Came here for my wife's birthday after hearing tons of

4/5 by 👻 @Richard R. on 09/16/2025

Came here for my wife's birthday after hearing tons of amazing things about it. I have to say, it did not disappoint. Ambiance: We were told that it was supposed to give a 1960s dinner party vibe mixed the chef's experience in the scouts. I picked up the scouts vibe ( ie Menu, log cabin aesthetic, rustic feel) not so much the 60s dinner party (unless the closeness in tables is a part of that). Nevertheless, still a great environment. Food: Top to bottom the food was amazing. My wife and I personally enjoyed the butternut squash purée with trout. Trout was tender and beautifully flavorful. The meal was 7 courses and you can follow along with their playful menu they provide (it is like a scouts journal that describes each dish and has space to write notes about each dish). The desert concept was interesting. You are essentially relocated upstairs to enjoy the desert along with coffee and drinks. A more intimate space with couches and blankets (very nice touch). The deserts came in two parts, themed around special picks of fruit. Each was amazing. Service: Service was great. Very attentive. My water glass was never empty, never had to ask for a cocktail order because they would beat me to the punch. That said, here is where I dock a star. This is more of my personal take; the staff is too verbose. I understand that these dishes are craft with care, love and specificity. It is also important to explain to people a certain order in which to eat things and, overall, what you are eating in general. However, these explanations go on quite long. Like it's this personal display of personality by the staff that is just not needed. I know the staff is specifically trained to do what they do. I just wish, outside of the necessary stuff, keep it simple. Let the dish tell the story and the staff provide the scene. To be fair, the staff does tell you that conversations will be constantly disrupted and explanations long. If you have to preface this then it's too long. Overall, a great experience with even better food. The staff was great, ambiance very nice and I'm thankful that places of this caliber are still around in San Francisco.

Lazy Bear is truly one of a kind! The whole dining

5/5 by 👻 @David W. on 09/09/2025

Lazy Bear is truly one of a kind! The whole dining experience feels special from start to finish. My favorite part of the menu was the tasting menu's signature grilled squab perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. Every course is creative and beautifully presented, but that dish stood out the most for me. It's pricey, but absolutely worth it for such a unique and unforgettable meal.

A truly great dining experience

5/5 by 👻 @Brad H on 09/07/2025

Dining at Lazy Bear was one of the best culinary experiences we’ve had in San Francisco. From start to finish, the pacing was perfect as the courses flowed naturally without ever feeling rushed or drawn out, which made the evening feel effortless and immersive. The staff was incredibly attentive and took the time to walk us through each dish and pairing with just the right balance of detail and enthusiasm. We especially appreciated how customizable the menu was. I enjoyed a fully vegetarian menu with a wine pairing that felt just as creative and complete as the standard offerings, while my wife had a menu adjusted to avoid certain meats she didn’t prefer. Every dish was beautifully presented, thoughtful, and delicious, with a level of creativity that made the whole experience feel special. Lazy Bear isn’t just a dinner, it was an experience. For anyone looking for a unique and memorable night out, it’s hard to beat.

