It's just a bit loud but the food makes up for it! I'm afraid of ordering yuzu on my ramen but it was good!!! I ordered the yuzu shio pork ramen. Highly recommend it. Also try the California poke bowl! Hubby got it and I keep stealing spoonfuls of it :-). Pork Gyoza can improve as it was a bit salty, maybe the spicy sauce will balance it out. Daughter grades the chicken wonton 4 stars and jinya chicken ramen will get another 4.5 from both me and my daughter. Place is clean and food servers were polite. Come and have a meal here.

The staff are instructed by jinya owners to yell as loudly as possible each time a customer arrives, and every time an order is ready. So on average every 2- 4 minutes, customers are subjected to 10 staff members screaming at the top of their lungs. This is by far the worst most annoying dining experience I've had in Vancouver. Everyone (Including the staff) HATES this ridiculous gimmick. Can we least eat our $30 bowls of mediocre ramen in peace?

Google map doesn't locate this place correctly but it is right around the corner and behind from OEB. The restaurant is clean, cozy and the decor is modern. We ordered the tonkatsu black ramen and crispy chicken. - 5/5 Tonkatsu black ramen was very good. The broth was perfect and not too salty. I like the thin noodles and the cha siu was very tender. Don't let the small bowl of noodle fool you but it is very filling. -2/5 Crispy chicken was ok. The chicken was crispy but I didn't think the ponzu sauce was that good. Ponzu sauce tasted more like soy sauce. Kinda reminds me of Korean style fried chicken dipped in soy ponzu sauce. I wish they had chicken nanban on their menu instead. Service was excellent. The food arrived within a reasonable time. I thought the waiter was attentive. Our napkin fell in the ground and the waiter quickly brought us over some more napkins without asking. Be the first to ReplyEnjoyed a much overdue catchup dinner with one of my BFFs.
We shared the Pork Gyoza and Crispy Chicken & Salad (added from combo) as appetizers. She got the Yuzu Shio Delight and I chose the JINYA Tonkatsu Black (we both added corn). And I got a Lycheetini.. cause, why not? To no surprise.. super delicious meal. Broth was flavourful, perfectly soft-boiled egg, and hella noodles! Finished every last bite.

Tried new vegan dish, it was spicy but a bit too garlic-y for my taste. I'll stick to their spicy creamy vegan. The lycheetini was pleasant. Overall service and ambiance were great and they weren't too busy unlike on their usual weekday evenings.

My biggest complain here is the parking. They have other food options if you decided to not get ramen. I came here with a friend to grab take out. The take out item was well laid out when they gave it to us. I got the Tonkatsu Ramen. They had the soup and noodles separated. Prices are more expensive compared to other ramen places. Jinya ramen started in the USA. It is not a chain from Japan. I found the portion size a bit small compared to other ramen places. I also got an appetizer edamame and a ramune drink to go along with my meal and that was $30. If you do take out, they have instructions on how to assemble your meal. I feel like the taste of Ramen Jinya has gone down hill over the years. I used to love Ramen Jinya. Note that there is happy hour special. One thing interesting here is that they serve beer and not just Japanese beer. I don't recommend doing take out. Dine in is always a better choice for any soup noodles meal.

Took a group, including a couple of people who've never had ramen. Everyone left happy and full. The tonkotsu red was excellent. Love that the spiciness is on a scale and the server warned us just how spicy it can get. The tonkostu black was garlicky but not overpowering. The chicken ramen was full of flavour. The spicy umami ramen was quite good but could have been spicier. Service was rushed. We were still settling into our seats when our server came to take our drink order. Water arrived shortly after and our orders, with drinks were taken. Our ramen arrived quickly but the beers and one martini didn't arrive until we were half way through our meal. Apologies were made for the delay, but it was disappointing. I was surprised by how rushed we felt. No sooner did our chopsticks and spoons gone down, than we were asked if we wanted to have the cheque split. There were empty tables and still plenty of broth left. Had there been a lineup at the door I could have understood the rush, but there wasn't. I'll likely return for takeout, but I would be less inclined to eat in given the experience with service. The space is also quite loud. It was difficult to even hear the person sitting next to me. Turning down the music slightly would make it much more welcoming and enjoyable. Food - 8/10 Service - 6/10 Ambiance- 4-10
