Visit was confusing
Not sure why there are no recent reviews but our group dinner our recently here for first time was a bit confusing, funky cool vibe upon entry but couldnโt understand the theme or type of cuisine - staff said itโs described as โfusionโ everything was so random and different , nothing seemed to gel and we ordered everything on the menu and double to accommodate a larger group- most dishes are quite small and at least 2-4 plates per person is needed. The dishes the food are even served in either seemed too small or too big for food. Cocktails were on point and we left with more alcohol in our system then food. Seems like a lot of fluff for nothing, would not recommend and would personally not return unless menu completely changed and I didnโt need our server to explain what each dish was.

We LOVE this place, and its owner, Zac. You need a certain sense of humour to fully appreciate the creativity of the menu, and the narrative if you attend the wine evenings, or do the tasting menu :) There simply is no more creative food in Toronto. Or nicer people.....
Be the first to ReplyUnbelievable wine tasting evening.
We attended the most amazing tasting menu and wine tasting here last night. The patio space is gorgeous! The food was incredible, as were the wine pairings. My favourite was the Smores they made on our hands, torch and all!

Delicious, unique and fresh food. Wonderful wine and cocktails and stellar service. This place is a local gem we are lucky to have in our neighbourhood. I would recommend every single dish I have had there. It is so great that they are offering their stellar food and beverages for takeout during this pandemic.

We enjoyed a fabulous meal here tonight, on a gorgeous patio. In the middle of these crazy times, lights, plants and screens make the patio so special. The food is always amazing here. Very creative dishes expertly prepared!

Once a week, they are making dinners for takeout, and they are unbelievably good. The food here is so creative, and always SO fresh. I cannot wait until we can eat there again, but in the meantime, we love taking their food out!
Be the first to ReplyWeโve been here many times. Love it!
Weโve been here many times. Itโs one of our favourite โupscaleโ spots! We like to go with a few others and prder the whole menu. Everything is always delicious. The fish curry was the best. The tartare was great. Excellent selection of drinks, beers, wines. The menu changes often but the quality is always amazing.

Awesome food, atmosphere and service! Great selection of cocktails and craft beers. We gathered 12 people together for a birthday party and the restaurant was very accommodating. We sampled the entire sharable Asian fusion menu- all delicious! Our server was upbeat and very helpful. Very cool, eclectic decor. A hidden gem in Little India. Will definitely return.
Be the first to ReplyStill spectacular and one of Toronto's best and most creative.
Lake Inez, south side of Gerrard, just west of Coxwell. We have eaten here before, and attend it's Weird Wine Club (a sort of monthly evening to taste natural wines from around the world, and learn!). This is a complete and total gem, with an eclectic decor. If I am not mistaken, one of the owners spent his summers as a child at his Grandmother's cottage on Lake Inez in the States. Hence the name. There is an incredible mosaic over the entire bar at the back. It is cozy, while also edgy. I can't tell you what music was playing, because it is a place full of chatty, laughing patrons. By 7:15, it was completely full, with no tables for the night, but some bar seating available, so make a resi. They make some super inventive cocktails (they can do traditional ones, too), and the special ones are all 3 oz. or more, lol. ๐ So walking or Uber might be a plan. The wine list is heavy on natural wines, and is quite large. They also have a great selection of craft beer and ciders. They got a new chef a while ago, and wow, we love the food he is creating! The food is meant to be shared, with a couple of plates per person being more than enough. Funny thing..... hiding the food seems to be a thing ๐Each dish arrived with something on top, making the main ingredient invisible. In my pics I moved the top layer a bit so you can see the actual food. Once again, sorry for the blurry photos. Tough lighting and wooed by the food! My son and I split the Fried Green Tomatoes, Kielbasa Sausage rolls, Tuna Tataki, and 2:45 a.m. Fried Rice, aptly named if you've ever raided your fridge in the middle of the night for leftover Chinese food. Humour runs rampant through the descriptions of food and wine. We never eat dessert, but had to try their version of Strawberry Shortcake. Just a total yum-fest. Lake Inez is not fast food. It is one of Toronto's (IMHO) best restaurants, with great staff and food that wows. How blessed are we to have it right here? Check it out, even if just for a glass of wine, cocktail and snacks at the bar!

My son and girlfriend had visited this restaurant a few times and highly recommended we go to celebrate a birthday. The beer and wine selection was amazing, and the staff were very helpful and funny with their descriptions, especially of wine. We had a wine from the Canary Islands, didnโt know they had wineries there, it was excellent. We had five people and we shared about six or seven dishes. The fried green tomatoes were delicious with a light crispy coating on them, and the pork fried rice was the best Iโve ever tasted. Overall a great experience and would like to bring some other friends there soon

Love that the menu is every changing and full of unexpected unique dishes!! Particularly loved the โpeas, peas, peasโ during my last visit. Great wine selection and nice service!