Honestly, our experience at Lazy Bear was a crushing

1/5 by 👻 @Elaine S. on 08/30/2025

Honestly, our experience at Lazy Bear was a crushing disappointment, and this is not something I say lightly for such a fine establishment. I first went to Lazy Bear when it was a popup 11 years ago, before it became a restaurant, and I absolutely loved it- I left in awe of the the creativity, the aesthetic, and of course, how scrumptious every single bite was. It was a memory that I truly savored and delighted in, and I was thrilled and so excited to revisit again over a decade later. Unfortunately, tonight's experience was such a stark contrast to that bygone memory- I left so disappointed and underwhelmed by the food, the service, and the overall vibe, and I feel like this experience was the bait-n-switch disappointment of the century. I'm so sad to report that I will never return again, and honestly, I am quite bitter that we dropped $1.2k on such a subpar experience. Let's start with the food. True to its ethos, lazy bear's cuisine is an homage to "Americana" comfort and nostalgic food. The servers did a wonderful job evoking imaginative memories of each course, from your "uncle who's six beers in manning the barbecue and charring your lamb chops" to their signature cultured (slightly tart and funky) butter and homemade brioche... but unfortunately that's where the creativity and imagination ended. Each course lacked complexity- there was an overall theme but nothing outstanding in terms of textures, flavors, plating, or balance. I found the dishes to be overly salty, without interesting reimaginations or deconstructions. For example, the poultry course featured chicken that was moist with crisp skin, but any sous vide preparation + sear of such is attainable at home for an amateur or moderately skilled cook. Similarly, the lamb chop, though succulent and well cooked, lacked depth, even with the fancy tomato barbecue sauce dollop served on the side. Service felt really rushed, which also marred the experience. We were seated immediately upon arrival (a couple minutes early) but as we sat down, we were expected to decide on a drink/pairing option right away. Even as I was deciding on a beverage, the first course was served immediately (when usually the first wine would be poured before the dish arrives). I am a moderately fast drinker and still could not keep up with the pace of the pouring and how quickly each course was coming out, a problem I have never had at any other fine dining establishment. It was clear that everyone was on a tight timeline, and I felt rushed with every course. The service was good- servers and sommelier were all very nice but made it very obvious that they didn't want to make conversation (or at least were constrained by a clock), so it made it awkward for us to try to better understand the meal or wine pairing or ask questions about each. Literally, the server would be walking away as we asked a question. I appreciate that the vibe was not as hoity-toity as other fine dining places (like where they re-fold your napkin if you get up to use the restroom or listen in on your conversations to say something like "thanks for joining us again!"), but it still felt cold and impersonal nonetheless. Overall, so disappointing. Wish I could re-live the 2014 era Lazy Bear experience but alas, I guess it's time to say goodbye and move on. I shall not be returning again.

We went here to celebrate our engagement and were really excited to try another Michelin star restaurant. Let's keep the review simple and straightforward. Food was just ok, nothing really stood out. Presentation was nice. The dessert section upstairs was underwhelming though. They wanted to make the experience different but having to enjoy our drinks / dessert upstairs was just odd to me.

Every course wowed me and the staff had beautiful stories to pair with each one. The notebook and pencil is a nice touch and I was ecstatic the next morning when I remembered I had banana bread and cold brew from their goodie bag at the end of the night. The presentation of the mushroom broth was probably the most memorable for me, but I could go back here every week and be happy. Their love for food comes across and the nostalgia hit right on the nose

Amazing experience, beautiful ambience and delicious food.

5/5 by 👻 @Jessica Y. on 08/13/2025

Each dish told a story and the staff was extremely knowledgeable about the food that was being served. Upstairs seating felt romantic and intimate and the table overlooking the restaurant from above was beautiful. The experience felt interactive, as we were given a book to jot down notes for each dish. Note: if you arrive late they will take dishes off your prefix and will not adjust the cost. You will be paying full price. We arrived 35 minutes late and had 2-3 courses removed because of time constraints. But, I believe they realized they spaced out the dishes incorrectly. We had a few dishes come out extremely fast back to back which was followed by an unusually long delay for a couple dishes. Food: 9.5/10 Service: 7/10 Ambience: 9.5/10

We went to my boyfriend's favorite restaurant and after

5/5 by 👻 @Jazzmine M. on 08/07/2025

We went to my boyfriend's favorite restaurant and after going, I can definitely see why! We did the wine pairing alongside the tasting menu, and it felt well-curated without being showy. Out of all the dishes what really stood out for us was the crab dish and the steak. The crab came through in a rich, balanced way. The steak, which showed up as a coal‑roasted Wagyu ribeye, was melt‑in‑your‑mouth-good. We also appreciated that despite the complexity and polish of the meal, the overall vibe stayed approachable. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, guiding us through the courses with ease--explaining the pairings and ingredients without inundating you with too many details. Ultimately, it was a very special night. Lazy Bear delivers adventurous, seasonal food with strong wine pairings and confident service. It's worth the splurge, especially if seafood and a standout steak are on your radar.

