Be the first to ReplyAn Awful Lot of Offal
Pre-fix 7-8 course menu that took over 3 hours to complete. Nothing but offal and tripe. No vegetables to speak of. Lots of brown meat and lots of brown sauces. Fried pigs ears for one of the main courses, then again for dessert but covered in chocolate. Same with cow tendon. I don’t need nor want to eat offal again for dessert! Two stars for excellent service and a delightful atmosphere. Can not recommend. I appreciate the skill with which offal has been “elevated” but again, I don’t want or need to eat it in 7-8 dishes over the course of 3 hours.

I was amazed by this restaurant, I can't say anything but about any of the dishes we have eaten. Excellent treatment and plenty of staff working. We ate menu L. It is undoubtedly an experience that I really wanted to try, but I was afraid; not so much for the flavor but for the textures of the offal; but nothing to see. It is a mix of flavors recommended for all audiences.
Be the first to ReplyA must-see in Madrid
A wonderful experience, the restaurant is clean, tidy, with simple but cozy decoration. All the service staff are very friendly, always attentive and cordial. The menu is very tasty, almost all the dishes are impeccable, well made, very balanced flavors, a set of very well executed proteins. The fideua did not fit very well on the menu, very large portion and too heavy. 100% recommended, a wonderful experience, very reasonable prices, it is a must-see in Madrid

Everything was great and delicious. The manager goes out of his way to satisfy the customer's wishes. The restaurant is in a very central location.

All dishes are very well prepared based on offal. The beef gizzard ravioli and the sensational tripe. Informal atmosphere and excellent service.

I really wanted to go and finally the day came. The place is pleasant, dominated by the open kitchen. As it was dinner, we chose menu M: As appetizers, crust with monkfish liver, pig's head sausage and ropavieja croquette in its own way. We continue with a very delicious partridge pâté Then, lamb neck with corn tortilla, radishes, siracha It was followed by a pork tail with fried tail, smoked eel, fresh cheese and siracha And on the menu you had to choose between 2 dishes. Since we were 2 people, they recommended that we order both and share them. One was cod tripe fideua with mussels and cauliflower. And the other, tripe (they had black pudding as a special note, which gave them a different touch than usual). For dessert, lemon cake with passion fruit and mango ice cream. Tremendous. And finally some petit fours: passion fruit jelly with bone marrow and pork rind with chocolate Everything was delicious. And except for the tripe, they are dishes that anyone who is not a fan of offal could eat. (In fact, we were surprised there wasn't more "pure" offal.)

Be the first to ReplyThe offal at its highest level
Pure culinary spectacle, you enjoy every bite you put in your mouth; offal elevated to top cuisine for all audiences. We ate the top tasting menu and the value for money is unbeatable. The stew of tripe, leg and nose is sublime; They are surely the best I have ever had in my life. Mellow, compact, with a strength in its flavor that I still dream of... Excellent service, close but without fanfare in a small but well-defined place; open kitchen to delight us with the direction of Javi Estévez who was there as orchestra director. Conclusion, go and try it, you won't regret it.

Excellent, a little expensive, but all very good. The unbeatable attention. The place is a little small We miss not having a menu in the restaurant, only a menu
Be the first to ReplyDisapointment - no international service
Avoid unless you’re very keen for inner parts of animals. Went there with kids to crown the stay in Madrid. We cancelled the tavle at Taverna Laredo (big mistake - its just two vlocks away) due to positive comments, but were very disapointed. Inner parts of different animals served and when we asked the last dish (lamb brains to be replaced with something easier for 8yo) the desserts were brought instead, but full 4course many charged, Reclamation for the invoice handled only in Spanish. During 5days stay absolutely the most disapointing meal and service. Will not return, what ever stars they may have.
Be the first to ReplyThe highlight of my trip to Madrid
I reserved a table for lunch online, all communications with the restaurant were swift and efficient. I arrived at La Tasqueria and was greeted warmly, given a choice of tables and seated. I started with a glass of Cava and selected a bottle of orange ‘skin contact’ wine which at only 22 Euros was amazing value. The ‘medium’ menu was actually quite large with a multitude of appetisers, starters, main courses, cheese course and dessert, along with fresh bread and oil. This really is a good place to try something new, I ate some things I’d never had before and really enjoyed them. The flavours and textures were astounding and the service and atmosphere was perfect. A great place and a well deserved Michelin star.

We love everything offals and thought that La Tasqueria would be a great choice for us. While we enjoyed the food, there was a lack in distinction of flavor between the 4 dishes we sampled (sweetbreads ravioli, pig trotters, cheeks taco, veal tripe). The service was sorely lacking even though we made reservations for the first evening seating, and were the first party at the restaurant. Our server was dismissive and curt with us, rushing us throughout the entire dinner, constantly asking if we were done, at times when we still had food in front of us, other times when we were in the middle of eating. There was a runner who described the dishes to us when she set the food down on our table, but the majority of time the food was run by our server, and she would approach our table and throw the food down without even a glance at us. The atmosphere of the restaurant felt chaotic. Having worked 5+ years in Michelin starred restaurants myself, I was rather surprised another starred restaurant would provide such poor service and lack of imagination and creativity in their dishes. In the middle of the night after dining here, we also became terribly ill with food poisoning, but it is possible the sickness could have come from eating at La Tasqueria or Mercado de San Miguel in the afternoon.
Be the first to ReplyDon’t go if u can’t eat offal
I don’t suggest to try degustation menu in this place if you are not used to eat offal such as heart, kidney etc. And also they should do something about the smell, since there’s an open kitchen you can smell whatever they cook (and i can assure kidney doesn’t smell yummy). If you re looking for a fine dining place where you can drink your wine with nice food, this isn’t the right place. But if want to eat pig head, go for it.
