Superb experience overall
Our family of three visited Kricket Brixton on a Feb weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. While it is an Indian cuisine inspired restaurant, the flavours are so global and dishes (all small portions, meant for sharing) that I can imagine anyone relishing this experience if you are a foodie. Goan Sausage croquettes, Samphire Pakoras, Kerela Fried Chicken and Tandoori Poussin were just brilliant. Their house Chai (Indian, milk-boiled Masala Tea infused with cinnamon) was great too. We paid a total of GBP 85 for 6 dishes, drinks and tips. So, it’s not exactly cheap, but definitely worth the visit. Service is excellent too, Tom was patient, helpful and responsive throughout. Highly recommended!

I have been regularly there since the pop up in Brixton. Used to be excellent but I went there with a friend a few days ago and we were really disappointed. We were the only two in the restaurant (with 3 persons in the kitchen) and we were a bit push to order more. Cocktail was bland and the food so so, on top of that it is expensive for what it is.

Have had some small plates here before which were really nice, so decided to get a delivery from here tonight. The paneer tasted amazing, so did the bhel Puri. But the old Delhi chicken curry was very disappointing, a curry that tasted like Supermarket tomato and mascarpone pasta sauce - no spice whatsoever with 4 chunks of chicken thigh for £13. Wish the standard had been consistent.

What an experience this was! We recommend that you book a table before visiting this restaurant to avoid disappointment - we hadn't and were told first that we would have to wait about 45 minutes. so we turned away. But a guy from the restaurant rann after us (for some distance, too!) and told us that he had a table if we could wait 5 minutes - how about that for service? The food was exceptional - we had no idea what to order, but our service-minded guy told us that he could order for us, and then food was fabulous. Daniel, you're a star! Can't recommend this restaurant enough!
Be the first to ReplyA classic favourite with lovely staff!
My girlfriend and I just got home from a lovely dinner at Kricket in Brixton.. It’s the first time we’ve been in a while and it delivered as usual! There were some great new dishes (the paneer dish in particular!) and some classic old favourites (keralan chicken). Our waiter Daniel looked after us, recommended food and drinks and made us feel really comfortable. Can’t wait to go again.. cheers!

Amazing!!! I tried a lot of good restaurants in London but this is truly remarkable. Every dish is a journey. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and organized. Top service. Cocktails are great aswell. Loved the Ceylon bay. Thank you for the great experience.

Visited Kricket Brixton in its new plush premises under the railway arches and round the corner from its old home at Pop Brixton. The new venue is very convivial and inviting. The staff were all excellent, from the nice lady who greeted us at the door, to our brilliant waiter Daniel who gave us some fantastic recommendations on the menu, such as the samphire pakoras and the lamb chops which were incredible. As ever what Kricket does so well is use the best British ingredients to create delicious and often unique modern Indian dishes. It elevates even standard dishes like tarkha dhal - which here was flavoured with burnt garlic and very addictive. The cocktail menu was great and very reasonably priced. All in all a fantastic evening.

Good food, good atmosphere, great cocktails
Only one dessert on offer but it is delicious and great for the indecisive!
All the staff were amazing and really accommodating, big shout out to the beautiful Fatima who served us and was a great vibe to our evening 🎉
Best Indian ever!
The food here is sublime. This was my first visit and I was quite overwhelmed with just how delicious everything was. Not only is it presented beautifully, it tastes even better! Highly recommend, if you’re in Brixton, get yourself there!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, disappointing service
The food at Kricket was excellent, but we found the service very poor - we waited long times to be served and the waiter was quite dismissive and cold, we felt very rushed. For the price, the experience was not what I would expect and I wouldn’t go again. Whilst I understand it is sharing plates, our food came in two lots with a big gap in between.

Went here last night with a friend. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the cocktails however we left feeling deflated and like we'd spent a lot of money for an experience that wasn't quite up to scratch.
This was our first time at Kricket and we were advised to order 2-3 dishes per person and were explained which were starters and mains and that they were all for sharing. We ordered a starter and a main each and shared a side. I had wanted to order rice but for some reason our server shot that down and suggested parathas instead. The starters were tasty but huge, they never would have passed for starters anywhere else, this led us to panic about the mains, maybe we had actually ordered enough for four people. When they arrived they were fairly standard so we sighed in relief. My main wasn't filling at all seeing as once I'd eaten the three pieces of butternut squash I was left with a large bowl of sauce and one small piece of bread to eat it with (shame there was no rice). When the bill (£95) came we were disappointed as we hadn't felt the food or service we're good enough to justify it. Tried to reduce the 'discretionary' service charge that was included in the bill but there seemed to be an issue with this and we ended up paying full whack. Recently went to Dishoom and paid pretty much the same price but everything was absolutely spot on.
Probably would have given 3 stars for the experience but brought it down because it wasn't value for money.
Indian style in heart of Brixton
Good experience.
If you go on Monday you receive automatically 50% off. Is an Indian restaurant with some European taste to mix something. I tried just the most typical dishes with Indian ingredients. If you like the sources, go! I’m a person loves to discover different kitchens.
I recommend to everyone. The staff is amazing. Gentle and professional.
The food speaks for itself.
The food speaks for itself. Will be visiting again and again and again. Pig cheek vindaloo was amazing; with a side of samphire pakora. It’s the mutts nuts, don’t miss out

The food here is quite different to the run-of-the-mill Indian food. We enjoyed everything, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Not a lot to say really apart from the best food and staff in Brixton, modern Indian at its best, general manager was very friendly, Thankyou for squeezing us in for a last minute dinner.
Be the first to ReplyExceptional birthday Meal. Thank you Fatima!
Just got back from Kricket Brixton, I had booked for my boyfriends birthday meal. I emailed in advance about a surprise pudding to be bought out with a candle and they were quick to come back to arrange. We were greeted with a warm welcome and they gave us great seats with a view of the street. Gorgeous lighting and buzzy but gentle atmosphere. Food was stunning, Fatima gave us recommendations. We went for the fried chicken , Okra, Venison, mushroom dish and Dahl. Absolutely delicious food and Fatima was so warm and helpful, my boyfriend even got a happy birthday sung to him at the end. We will 100% be back. Thank you Kricket! Delicious Margarita cocktails too. Xx
