Stopped by here because it looked pretty busy.
Service was great, my waiter was efficient and very friendly. I ordered the fresh spring rolls and chicken pad see ew. The fresh spring rolls were alright, but nothing special. The pad see ew was not good. It did not taste like any pad see ew I had ever had, as it was sweet, almost had an orange chicken taste to it. Only reason I'm still giving 3 stars is because I received good service and the price wasn't bad. I probably won't be back though.

The food tasted great! I had the green mango chicken salad followed by hiphop trout. Despite the great taste, I spent the following day with upset stomach in the bathroom. And that was the only thing I had eaten all evening. We were three. My other friend who ordered a meat dish was served at the same time I was served. Our third friend who ordered a vegetarian dish was only served her meal when we had almost finished ours. They were fast cleaning up our table though--I was still eating! The service is truly poor, and despite the tasty food, given my upset stomach the next day, I wouldn't recommend the place.
Be the first to ReplyGood Thai food In the 19th arrondissement.
, but since I'm from NY, I wasn't blown away. I'm used to good Thai food. That being said... we got a few okay tasting appetizers. The dried beef was AMAZING. Definitely recommend that. Entrees- I got the basil chicken (just okay), ginger chicken, shrimp pad Thai (ok) and pad see yu with chicken (SO GOOD). Prices are decent. Chicken meals don't come with rice, you pay extra for it as a side. Read many reviews about the service- our servers were fine. They really squeeze in a lot of tables in the space and the place was packed, which is great for their business. Minimum on card- 16 euros

If I could give this place no stars I would! We were the second couple seated in the entire place at 7:10. This made us a little nervous, but were told how great this place was. We waited 15 min and not one person even asked us our drink order. The waiter asked multiple tables for their order before and neglected us. We left after waiting, what seemed like eternity and went next door to Guo Xin and had the most amazing dim sum.

I've been to Lao Siam many times over the years and have forgiven the confused and often unfriendly service because the food was tasty. The last few times I've been have had me thinking each time that I wasn't coming back. Recently I've given them another shot but, unfortunately the cooking has gone downhill. The nems were pretty tasteless today and felt just like they were reheated, with one brown, wilted lettuce leaf as plate decoration, the tom yam soup was lukewarm and tasteless with four tiny shrimps , the raw spicy shrimp was the one tasty dish and their "famous"tigre qui pleut dish almost made me cry myself: SALTY sauce, small portion of meat .... next time I'll just walk up the road to the far superior restaurant Krung Thep, which offers fresh, well prepared Thai food and always a welcoming smile. I'm quite surprised by all the 5 star ratings for Lao Siam, but I'll put it down to clueless tourists and Parisians who have no idea what they are talking about. The same ones who order saying: "no spice please and no chilies", sensitive souls who are totally clueless

You cannot leave Paris without dining here at least once! My husband and I stayed in Paris for a week and returned 3 times for dinner. It gets very busy so I recommend showing up prior to 7:30pm (Worth the wait if you come later) We met many locals who mentioned this was also their favorite Restaurant in town. The fresh shrimp spring roles were perfect to start with. The Red curry was my favorite. The Pad-see-ew was also amazing! (the perfect amount of spice). Good portions for the price. The service team seemed very busy but we noticed the owner would personally greet many of his regular guests. The space is tight but the ambiance was great! My husband and I are devastated that we live so far and can't dine here more often.

A bit pricey with small portions but some of the most delicious thai food I've tried in Paris! I love coming here for date night. Pure happiness. Recommended!
Be the first to ReplyWas not at all impressed.
ย I ordered my favorite Thai restaurant dish, Pad See-ew, and it was greasy??? ย Beef was well cooked, but also fucking greasy. ย It's possible that perhaps this is just one of their weak dishes, but really, how hard is it to fuck up Pad See-ew? ย The restaurant was definitely bustling, and I stood in a long (but fast) queue outside, but I really don't see the appeal of this restaurant. ย Most positive thing I can say is that the price wasn't terrible.

Looking around for a nice affordable Chinese Buffet restaurant and ended up here at Lao Siam. ย A Thai Restaurant located in Belleville, ย There was a line at the door waiting to get in, a good sign that the food must be good because the people on cue are mostly locals & a few tourist. ย We ordered Pad Thai and Curried Shrimp with Rice, and it was delicious, but the portions are a bit smaller than in New York. ย That probably explains why most French women are so skinny because most of the portions they serve in the restaurants are unusually small, and the prices are very reasonable. another reason why this place is very busy... ย My son said, next time we look for a Chinese Buffet. ย Next time when i had the chance to travel to Paris again, I wouldn't mind going back .The owner must have done a killing with all those lines, I heard it was like that everyday. Parisiennes do love Asian food....Hmm, makes me wonder if they would welcome Filipino food too..

Be warned this place is always busy, there is always a queue outside the door ... they do not take reservations. You will get authentic good thai food. It is as good as eating in Bangkok. If you are ever in Belleville and looking for Thai food, this is the place to go. It's inexpensive as well. It's a bit small so you will definitely feel like you are eating with strangers ... communal for the most part ... my opinion. I do wish the menu was in english, but I got by ordering just fine. Aarrgh the service .... wait staff are not all friendly or smiley. While I was there a little drama ensued, a guy and a girl ordered two entrees, however, they wanted to only pay for one ... apparently they did not like one of the entrees, though it was never sent back to the kitchen and they practically devoured it ... I have no idea why they believe they should eat for free. Anyway, it was a loud shouting match between the patrons, wait staff and I assume the owners. The man and woman were eventually tossed out. That was the highlight of my overall dining experience in Paris. By the way, this place is NOT at all TOURISTY. All the locals eat here. When I travel I try to avoid all tourist trap holes ... it almost always turn out to be a terrible dining experience and bad food.
