CRAZY WAIT TIMES but for good reason! to be honest, i didn't know about jeong yuk jeom until recently, as it isn't quite as well-known as some of the other iconic kbbq spots in ktown (ie. ahgassi gopchang, kang ho dong baekjeong, brothers bbq, etc.). however, i am so glad that some friends of mine introduced me because oh boy, this place is banger!the ambiance and service are both quite high end, as the place is well-decorated (very aesthetic/instagrammable lol) and the waiters are all super friendly and attentive. for my group personally, we asked them if they could seat a table for 11 without making a reservation ahead of time, and they were able to do so with maybe a 30 minute wait time, which was not bad at all. and as with most kbbq spots, they serve a good variety of banchan with unlimited refills... definitely get your fill of the creamy potato salad and their refreshing salad with what im assuming to be a mango dressing.ok food review time:s-tier:butcher's pride combo: we got the biggest size of this, which is $239 for brisket, seasoned, unseasoned, and marinaded prime boneless short rib, and aged prime ribeye, along with banchan, steamed egg, and kimchi stew. the beef was all super high quality and absolutely delicious. nothing was too tough and all the meats were really beefy and flavorful. we split this combo amongst 5 people, and we were very very full afterwards, so portions are definitely worth it.beef tartare: mmmh! im a sucker for good beef tartare and boy was this one good! sometimes beef tartare can be a little icky and questionable if the meat is low quality or not fresh (which will also lead you to pay for it in the bathroom the next day), but i got none of that from this place's! the beef tartare was well-seasoned and paired with fruit and caviar, making the dish well-balanced and not too heavy. (no bathroom nightmares the next day either.)naengmyeon (cold noodles): these were super refreshing and a great pairing with the meaty barbecue. whenever i'd need a quick palate cleanser, i'd grab a little bit of these noodles, and the acidity of the soup base coupled with the chewiness of the noodles would prep me well for another round of beef.overall, jeong yuk jeom is a paradise for all kbbq lovers, and if you're looking to splurge a bit on food, this is place to do it.
