Be the first to ReplyBest pie you will ever eat period.
On our visit to Rome we asked our driver where the best pizza was . He without hesitation took us here. He was 100 percent right. We can never eat another pizza in the USA again and not be disappointed. Fresh ingredients and crispy thin crust melt in your mouth

Great pizza spot in Rome, pizza was awesome service was just ok, will definitely be coming back!
Be the first to ReplyThis is a napoli-based pizza chain.
It's origin shop is in Naples. A sales staff at Louis Vuitton recommended this spot as the best pizza in town. The bag she recommended nice so we decided to give this place a try.My wife and I ordered a single margarita pizza with double mozzarella. The waiter asked if we were going to share it. We said yes not fully realizing why they asked. It turns out they will cut the pizza in half for you and serve on two separate plates if they know you'll be sharing it.The pizza tasted great. The sauce was very fresh, the mozzarella generous, but wish there was more basil. The pizza was not sliced and you are given the option to cut it yourself (and eat by hand) or have at it with a fork and knife. The price is worth the value. Interior-wise, the inside looks like an open cafeteria. The restaurant is through the door of the "Explora IL Museo Dei Bambini Di Roma" and is just past the bar. There are restrooms upstairs. The service was pretty basic. A wait staff seats you when you walk in. Flag down a waiter when you are ready for your check. If it's busy or you're in a hurry, then walk over to the cashier and give them your table number (which is on your table).

Chewy crust and it all just melts in your mouth. Also, definitely order the Don Luigi's. They're basically garlic knots, and they come with life changing buffalo mozzarella. Must try!

Quick service, tasty pizza. The restaurant is extremely kid-friendly and a nice place to have lunch before or after a visit to Explora museum. The menu consists of appetizers, pizzas and dessert. The prices for appetizers are a bit high, but pizzas are priced fairly well.

Be the first to ReplyAfter having the best pizza of my life at the Da Michele
After having the best pizza of my life at the Da Michele location in Firenze, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try it again when we were in Rome. To be honest, I was a bit afraid of ruining my memory of the G.O.A.T pizza I had several days earlier, but some things are worth the risk ;-D.The pizzas are about 14 inches in diameter; larger than the usual 11-inches for this style. The crust is clearly perfectly fermented. They bake at extremely high temperatures and their bakes times are consistently 60 seconds or less (yes, I timed it). The crust itself is extremely tender, almost crepe-like. This is a "knife and fork" pizza, but I had our pies cut into four pieces. The tomato sauce is the best I've ever had on any pizza anywhere. Apparently, they do not use San Marzano tomatoes (not sure about that), but whatever it is, it is beyond fantastic. The cosaca pizza just had sauce, a bit of grated pecorino cheese, oil and a few sprigs of basil. At first, I was thinking to myself that there's very little on this pizza, yet somehow it completely redefined what pizza is! It totally wrinkled my brain. The doppia mozzarella pizza was similarly excellent, though it was slightly different than the one I had in Firenze in that the cheese was melted more at this location. The bulk of the people in the restaurant were clearly locals and they all headed to the outdoor patio, though we enjoyed the AC of the dining room after a long day of tourist activities. The "fill from the bottom-up" beer dispensing station at the back of the restaurant was an attraction unto itself! If you are a tourist visiting Rome and you want to experience the best of "real Italian pizza" without taking a train to Naples for the day, you absolutely MUST go here.

I was so excited to find out they opened a location in the children's museum. It spared is a day trip to Naples. We timed it just right, and there was no wait! We came at 3pm on a rainy Sunday and got a table right away. There's actually a good amount of seating inside. They have the two traditional pizzas: marinara and Margherita. €7.50 here, €9 for double cheese - it's more than in Naples, but the train ride to Naples isn't cheap either. They had some appetizers on the more expensive side. There was also calzone and a fried pizza, but we opted for the traditional things The crust was awesome - bubbly, thin, chewy, salty. Try to eat it while it's hot! - Margherita: traditional, definitely get double cheese - Napoletana: with anchovy - saltier They have beers and wine. I got a Gragnano that was surprisingly good - a frizzante red from sorrento. Bonus: free WiFi.We each ate a pizza, and I would say they're maybe 12" each? The pizzas are huge but thin. I loved this. I'm tempted to come back again tomorrow....

This is the new Rome location of L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele in Napoli, which is famous for having the best pizza in the world (and also being one of Julia Robert's spots in the movie Eat Pray Love). While the modern decor and pizza don't quite add up to the glory that is the Naples location, this is the next best thing, and dare I say the best pizza you will have in Rome. They ship the ingredients from Naples, the tomato sauce is so fresh and airy it's almost like butter. Get the classic Margherita pizza for a taste of Napoli and be sure to get there when it opens at 7 to avoid a line. Enjoy! And yes, it is in a children's museum.
