Good food well cooked and beautifully presented in nice surroundings but the service was a little rushed.

We decided to make a quick day trip from San Sebastián to Biarritz because we wanted to cross the border to France and we had heard about saint jean de luz and Biarritz from a local. It was the best decision we made because of this restaurant. We sat close to St. Eugene's cathedral to figure out where to eat lunch and came across several michelin starred restaurants and we decided to walk into this one. It was SUPERB! We are all about fine dining and this place was small, cozy, with amazing customer service and let me just get started with the food already...Btw, if you're thinking price, 27 Euro for a michelin star restaurant lunch menu was NOTHING, especially for the quality and experience of this place. If you had to choose, I'd say for two, each should choose different dishes to try most of the menu. The foie gras, raviole, the Cochon (pork), risotto with mushrooms, the French toast and the vacherin. All of them to die for! A MUST if you're going to Biarritz.

There were 8 people in our party for lunch. We were seated immediately and waited on promptly. We all had the 3 course lunch and it did not disappoint! Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious and atmospheric little restaurant.
They serve basque specialties and I was really stunned by my butternut velouté and my suprême of chicken was very good too. Staff I knowledgeable, very polite and efficient. The place was packed on a Friday night and we really had a great time.
Be the first to ReplyWe waited more than 45 minutes WITH reservations.
Each time telling me the wait would be "5 minutes". They seated locals before us when they knew we were waiting and gave us different explanations as to why they were seated first. Then they wanted to put us in a sweltering hot dining room in August with no air conditioning. The one seat barely fit a single perosn, the other seat was exactly where the wait staff kept walking in and out of the kitchen. When I pointed it out to the wait staff, they seemed rushed and indifferent. The food was fine, but just that fine. They serve dinner with no fork and knife, say they'll bring one right back and don't... so my dinner was cold by the type.mybhusband got up and got me one of each. After all this, the waiters were unfriendly and rushed. Maybe they need to reconsider the business plan that includes being rude to tourists and serving them slightly above average food.
Be the first to ReplySmall, old-school restaurant serving excellent local food.
It is really a small place and they are usually packed - reservations in advance are recommended. Crowd made up of locals and tourists, generally tight seating. The waiters were very friendly. They have a rather small menu with simple, honest dishes served in generous portions. Best food I´ve eaten while in the area. Perfect for what it is.
Be the first to ReplyI should not recommend this restaurant as it is already
I should not recommend this restaurant as it is already difficult to find a table there. The 26 euros menu is really interesting, the dishes are original and delicate. The terrace is very agreable, as is the restaurant room in winter. One of the best deal in Biarritz.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is where the French eat.
Nuff said? OK then, how about really good value at 30 Euros per head + wine? Top class lady chef. Excellent front of house staff too. Not the fastest in the world, so just take your time and watch a real pro at work! All the food hot on your table. And what food! Interesting, imaginative and, if you want to be adventurous, that too!Small dining room, feels a bit like someone's private house. You can also eat under an awning in the front garden which is fine if the weather's good, but can be a bit cold if it's windy. You will usually need to book to get a table. We've eaten there 6 times and never been disappointed.