Had a pretty great time at Lazy Bear.

5/5 by 👻 @Jason W. on 07/28/2025

Each course was well described by the staff and the wait between each course wasn't too long. To start, they brought out basically a sort of tea, described as and infusion of Wild Blossoms, Herbs and Conifers, Honey. The presentation was really pretty. Next was some Whipped Scrambled Eggs with Bacon, Maple, and Hot Sauce. It was kind of like eating latte foam, but just with the flavors listed. The Seafood Tower had the tiniest and cutest Clam Chowder Bread Bowl. Even though the bread was tiny, it still managed to be crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. There was also a Spot Prawn with Apricot sauce and a Broiled Shigoku Oyster with Green Garlic Glacage. The last seafood course was SF Bay Halibut served as a salad. Everything was super flavorful but light at the same time. We started to move away from seafood, starting with a Split Pea Soup containing English Peas and Shoots, Ham, and Pork Belly, that was nice and savory. We were then brought the Lazy Bear Cultured Butter served with a Brown Butter Milk Bread. I forget exactly the description of it, but basically the butter culture is hella old and that gives it a different flavor, texture etc. Some creamy Brentwood Corn with Fiscalini Cheddar, Huitlachoe, and Australian Winter Truffle added some more richness to experience. The next dish, Fogline Chicken with Carrot, Swiss Chard, and Marsala was pretty tender but in the end was just chicken. Something something sous vide something; I forget what they said about it. Anyway, the barbeque inspired Grilled Lamb Ribeye was really great and provided some heft to the night. For the sweet items, they brought us upstairs to little more secluded area. We were given little Strawberry cakes and some ice cream(?) that were herby and floral. Finally finished the night with a wonderfully rich Chocolate Beet Lava Cake. We also got wine pairings which all tasted good to me. I know nothing about wine so... Overall, a pretty amazing experience and I'm super happy I was able to enjoy it. Look forward to coming back!

Lazy Bear was on my list for a while, so when I heard that

5/5 by 👻 @Lisa Y. on 07/05/2025

Lazy Bear was on my list for a while, so when I heard that they were finally reopening after the remodel and in celebration of their 10th Anniversary, I made sure to stay up to date with when the reservation release would be! I managed to get reservations! The dining room is dimly lit with woodsy lives. The theme is outdoor with tree branches hanging from the ceiling, a giant mural of Yosemite, and lots of décor with bears and other forest creatures. They have an open kitchen, so you can see all of the hustle and bustle, as well as their new The staff is a lot of fun! They somehow manage to be both sophisticated and proper while also dropping in some informal and tongue in cheek remarks, love it! A fun twist on what you'd expect at a typical Michelin starred restaurant. The first thing you'll notice upon sitting down is the Field Guide and pencil they provide you! This acts as both the menu, and a little notebook for your to take notes on your thoughts on each dish. Your servers will actually ask you about it and see if you wrote anything down! Let me start off by saying that the whole tasting menu was incredible! They use hyper-seasonal ingredients, so their menu changes frequently. A few dishes that really stood out: - "Snacks": Three small bites that include Sourdough Bread Bowl, Matsutake and Spelt Tart, and Brown Rice Cracker. The sourdough bread bowl has clam chowder and Lazy Bear Reserve Caviar by Tsar Nicoulai. The cutest little bread bowl you've every seen! The caviar was amazing. Clam chowder taste was more on the subtle side but good nonetheless! Next was the Matsutake and Spelt Tart with essence of pine and a delicious and juicy wagyu ribeye cap. Last was the Brown Rice Cracker with carrot and koji, really good umami taste. - Carolina Gold Rice Grits: One of two of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE dishes of the night! Did you know that Fort Bragg Uni is actually an invasive species?! So by eating it, you're your part! I will say, it is quite delicious though! Sweet and not bitter at all. The Gulf Shrimp head butter was incredibly flavorful. It paired so nicely with the sweet and tart flavor from the roasted and raisinated Sungold Tomatoes (that's right, they made the tomatoes into raisins!). - Lazy Bear Cultured Butter: This is no ordinary bread and butter! The butter culture is actually 12 years old! It was tangy, salty, and almost walks the line between butter and cheese! It comes with the softest brown butter milk bread. - Coal-Roasted Wagyu Ribeye: OK WOW, best wagyu I've had in my life! This A5 beef from Miyazaki Prefecture has a reputation for a reason! The most incredible beef I've ever had, truly melted in my mouth! The perfect sear using their new coal grill! It came with eggplant confit in wagyu fat along with tiny onion rings, wagyu 'nduja, and basil. After dinner, we were led to their upstairs lounge section for dessert, some final bites, and a parting gift! Great view from the top floor, make sure to take it all in!

