Good ramen, quite salty honestly, and the broth is not as comforting as something like Ichiran. Noodles are good, the egg was a bit overcooked for my preference. It is not expensive here and you get a sort of contemporary cool-kid ramen, so don't expect something traditional. If you like spicy ramens this is a good place to be.
Ippudo, established in Fukuoka, Japan in 1985, has become
Ippudo, established in Fukuoka, Japan in 1985, has become synonymous with top-tier tonkotsu ramen. Known for its rich, creamy broth that simmers for hours, Ippudo delivers a depth of flavor that has captivated a global audience. As the chain expanded internationally, it preserved its hallmark: a blend of traditional techniques and contemporary flavors served in a sleek, modern setting. Today, Ippudo restaurants around the world continue to draw ramen enthusiasts eager to experience its signature dishes and warm, welcoming atmosphere. The karaka spicy was just mediocre. The noodles were very chewy but the broth was more spicy than flavorful. The takoyaki was one of the worst I tasted. Felt like a ball of flour. What we ordered: Karaka Spicy 3.5/5 Takoyaki 2.5/5
Went to Ippudo with my boyfriend yesterday for a dinner.
We ordered the miso pork ramen, the vegetarian miso ramen, and potatoes. The potatoes were amazingly crispy, some of the best I've had. My vegetarian ramen was fantastic. The service was great, very informative on timing of our dishes coming out. Ambience was dim lit and perfect for a date night. Only note that there is a ton of oil in the broth, so watch out for that! It tastes amazing for a reason.
Stopped by for late dinner.
Ramen was flavorful but VERY salty, I do like the ramen consistency which is firm and chewy. The ramen is fairly spicy. The takoyaki was horrible. The texture was very doughy with only one small piece of octopus inside. It was as if they didn't put in the effort to make it or just heated it up as premade. If you're getting an appetizer def try something else on the menu.
I know Ippudo is a very popular place, but I don't really
I know Ippudo is a very popular place, but I don't really see the major hype. It felt like a pretty typical ramen place, but with slightly more gimmicks. We came on a weekday night with no reservation, and were almost immediately seated. We sat at the bar, so it was nice seeing the chefs prepare the food. Whenever someone walks into the dining room, the entire staff yells to welcome them in. It was fun the first few times, but got old pretty quickly. The service was very good, and I don't really have any comments there. The restaurant is definitely well decorated and has a nice vibe. As far as the food goes, the appetizers were amazing, but the ramen not so much. If the apps were an 8, I'd say the ramen was more like a 5 or 6. It felt like an oddly small portion, but by no means insufficient -- I'm just used to ramen positions usually being huge. Mine was also strangely oily. All in all, I'd say Ippudo would be a nice place to go if you're looking for ambiance, service, and an overall nicer experience, but if you're looking for amazing ramen, I think you'd be better off elsewhere.
Our entire experience was phenomenal! I do not like
Our entire experience was phenomenal! I do not like ramen, but I tagged along with my husband and our friends because they all love ramen. Our friend ordered an Ippudo Veggie Bun for each of us (we're all vegetarian) which he raved about and boy, was he right!! I'd never had one of these before but now I'm excited to come back to this restaurant, just so I can eat more of these!! I had two of them and some edamame while everyone else enjoyed their ramen. They have 3 vegetarian ramen options for those who want to enjoy ramen without having to worry about meat. Apparently they recently changed their menu as our friend's favorite ramen is no longer on the menu, but all of the ramen eaters at my table really enjoyed what they ordered! The ambience is low lighting with beautiful decor throughout the restaurant. The service was excellent! We were quickly taken care of by the friendly staff. Also, they have a very unique way of greeting guests as they are being seated! I won't spoil it, but will instead tell you to try this place to find out for yourself!

Four of us had lunch here today; first visit for three in the crowd. Beautiful restaurant, outstanding service, terrific flavors....always one of my favorites in the city! We had a scheduling issue due to weather & traffic; they were very accommodating....love the place!
Ah, Ippudo--the perennial favorite of ramen enthusiasts and
Ah, Ippudo--the perennial favorite of ramen enthusiasts and noodle novices alike. With its inviting ambience and hip bar vibes, it's easy to see why this place draws a crowd. But as any seasoned critic knows, looks can be deceiving. As a repeat visitor to Ippudo, I was hoping for redemption after a lackluster first experience. Alas, lightning didn't strike twice, and once again, I found myself in the throes of disappointment. Let's start with the Karaka Spicy--a dish that promised an added kick to Ippudo's signature tonkotsu broth. But alas, the egg on my face wasn't from the spice; it was from the lukewarm reception my taste buds received. The chashu, touted as a highlight, fell flat with its dry and chewy texture, leaving me longing for the tender embrace of a properly cooked pork belly. The Dreaming of You cocktail offered a glimmer of hope--a refreshing blend of IICHIKO SHOCHU and lemon sour that provided a welcome respite from the culinary letdown that preceded it. But alas, even the most tantalizing libations couldn't erase the taste of disappointment lingering on my palate. In the end, Ippudo left me torn. While I'm a big fan of the ambience and friendly service, I can't in good conscience overlook the lackluster performance of the star attraction: the ramen. Perhaps I'm missing something, or maybe I'm just not the target audience. But for now, I'll be taking my noodle cravings elsewhere, in search of a bowl that truly satisfies.

