Jules Verne Paris Reviews from The Last Year
What to do when the amuse bouche are the best flavors of all?
Surprised by the views, the service and the food. A step up in style since last visit in 1986, but not the food. A culinary travel in shades of taupe, despite bloody red and orange gel, the flavors werenβt there.
Lives up to its rating and reviews.
No need to be on time as the elevator up only holds 4 and nobody is in any kind of rush. Wine with each course is $150 pp. But they do have an extensive wine list.
Michelin Star Restaurant with Obnoxious Customers
My husband and I have dined at Jules Verne on several occasions and our experiences have always been magnificent. Because of our love for this restaurant, we highly recommended that my son and his girlfriend visit during their stay in Paris this week. They had a lunch time reservation (made many months in advance!) and they were excited to be seated at a beautiful table for two in front of the window overlooking Paris. Unfortunately, an EXTREMELY loud family was seated near them. The family was not dressed for this special occasion (per the requirements) nor did they know how to behave in such a beautiful establishment. They were LOUD and OBNOXIUS. Many of the customers surrounding them, requested to be moved, however, my son and his girlfriend decided to stay at their table because of the beautiful view. This was probably a big mistake as the behavior never improved during their entire dining experience. They received many apologies from the Jules Verne staff, however, it really did have a negative impact on their experience. I believe that someone at Jules Verne should have spoken to the LOUD guests and explained to them that they were impacting the experience of others. I mean this is a Michelin Star Restaurant and they need to adhere to the high standards that have been set. Something should have or could have been done to handle this situation with these people as they obviously didn't know how to behave and maybe a glass of champagne offered or dessert offered to my son and his girlfriend would have been a nice touch at the end of such a distressing experience. By the way, they said the food was spectacular!
This was so unexpected.
Mostly locals and not touristy at all. The service was impeccable and the food deserved the Michelin star. Private elevator and exit to the Tour Eiffel . Will go back every time. You must try. Not too expensive.

We were able to eat at Le Jules Verne while in Paris and the view alone is worth the 5 stars. We reserved this restaurant last minute, so we didn't have the most ideal table to begin with, but as the night went on, we were moved to a table with an even better view of the night time of Paris. The service here is impeccable. Each person we encountered that evening, from the person who took us up to the restaurant in the elevator to those who served us our food, were very professional. Between our whole family, we had either 5 or 7 courses that evening. My son and I ordered the 5 courses and my husband and daughter got the 7 courses. Each dish was different and each of us liked different things that we had. None of the dishes were bad, but, for instance, I don't like certain textures, so I personally didn't like the venison. The best part of this dinner was the fact that we could go out a special door to look outside on the Eiffel tower and not have to worry about the crowds. It was amazing! At the end of our meal, we each got a piece of chocolate with a quote from Jules Verne, the writer who this restaurant is named after. I highly recommend you try this place at least once, especially if you are making a once in a lifetime trip to France. You'll get an amazing view from the Eiffel tower as well as delicious food!

We made reservations for 11/01/23 for the first seating and made sure to be one of the first in line to enter. In doing so we received an amazing window table with stunning views. The service was impeccable. The 7 course meal was the most amazing dining experience. This was not merely food but cuisine on such an elevated level as to be second to none. I've dined in many exquisite restaurants but nothing can compare to the ambience and most memorable meal at the Jules Verne in the Eiffel Tower. * We did not take photos of the food because we didn't want to detract from this amazing dining experience.

Tied for the best meal I've ever had! What a very special Paris experience and something you must do if you have the time! It's such a treat and unforgettable. As you enter you're actually in a building that is built around the actual Tower and the elevator ride to the restaurant is pretty awesome with a spectacular view of all of Paris waiting at the top for you. The service is an experience in itself! The staff is so friendly and accommodating, making you feel extremely special. The food...out of this world! If you like light and frothy with cream and butter this is your place! The flavors are a symphony and every plate provides a new experience to the senses. My personal favorite was the onion frothy mousse with truffle and the turbot with leek and yuzu.