3/5 by 👻 @Hannah A. on 07/20/2024

I've been to LB three times for private dinners, and while the food was obviously incredible, I was super unimpressed with David Barzelay's attitude. We secured a New Year's Eve dinner reservation (my date spent a small fortune for this) and David addressed the audience and was telling us about his history and the restaurant in general. He promoted the audience for questions, so I raised my hand and said "it just occurred to me the restaurant is an anagram for your name". He said to me "yeah, no kidding, let's keep the questions relevant and about the food." That basically ruined the place for me. Was that really necessary? I've met plenty of Michelin chefs, including Huber Keller, Puck, Jamie Lauren, and Daniel Bouloud, and they couldn't have been kinder. So disappointing.

Why is this place getting good reviews??? Mediocre service, they cannot coordinate timing of food, can't keep the choices of drinks straight for the members of the party. They kept on making mistakes serving them. Very disorganized, inattentive wait staff. Chairs are uber uncomfortable. The drinks were unremarkable and the bartender seemed he was confused behind the bar. It was too cold and too loud in the dining hall and the communal table idea just doesn't work. And the bathroom was dirty and smelly for a Michelin star restaurant. But the worst of all was the food. Salty, flavors were unbalanced and simply bad. How has this place kept its 2 Michelin stars for missing EVERYTHING? It was one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had for so much money we spent. Horrible.

I made reservations for Lazy Bear immediately when they opened up every month on the 15th and I highly recommend you to do so if you intend on dining here. The reservations fill up fast and it's first come first serve, and for 2 good reasons also: previously 2 Michelin stars. Impeccable service: we got there early they sat us prematurely. Description on food, attention to detail, and ensuring we were having a great time! I can't explain it any further. The wait staff here is the gold standard. The decorations of the space was super cute as well. It's called lazy bear so its decor was after the California cabin life with bears. The food was AMAZING. It was a 10 course meal that included an egg dish, fish, lamb, etc. I've heard it changes often but it's carefully well thought out and very considerate of their menu. Overall, we both enjoyed our dinner here at lazy bear. Come for the impeccable service, great vibes, and the food that has Michelin star critics raving about.

I was so excited to visit this restaurant because of its Michelin status. Unfortunately, it was a less than enjoyable experience to Lazy Bear. The restaurant was freezing when we got there and we were seated right under a giant fan. When we inquired to turn the fan off they mentioned there was construction and they are fanning out the paint to dry. First off, I don't want that chemical smell during my experience, but I understand last minute things happen (I hope it wasn't planned construction). I then requested to move tables so we were not sitting right in front of the gust. The staff member became annoyed and said there was no where else to sit when I saw a few other spots available at other ends of the restaurant. I had to spend the next two hours under the blowing fan waving my hair around and wearing my bulky coat. Every time food came out, it became cold by the time the server had a chance to explain the dish. I mentioned to another server and they brushed it off. I understand things happen, but for a Michelin star restaurant and the high prices I would expect way better. It was honestly a disaster of a meal. The egg starter and snow dessert were delicious which is why I gave two stars, but I'm honestly very disappointed that no one cared about our discomfort in the entire experience.