This place is just *mouth waters* Absolute MUST if you're a ramen lover. The vibes are unmatched. The food is amazing! The drinks were fun. And the service was wonderful! My husband and I visit this place each time we are in NY.
If you go to NYC, don't miss it!
Excellent experience! Every time we go to NYC we visit it. The ramen is unmissable! Make your reservation in advance, because it is so good that it is always full. Excellent service and atmosphere too
Not Authentic
Not authentic. Not for a real ramen lover. What’s happened to IPPUDO? It used to be good. Totally changed. It’s not the place to experience real Japanese ramen.
Such a bad experience…
What a disappointment! We had read some good reviews and we were expecting a nice eating experience with the family while visiting NY. We were not into the mood of ramen and we chose ribs teriyaki, tempura rolls, gyoza and chicken Kara-Age with and without rice. All our dishes were off taste and we left most of it although we were pretty hungry. As a last surprise, we were automatically charged of 20% tip by default! Just to complete the bad experience, my wife felt sick at night with the food she ate at this terrible place. We are usually not so critical, but this experience left definitively a mark…
Dependable and tasty place
We went for a pre theatre early dinner. We were a group of tour - had the must-have buns - with pork and with shrimp both were great. One sushi roll and three different ramens completed a very satisfying dinner
THE GIST: Ill-ease from loss of appetite from the obvious cattle mentality your treat customers with generic-for-profit
This review is about the Ippudo east side, trip advisor does not list this particular restaurant so suffice this review to mean Ippudo on Broadway in the east village... THE GIST: Ill-ease from loss of appetite from the obvious cattle mentality your treat customers with generic-for-profit slop There will be apoint very soon into your meal where you genuinely question your feeling of ill-ease coming from either eating too much or from losing your appetite. This could be coming from either the unprofessional use of the "F"-word by the personnel behind the bar counter reverberating around the dining room in plain sight and earshot of customers...or your instincts telling you to leave immediately may be coming from the fact that this place lacks any true "Japanese" sense in any aspect of a dining experience; sight (not one Japanese person working there that I could see anywhere...It's obvious the employees don't even like working their as blase and robotic personalities saturate each employee...this tells one quite a bit if you think a little about the reasons that a Japanese person would not want to work in Ippudo), sound was a cacophony of fake welcoming of patrons that lacked any depth of genuine "welcome", taste the pedantic and generic lack of quality in every single item on that menu, smell the air that reeks of generic-for-profit-lack of quality...and touch the side dish toppings for the ramen such as the pork and spinach and you'll be touching stale toppings that not one Japanese ramen restaurant I have been in while I lived in Japan would ever consider allowing to be a representative of their food. But GO! And spend the $100 for 2 to experience this bogus, cheap rouse yourself...but one thing to think of: The original owner, not knowing where they are eating would never return...And I END with THIS WARNING: Later after dinner you will be walking and you will be left with the remains of a very unsatisfied full feeling.
Miss the old place…
Sad because this used to be one of our favorite restaurants in NYC. Service has slowed tremendously. Rude behavior from workers. Prices doubled from what we remember. Noodles over done for the first time ever. Feels like a totally different place and now I’m scared to ever go back. Took 10 mins for a server to greet us. Had to ask twice for a paper menu. Anyway…I guess I’m venting. LOL
Nice food but give a tip or don’t came again
Nice food and good service only tip. Otherwise they need your visit . And don’t want you in the restaurant . I choose to give no tip and I was tell right away that I am not welcome in the restaurant . I should order the next time . To bad. Good food , a nice host . But the employee that give us the bill was rude and shouldn’t work in a restaurant
Ramen in Midtown
Great ramen in the heart of Midtown. We had the opportunity to try three different ramen, all with excellent flavors and combinations. Be careful, spicy ramen is really for taste lovers 🌶️🌶️🌶️ I recommend going early (before 9am). They brought us the bill and quickly cleared the table to ask us to leave.
No gluten free options
In the description it says that they have gluten-free options, they had, THEY NO LONGER HAVE. I crossed half the city to have a gluten-free ramen because Tripadvisor says they have gluten-free options, and I was left wanting. Thanks to the waiters who served me, they were very attentive and tried to help me with everything so I could eat something. It should not appear that they have gluten-free options, so that more people do not make mistakes.
Excellent Asian restaurant
A nice surprise on a side street in NY, delicious Asian dishes, beautifully presented, good and efficient service, fair prices, highly recommended

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it? |
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
Newbie sellers— how fast do your reservations sell?
I have some reservations coming up tomorrow that have gotten lots of views but haven’t sold yet. I haven’t made a sale yet since I just joined this week. I keep lowering the price, but am worried they won’t sell. How long did it take you to sell your first reservations? And did you have success being reimbursed by AT for no-show or cancellation fees? Just looking for a little reassurance. Thanks!

How to list a Nobu Malibu reservation
Hi, I have a reservation to Nobu Malibu, but since they don't do text or e-mail confirmations I haven't been able to get my reservation posted. I posted a request for a reservation this Thursday between 6:30 and 8 pm and initially the potential seller said it would be fulfilled by today. Now they changed it that they will only fulfill it by 5pm that same day. Basically I would have an hour and a half to get to the restaurant. Is this allowed?

This app is a catfish and overrun by people programming “bots” and algorithms. It makes it frustrating for someone not well versed in this to have any movement. I thought this would be a fun side hustle, but unfortunately it’s become like any other “side hustle”. Don’t waste your time with this crap. Not a question, just a suggestion. Also don’t pay these fake “gurus” hundreds of dollars to teach you. Might as well sign up for a software class. 😕