OMG! Food, service, the views, everything! Once in a lifetime experience. We went for 12/31/23 and could've not asked for a better last meal of the year!
It was quite an experience that won't be soon forgotten.
I booked 3 months in advance and was a few days late from the day reservations opened up online for booking. I was only 3 days late and Christmas dinner slots were already completely booked and I only had a handful of time slots to choose from for lunch. I ended up reserving Christmas day lunch at 1:30pm. The cost was $510 euros (approx $565 usd) to confirm a reservation for a party of 2. SERVICE: The service was great. Everyone we encountered were polite and professional. Most of the staff speaks both French and some English, but some only speak French. FOOD: The food was very good, well, everything except the main entree. They offered 2 options for lunch - a 5 course tasting menu or a 7 course tasting menu. I opted for the 5 course menu. Many wines options are also offered for an additional charge but we selected still water, sparkling water, and citrus sodas. We tried: 1. Crab: Flavored with Tarragon, Granny Smith Apple Zephyr (5 out of 5) 2. Scallop: Puffed Buckwheat Galette Dieppoise Sauce and Oscetra Caviar (3 out of 5) 3. Langoustine: Prepared as a Ravioli. Parmesan cream, Thin Beetroot jelly (5 out of 5) 4. Venison & Chicken: Roasted with Cranberries. Braised Cabbage, Poivrade Sauce (both 1 out of 5; unfortunately, the sauce tasted burned, chicken was overcooked, and the venison simply lacked flavor) 5. Chocolate: Warm SoufflΓ©. Cocoa nibs ice cream, Crispy Gavotte (3 out of 5) AMBIANCE: The restaurant has simple elegance and contemporary decor. Nothing flashy. The window views of Paris was nice but has some obstruction due to the nature of the Eiffel Tower structure that is holding it up. FELLOW PATRONS: Our experience was mixed with some friendly co-diners, as well as some first class snobs. Unfortunately, we were seated by a stuffy foreigner couple. They were not french, they spoke a foreign language but were not friendly to us. Overall, if you are interested in trying a Michelin star restaurant while visiting the iconic Eiffel Tower all in one go and are okay with shelling out the cash, this is worth trying at least once in my option.

The food was great, the service was fantastic, the view is unparalleled. I see some reviews slamming the food, but it really was delicious. The standouts for me were the scallop, langoustine and the cheese course. The scallop, strangely, kinda looked like a taco, but it was superb. The lobster was also out of this world. The presentation was gorgeous with what I think was a beet gelee on top. The cheese was melted with shaved truffle and warm brioche. I could happily eat it every day of my life. The only plates that didn't impress me were the crab and the chicken. The crab was quite fishy, and it was an odd combination what I seem to remember was Granny Smith apple foam. The chicken was actually very tasty, but I just expect more from a Michelin star tasting menu main course. It felt a bit like we were being cheated. The turbot was a toss up. I don't know what the flavors were, but I really liked them. That said, the flavor was very strong and I can see it being polarizing. If I could do it over, we would've skipped the wine pairing and ordered a nice bottle. They definitely didn't skimp on their pours, but, if you're like me and have a hard time not finishing a good glass of wine paired with a delicious bite, you might walk out a little tipsy...and you might not totally remember what you had for dessert.

Excellent service, amazing and creative presentation of dishes. Five coarse meal with wine pairing perfect. They also provide a seven coarse meal with wine pairing which the men enjoyed.. Ambiance elegant, calm and well orchestrated.

We dined at the Jules Verne in September 2004 for my 50th birthday with friends, all of us coming from California. The evening was exceptional, so much that I chose to do it again in 2014 for my 60th... not so well. My 70th is coming up and we won't be returning. We were left standing at street level well past our reservation time and we were only taken after what seemed like a private party was taken and their evening well underway. The menu was no longer a selection as before but a set menu with your choice of 5 or 6 courses. We felt we were treated as an afterthought. Not the special evening we had planned for. Paris will always be special but not the Jules Verne.