I was so impressed with the first course and most of the course was very well executed but the most important part was the dessert was really good and it ended on a high note, unlike a lot of fine dining places! I really enjoyed the bread and the 11 year butter, but surprisingly I enjoyed the broccoli fondue that was the course after the bread. Well executed with really creative flavors and combinations. Deducting 1 star for service and the drink program. Service downstairs was excellent. Service upstairs with the dessert is best described as snarky and rushed. I really did not appreciate the server's comments when I ordered a second espresso with my second dessert. Maybe he was trying to be funny and personable, but it came across as condescending and snarky. Regarding the drinks program, I would have appreciated being told that there was a non alcoholic drink paring available as I have been cutting back on my alcohol consumption. I ordered wine by the glass and the sommelier choose the wines and didn't offer to bring a wine list. The first glass was a $35 3 oz pour of a $70 retail central coast chardonnay. I would be OK with that if the pour were larger or the wine wasn't readily available in local stores (which it is). It was also a disappointing match with the first courses. The second glass was a $65 3 oz pour of a $120 retail wine. This was a perfect match with the dish (broccoli fondue) and an excellent wine, although I wish the pour was larger. I guess the lesson is to get the wine pairing, don't order by the glass. Wine pairings are usually more alcohol than I want but given the size of the pours, it would have been OK here.

We did the Valentine's menu and I got the wine pairing and my wife got the non-alcoholic pairing. The food was all very tasty and interesting with a wide range of flavors and (mostly local) ingredients. There were quite a few throwback/comfort food type things that were very elevated (the broccoli fondue was the fanciest potato/broccoli/cheese soup I've ever had!) and then some were just decadent and fancy/avant-garde. The pours in my wine pairing were a bit small, but I got 6 very different wines that paired nicely with the courses. The non-alcoholic drinks were super unique with lots of sodas and juices and fresh ingredients being combined to create some very weirdly awesome drinks. The amount of food was pretty perfect as we were both quite full, but not in pain, at the end. Plus they sent us home with some really tasty cold brew coffee, cake, and truffles which made an excellent breakfast the next day.

This place is communal but came with large group so we took up most of the table. We started off with the foraged tea made of herbs and plants that was collected around San Francisco! It was a cool concept and the taste definitely very interesting - earthy... All the mains we had were great! Loved the seafood tower, grilled chanterelles and lamb chop in particular. The last two were grilled and seasoned lightly but so delicious. After your main, they direct you upstairs to the loft to enjoy some desserts. This was the only part that I didn't really like too much. There were three courses starting with an ice dessert. It was kind of just lacking in flavor. The orange sorbet was good. The petit fours after just had really interesting flavors, some a little bitter? Not sure

She also brought a stool to put my purse on, which I thought was kind of ridiculous but also appreciated the care & thoughtfulness of it. Our servers explained every dish that we were served that evening and answered our questions thoughtfully. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and helpful in giving us great beverage recommendations. I was also very impressed with the care they took to accommodate my partners dietary restrictions. My favorite part of the evening was when we were taken upstairs to enjoy our dessert. We were seated in our very own corner, which was pretty secluded from the other guests. It also had a great view of the downstairs dining area. We enjoyed our evening at Lazy Bear. Staff was great and the food was amazing!

Not what they were

3/5 by 👻 @Paul B on 10/10/2023

Third, and last, visit. They are just coasting with little passion or innovation. Servers rushed with scripted descriptions and limited interactions. Flat champagne, replaced on request. Mediocre pairings especially reserve. Den dessert overloaded with sweet wines and two way too sweet desserts. Fading glory.

Amazing and delightful splurge! Get reservations in advance!

One of the best meals of my life. The food is amazing and delightful! It's such a fun experience and every bite was delectable. The chef came out and explained every dish so you know exactly what you're eating and waht makes it special. Can't wait to go back! I think it's rare they have walk-ins so I'd make a reservation in advance.

