Better Korean sashimi and raw seafood places in flushing.
Set menu comes with many dishes, live fish option brings out fresh from tank seafood. Mostly Korean clientele, but don't let that stop you. Recently updated, wider and cleaner. Maybe diff management? For price of an overpriced omekase in the city, feed two or three along with soju. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend u come in and order the lunch special sets. This place is my number one for sushi now.

Koean sushi place Flushing NY Took out sushi 16 pieces and california roll for $50. The fish were fresh but too thinnly sliced. The menu had lunch and dinner sushi sashimi boxes for Monday thru Friday, live fish sashimi and sushi sashimi combos which comes with other Korean seafood dishes. Like to try them next time in Flushing.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was fantastic.
I really can't begining to say how much I enjoyed it. I got the sashimi and seafood special for 2, soju and terra beer. We got soooo many delicious side dishes and I was definitely full by the time I left
Be the first to ReplyTLDR: Jeju is a great spot if you're looking for Korean
TLDR: Jeju is a great spot if you're looking for Korean style sushi/sashimi. Stick with a fresh fish combo to avoid having to think and get a full tasting experience. Personally I like the flue. Stopped in for a Friday group dinner and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked everything. The pre tax/tip came out to around $45 per person which I thought was quite reasonable. The side dishes were all pretty enjoyable but what I really liked was the sashimi was sliced super thin. This made it easy to enjoy with the dip of fermented bean paste, garlic, sesame oil and chilis. There was a good chew to the fish but not requiring too much work. It's tough to describe in words but this was a meal that I've remembered quite fondly since dining there. Will definitely be hitting up it for dinner again soon.
Be the first to ReplyI came on a Saturday for my dad's birthday and it was empty
I came on a Saturday for my dad's birthday and it was empty besides one or two other tables. I'm not really head over heels for Korean hwe but my parents wanted it so this is what we opted for. We got the combo that serves 3 people for the 4 of us and it was enough for us. They serve a lot of different small dishes and the entire portion was great. One of them included raw oysters and I freaking love raw oysters but the ones they served were a bit fishy. I still ate two anyway thinking it wasn't too bad. WRONG. I ended up getting the worst food poisoning of my life a day later and my parents also ended up getting a little sick as well. I knew it was from the oysters because the only one who didn't eat the oysters was my boyfriend and he didn't get sick. We shared everything else so it had to be the oysters. So my mom called the restaurant and let them know that we got food poisoning and they didn't do anything. All they said was, "no one else called in for food poisoning". Seriously? I was literally vomiting and was on the toilet simultaneously all night when it kicked in and I thought I was literally about to die. I was in so much pain I couldn't even work for two days. They didn't even have the decency to give us a refund and brushed it off because "no one else reported it". Never coming back here again.

Be the first to ReplyThis place is so underrated and I'm so glad we went a bit
This place is so underrated and I'm so glad we went a bit away from the Main St restaurants to go here. We ordered the Seafood & Sashimi combo which came with SO MANY side dishes (all of them were seafood, served in different ways. There was the squid stirfried in a spicy sauce, fish cake kebabs, octopus in wasabi sauce, and too many others to count. After enjoying the sides, they brought out the platter, which had many pieces of various fish (incl salmon and tuna). I will say it was a bit stuffy in there and at one point was so hot, but once they turned on the AC, it felt better. The restaurant itself is clean and fairly spacious. Beer was only $4, super cheap. I saw there were also special pricing for later in the night. The waitress we had only spoke Korean, but it was not difficult to order with the menu at all. The wait staff were all great and frequently changed out the plates. Highly recommend!

Definitely come as a group so you get to try all the food amd seafood. We opted for the sashimi set which comes to $60+ per person after tax and tip. The amount and variety of food is breathtaking lol not only did it fill up the table, we didn't have enough space for the sashimi when it came out. We also saw people with seafood pot that looked good. Recommend for Korean sushi!

Super fresh seafood, but a bit overpriced and portion is not big. I still need to find a dessert place to fill up after splurging almost $200 in this place
Be the first to ReplyThis place moved since the last time we came.
Like last time the full menu is in Korean with the staff speaking minimal English. We ordered what was most popular according to the limited Korean and English between us and the wait staff. We were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the meal for 4 and tons of food came out immediately. Overall fish was super fresh and good.

