. The garlic bread didn't stand a chance and was also some of the best garlic bread I have had in some time. We split the chicken parm and the rigatoni and meatballs, and both were delightful. Under 100 bucks (before tip) for a top-notch dinner for two in Napa, we will be back to try more of this menu! Andy the bartender was a delight, stop in to see him for a drink!

Didn't like that we had to sit outside, helped there was a heater. Had reservations but we changed it to earlier so i could understand if that's all that was available. Hubby was not happy. However, his mood quickly changed after they brought out the fried olives I ordered. He was blown away by the fried olives, stuffed with sausage. I've had it before at Scala Osteria, minus the sausage. I liked the polenta more. Andy was great, very friendly, passionately agreed with all the yummy items we ordered. Quite a few servers asked us how we were doing throughout the course of our dinner which was great but my fault for not asking about the bread they never brought out. Would've been great to dip in the creamy pesto from the gnocchi. We ordered dessert to go. Tiramisu and Panna cotta. Would definitely be back! Very accessible, easy onsite parking unlike dwtn. They share the lot with a General store.

This feels like a local trattoria and they are happy to have you join them for a wonderful meal. Lovely wines by the glass and delicious homemade pasta.

It's a rare and wonderful thing to find a restaurant that welcomes you as you enter, seats you with a kind waiter (Ivan), has a touching message on the front of the menu from the owner about his pride and purpose and aim to please, serves piping hot delicious food, cares for you by checking in often, plays classic Italian music, and gives you a genuine cozy experience top to bottom. Very rare when it fires 5 stars on each and every cylinder.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a very special place.
Cozy intimate interior. Outstanding service. Delicious fried olives started us out followed by a Caesar salad and delicious pasta. We ended the meal with tiramisu and an affogato. Memorable meal

My husband and I have eaten here twice about a year apart from each dining experience. The cuisine is divine to say the least. Pleasant atmosphere, and attentive staff make this restaurant a joy to return when we visit the Napa area.

Great customer service, old school ambiance, and so-so on the food. When I looked and saw 4 stars, and located in Napa, I thought I couldn't go wrong. Service was great. Unfortunately, the food didn't match. The appetizers fooled me, starting with the "stuffed" olives. The olives are so small, I don't see how you can stuff anything inside. Then, we ordered the Calamari. The portion size was also so small for the price, it looked like the staff took a portion off the plate before serving. The Arancini tasted store bought and warmed up. The Ceasar Salad had no flavor at all. We should've left after appetizers, but decided to stay for dinner because of the rain. We ordered Lasagna and Pesto Gnocchi with shrimp. The Lasagna had no flavor at all, and I was so disappointed I had to send it back. I got a $26 pizza instead. Smh. The gnocchi could've been a lot better. The demographic they cater to is a much older crowd, folks that may not be able to have seasoning in their food. That considered, The service was the only thing good about this visit.

Bread was good. Rest of the food was decent for the prices. We had lasagna, meat pasta, and Italian sub. I ordered a Caesar salad but the server forgot to bring it. What bothered my most is that the ceiling was so full of dust I worried about it falling in my food. It really looks like it has been neglected for a while. I debated posting this but it really bothered me.

I came to Il Posto Trattoria with my sister and brother-in-law for happy hour the other week. They're Napa locals and recommended this place.Happy Hour is every day from 3:30-5:30pm. House wine and well drinks are $8 and beer is $4. For the appetizers, my sister and I shared the calamari $11 and mac and cheese $10. The food was good but even for happy hour, the calamari portion was a bit small. My brother-in-law got the Pizza Margherita and beer combo $24, I got to try some of the pizza and it was pretty good. It's a cute local Napa restaurant good for Italian food and drinks.
Be the first to ReplyDinner was excellent.
The food, wine, and service were excellent, with one exception which is why I can't give it 5 stars. The meyer lemon cheesecake didn't have hardly any lemon flavor to it. Tasted like plain cheesecake, which was a bummer because my wife was really looking forward to having lemon flavor with the very good raspberry sauce.

Nice neighborhood restaurant with good food and friendly service. Ample parking. You won't be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful staff and food! Fresh pasta.
..need I say more?! A fantastic, small Italian spot with great portion sizes and a great dining experience. The eggplant parmigiana, burrata, and Il Posti garlic bread made the perfect pre race meal. Staff were friendly, attentive, and went over the top to make sure food allergies in our group were followed (they helped make his own pasta creation without dairy!). It was a busy Friday night, but the casual, cozy decor and vibe was a welcoming feel.

Amazing food. Our server Andy was great. A little pricey but we'll worth the great experience. We will be back again.
Be the first to ReplyCozy little bistro with great service and good food.
Nothing fancy, but down-home Italian eating. The pizza was yummy and our Chicken Parmigiana was perfectly cooked, served with house-made thick pasta. The pasta was good, but a little soggy and the sauce not too exciting. Our green salad was delicious and plentiful. I would eat there again!
Be the first to ReplyFood not that great.
The carbonara didn't have enough cheese and seemed just like whipped yolk as the sauce.
Be the first to ReplyEverything was the best I've had.
Service was exceptional- so personable. High quality, reasonable price. Different takes on Italian classics, fresh homemade pasta, great wine. Will absolutely be back.
Be the first to ReplyNeighborhood gem.
Very cozy and quaint restaurant with dim lighting and small sit up bar. Establishment can hold a few large families but I imagine you need to call for a reservation. We called the restaurant to make a reservation yesterday. We were here over the Presidents Weekend and enjoyed the warm old world Italian feel of this establishment. The old world charm and comfort food menu is just perfect when you need to feel cozy and nostalgic. Brenda our waitress is an A+ waitress. Warm friendly and knows the house's best dishes and wines! Great suggestions from appetizer, salad, entrees, to dessert. Great service is not easy to train in team members at restaurants today so bravo to the whole team for rallying together to make every diner patron feel special. If you could cook at home you certainly can but if you want to be a pampered guest of honor you go to your favorite restaurant ... and this neighborhood gem does its part! We will be back. We loved our dishes tonight. 1. Chicken parm 2. Filet of sole 3. Panna cotta 4. Caesar salad We recommend every dish ! Neighborhood gem.