Lazy Bear nailed it from the moment you step inside. The food and presentation was phenomenal, as was the service and overall experience. So good I'm going back with family this month :)

Unlike some other Michelin star restaurants, Lazy Bear

4/5 by 👻 @Crystal X. on 03/19/2023

Unlike some other Michelin star restaurants, Lazy Bear feels intimate and unpretentious. It's clear they put a lot of thought into the ambiance and my friend and I loved the experience. Our favorites were the whipped scrambled eggs and california rice. The bacon, maple and hot sauce created a depth of flavor that we couldn't have imagined in any egg dish. The california rice had so much natural sweetness from the dungeness crab and umami from the uni - very memorable! The whole experience took about 3 hours, and I love that they sent us home with banana bread and cold brew for the next day.I'm giving four stars because for $350/pp there were a few dishes that seemed more generic (pork loin and chicken & dumplings). Still an amazing experience! I'm thrilled I was finally able to eat here and look forward to coming back.

5/5 by 👻 @Edward W. on 03/08/2023

Fiance brought me for my birthday and it was an amazing surprise. Ever since COVID, it seems like they've changed up the seating arrangement to be a bit more private than it used to be. I personally prefer this as it's more intimate and better for celebrating special occasions. Loved the decoration and the scouts themed experience as well. After the main meal, there are add-ons that can be added that bring you to the top floor. Well worth it if you are willing to spend $$$. We did a rare whiskey pairing that had some whiskeys dated back to the prohibition era.

The menu we had was fairly fish and seafood focused but no complaints, the salmon was incredible and melted in your mouth. The dessert experience upstairs with the pairings was also very unique.

5/5 by 👻 @George S. on 02/15/2023

One of the most delicious and interesting dining experiences I've ever had. Everything was delicious in its on own way. Some of my favorites were the strawberry soda, the bread and butter, and the wagyu. My group also really enjoyed the tartare and pancake. Very worth it and definitely deserving of its Michelin stars.

Lazy bear has done it again.

5/5 by 👻 @Linda H. on 02/08/2023

Went years ago and they have def changed it up. It's def in line with the more "fine dining" experience but I did miss their OG way of Dining last time. The parties were separated, not a communal setting like last time. Def more intimate setting. My faves were the truffle fondue, the crab rice and broth, the cauliflower parsnip dish, the honeycomb cake...let's be honest I loved it all. The sommelier recommended a fantastic red Cab that paired well with the evening. Dessert was served upstairs that overlooked the restaurant. Overall Lazy bear does fine dining very well. Extremely attentive yet still relaxed environment. Love the creativity and their desire for change ...miss the Parker house rolls. Also loved my local celeb moment. Keep doing what you're doing, it's def working for you.

I would def wanna come back for that california rice, winter roots, and pork chop. Service is amazing too and they make sure you learn where the ingredients are coming from. I do think the wine pairing can be a bit improved as it didn't really elevate as much as I thought it would be but still it was good experience.

Truly outstanding experience! The food was delicious, the service was warm and friendly, but what stood out to me the most was that the food was unique. It definitely pushed the boundaries of what I am used to. It was really awesome to see my 13-year-old son trying beef tartare! The dishes are absolutely beautiful. And not to rave about something so mundane, but the butter is delicious, I want to eat it everyday! It is worth the money, so treat yourself and come here on a special occasion.