Super fresh and fun! Enjoyed the different style of Banchan and service was spot on. It's a small place that almost feels like a cafeteria style. I enjoyed the homey feel. Good for groups & kids, too.
Be the first to ReplyJejudo Restaurant (or Jeju-Island) is a Jeju-style sashimi
Jejudo Restaurant (or Jeju-Island) is a Jeju-style sashimi restaurant, uncommonly found in NYC. Those unfamiliar with this type of meal need to be open-minded and adventurous. Disclaimer, I'm adventurous for sure but not familiar with this style of meal. In Korea's Jeju island, there are many seafood restaurants that offer set meals accompanied by a rotating slew of side dishes and fresh, raw seafood of the day. Jejudo offers this type of set menu, which is the best thing to try.On the menu, it is one of the seafood combos where you choose size based on number of persons (e.g. $195 for 5, $170 for 4, $150 for 3, $120 for 2). We tried the "Sashimi Combo & Seafood," which came with a seemingly endless parade of side dishes, culminating in a show-stopping assortment of fresh sashimi (e.g., fluke, salmon, tuna, yellowtail) on mounds of shredded radish. It is more than enough food for most people, and I think choosing the size based on party size is reasonable. Our side dishes, which seemed to have no rhyme or reason, included eel teriyaki, grilled fish collar, conch salad, sweet and sour pork, tempura shrimp, creamed grilled corn, fish balls in soup, sautéed veggies, crab alfredo pasta, steamed egg custard, fried fish, and a tofu/radish stew. For raw fish offerings, there was salmon sushi, a medley of raw shellfish, and the sashimi platter, best had with a bit of soy and chili sauce, which all diners get and can mix to their liking. The raw seafood here is very fresh, really untouched or fussed with. By far, my favorite raw fish was the fluke, which is available on its own in the "Live Fish Sashimi & Seafood" combo. The side dishes were generally decent, and even if one isn't fond of a specific dish, quantities are small, just a piece or few bites per person. Soju is offered (not flavored ones).I had fun trying this style of Korean sashimi/seafood cuisine. Don't come if you're looking for refined raw seafood (a la Japanese omakase) or if you're with picky eaters who can't handle not knowing what's coming. But for an unfussy, relaxed, and satisfying shared group meal, Jeju-Island is a great experience.

Seriously great service and sashimi fresh and delicious, various side dishes were great also.. The staff was really friendly and customer friendly. Not to mention the restroom was clean as well. BIG THUMBS UP.
Be the first to ReplyThis is the old Jeju from 162st moved to Murray station
This is the old Jeju from 162st moved to Murray station area in between the BBQ places. Been here multiple times, they specialize in Korean sashimi. Typically get the everything set for 2, which can serve 3 IMHO.It comes with a number of usually seafood themed tapas plate sized dishes from the kitchen. It has ranged from fish tempora, sliced abalone, fresh sea squirt (iodiney hand grenade looking thing), fresh sea cucumber, sushi rolls, sea broth with shellfish, fire grilled shrimp etc. basically what the chef feels like for the day and is available. They do have a creamy seafood sauce pasta which is pretty good. The big plate of fresh sashimi comes after like heavy artillery, beating what's left of your willpower to resist and diet. Lastly the seafood spicy stew comes the table.Like Arturo Duarte said, no Mas! Whether the soju goes with the food or it's a good excuse to drink soju, there's plenty of drinking going on in the place.Friday night was packed with locals, Korean toasts everywhere. Lots of expats of a certain age come here to get a taste of their home and nostalgia. Having seafood by the seaside like Jeju island is a rite of passage.Usually a 5 star experience, this time they skimped on the food (it was noticeable), not enough or distracted waitstaff had us waiting for table/food and water. Our busboy came to the rescue many times, gracias senior! It's a very local place and dauntingly seafoody place which may be high barrier to entry for some. Go there with a Korean friend or a group, it'll expand your horizons.Bring your wallet, think 150 for two with soju bottle and much more if you want to pile one on and drown your worries, sorrows or your honey shitting on you over some delicious seafood.
Be the first to ReplyNever knew this place existed because it's tucked away in
Never knew this place existed because it's tucked away in one of the not so busy areas of flushing. I got a few platters to go and the food was great! The seafood was super fresh and neatly prepared. We also got a few side dishes like cheesy corn, eel, seafood pasta, fried shrimp and seafood broth and miso soup. Everything paired well with each other and it was overall a great experience. The waitress was also super nice as she helped me bring all the food to my car. If you want to support a local Asian seafood place, please come here!
Be the first to ReplyThey are a seafood Korean restaurant.
They have fresh live seafood that you can order from the tank. What most people seem to go their for are strangely from the "Lunch Special" menu plus their sushi menu. The lunch dishes are served all day and nite. They range from $8.99 to about $30. Our favorites are the Jejudo special, tempora udon, salmon teriyaki, eel teriyaki and salmon sashimi and salmon sushi combo. After ordering many items, we especially look forward to their pasta dish. It is amazing. I love how they make this better than most Italian restaurants!!! It's a white sauce with imitation crabmeat. Today I ordered an extra one during our meal and then ordered two pasta dishes to go after we were stuffed. My kids can never enough of it too. Their teriyaki sauce on their salmon and eel are very delicious as well.
Be the first to Replythey moved locations! but great service and the food hits
they moved locations! but great service and the food hits close to home. loved! the food: i ordered the set menu of korean sashimi, not the entire sashimi variety set as the texture of korean sashimi is what i was craving! it comes with tons of appetizers including fresh seafood (sea squirt and more), and warm soups. i loved the variety of textures and dishes. the service: great! very attentive and keeps up with cleaning out the table to bring in more food. they were also accommodating to all of my questions and even provided a refill on the fish cake soup my party devoured.
Be the first to ReplyPlace has the best korean sashimi in town.