It was a very special day in our household. A very special day calls for a very special date. I thought dinner was going to be at Alexander's, but little did I know that my husband planned a surprise dinner at Lazy Bear, a place I've been talking about for years!I was so confused when our Uber driver dropped us off across from Lazy Bear. I know exactly where Alexander's is located, but I found myself baffled as to why we're dropped off at a weird location, a place no where near Alexander's. I don't question it because I trust him, so I follow as he leads the way. He's recording me as we walk, whilst the wind blows my hair in every direction, I'm trying to keep myself from having an episode of Marilyn Monroe, we finally arrived in front of a black building. "WHAT THE HECK" I thought to myself. The host greets us and my husband gives her our reservation details. "Welcome to Lazy Bear" says the host as another host opens the door. The start of this experience was already spectacular! My amazing husband, ever so sweet and loving man, swept me off my feet - once again! Now, the dining. Every glassware, pot, plates, utensils and meals that were served to us were top-notch. Everything was like an art, so beautiful to look at. The level of creativity and thoughtfulness that was put into each course really made each one so memorable. Rather than describing each course, I'm posting pictures instead. After-all, a picture is worth a thousand words, right? Now, the rating. Why the 3 stars? Why not more? If I could, I would have given 3.5 stars. But truly, I wanted to give Lazy Bear 5 stars. I couldn't because well, sometimes, things happen that can dampen the experience. In my case, I was literally dampened. The Sommelier station was located right behind me. The head Sommelier was apparently opening a champagne bottle...and then...well, first, let me say this. When I was learning to become a Sommelier, we are taught to open bottles, especially champagne bottles AWAY from guests. This is just common knowledge, really. The Sommelier was doing just the opposite. He faced me while opening and the cork popped open. All the champagne splashed and spilled out to the ground, onto my dress, legs and shoes. Thankfully, the cork didn't hurt anyone. Of course he apologizes and hands me his card for me get my dry cleaning bill compensated. Well, I didn't reach out because it'll only cost $12-$15. That doesn't compensate the damaged experience. No one's perfect, accidents happen. But shouldn't he have been more cautious? Considerate? Have a sense of anticipation? We're dropping close to a grand for this meal/experience and I would expect the Sommelier to know what he's doing. Second reason behind the low rating. Every meal was simultaneously served to us. And I really loved that each server would recite the ingredients or tell us a little story behind each dish. I thought that was very personable and a great touch to offer to guests. HOWEVER, hot gnarly breath was blowing down to our face each time. BTW, did I mention that it was a 15 course meal? It was almost sickening because each recital would take 30~40 seconds. It made us feel very uneasy and uncomfortable. Almost like getting a whiff of standstill poop before indulging in a magical meal. Do you ever get like this? The moment in between the next course is served, do you get excited? I was expecting to have an "Oh, I can't wait what's next!" kind of excitement, but it was rather dreadful. "How long do I have to hold my breath this time?" As I'm typing this review, I'm embarrassed that this was even a reason to mention. But personal hygiene is a must and should be stressed for a pleasant experience for future patrons. As I look back months from now, my memory of a $1000 fine dining meal is overshadowed by poor etiquettes.Sadly, it was not worth the splurge or the wait.

I took my girlfriend to lazy bear last night for her birthday date and it was absolutely outstanding. I had to wait about two weeks for a reservation but the anticipation only continued to build and they definitely surpassed my expectations. The food was absolutely outstanding but most importantly, the service was phenomenal. I would defiantly recommend this restaurant to anybody. Thank you staff and chefs of lazy bear. Amazing! Also, we got the opportunity to meet the owner (David Barzelay) a great chef and an even better man.Additionally, one of the staffers (Monica) who served us wine, was amazing. Very detailed in her service. And last but not least, (skylar) has a great passion for his work. Definitely added some spark to our amazing night. Thank you all!

An amazing dining experience, fantastic food and wine, with a beautiful team

5/5 by 👻 @phil on 10/08/2022

I consider it a priviliege to have had a private dining event at Lazy Bear. From the moment we sat down at the communal table, with the open kitchen next to us, and had the introduction of the story of the restaurant, we knew we in for an amazing journey. Each dish was paired with a different wine, and we were given the story behind both, before enjoying the amazing flavours in front of us. The team were so friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to get to know us and were part of the evening. I took no photos as I was totally engaged with the event, and after finishing each course, your mind and conversation was totally taken with discussing the flavours and what would come next. I will definately return at some point, and it will live long in the memory. Thank you.

If there is no user posting that fits your schedule, you can bid on your preferred time.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Lazy Bear San Francisco at 6 PM the same day.

He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Lazy Bear San Francisco page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.

That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.

Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.

Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.

2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* ImmortalStep65, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* ImmortalStep65 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to ImmortalStep65 for any questions Peter may have as ImmortalStep65 user fills the bid.

3.) Finding the Reservation
* ImmortalStep65 now uses their connections at Lazy Bear San Francisco to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ImmortalStep65 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.

4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, ImmortalStep65 receives the $200 reward which is credited to ImmortalStep65's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Lazy Bear San Francisco!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
