One of our best meals in Seattle!
Wonderful neighborhood restaurant with upscale cuisine. Charming PNW decor with somewhat challenging street parking (as it is in a residential neighborhood along Fremont). We opted out of the Chef's Counter Service (prix fixe) along the open kitchen because there were so many menu items that we wanted to try. Firstly, the entire staff were so nice and helpful. Katrina helped guide our food choices while Katie recommended an amazing yet different wine that perfectly suited our palate. Bread service w added fois gras was excellent! Nice choice of breads (yummy honey butter & tumeric onions) paired nicely with rich velvety fois gras. Steak tartare was well-seasoned and plated as an appetizer. Seared octopus was very tender and a generous portion. The sweetbreads was the standout appetizer--even loved by my reluctant wife! Following these hearty appetizers, we decided to share the foraged mushroom dish (on their vegetarian menu) which was the best mushroom dish we have ever had. The cabbage and buttery mashed potatoes were a delicious bed for the tasty mushrooms! The lemon tart, port flight and sauterne were a delightfully sweet ending to our meal. This was one of our best meals in Seattle! A highly recommend--make your reservation now! We will definitely return.

Had a great brunch at Le Coin. The food is incredible. Both owners greeted us and asked us how the food and service was. Service was great. Busy place but you can see why. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyPleasant Neighborhood Eatery
We had a pleasant dinner at Le Coin. We arrived a half-hour before our reservation and were seated right away at a two-top by the window. We started with drinks - champagne for me and a vesper for my mate. Next starters - albacore crudo and the leafy green salad, both nice presented. Our main courses were the halibut and the New York steak. The halibut was a little dry but otherwise tasty. The steak was done exactly to order. The service was attentive without hovering. Le Coin is casual and the interior has a retro bistro look. The indoor sound level is "lively", but we were able to converse without shouting. Le Coin also has an outdoor seating area. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and will be back.

Time to update as Le Coin continues to wow with delectable combinations. Go try the latest muscle prep with delicate flavors and a few veggies, i love it for a main dish (meant to be an app)! The scallops are perfectly crusted and also nestled into a delightful medly of flavors. Into beef? Try the tomahawk or the steak & frite! YUM!!

Our brunch was asi asi. Meh. ok. We asked for fizzy water. Were unceremoniously handed two opened bottles for two of us for some strange reason. Croque madame was uninspiring. Bread pudding French toast was heavy but flavorful. It was topped with cold hard butter. Like I said MEH

Wanted to update a review on Le Coin, reviewed originally about a year ago. Continues to be one of my favorites in Seattle. Great neighborhood vibe, plenty of street parking on surrounding neighborhood streets, city corner that's a little oasis! 6 people at our table so we ordered many different things, all were perfect. Love the casual friendly service which is attentive without being intrusive. Ended up with two orders of the mussels SO GOOD! Fresh oysters AMAZING! Salmon and Tomahawk entrees were so delicious! If you haven't tried it, go and enjoy!

It was Resturant week in. Seattle and we leveraged their special 4 course menu with paired wines. The squash soup and chocolate dessert were magical. The main course of seafood risotto with scallops was excellent.. this romantic place is in Fremont and very worth a date night experience Enjoy the great service in a romantic setting !
Be the first to ReplyGreat Service and food! Definitely one of the best
We went here without any expectations. We ordered the octopus, terrine, and a few other random dishes like meatballs, and hericot verts with beans. Everything was delicious! The waitress explained everything on the menu and was very good at recommendations. There were some amazing flavors that we couldn't point out and she explained the cooking process. Overall, a highly recommended place.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Place for Dinner if You're a Foodie
We found this restaurant on the Tock App. We were very happy with our meal and service. They were packed last Saturday and we had to wait 10min past our reservation (not bad, we just went for a walk). The Host was very nice and apologized for the wait. Drinks were spot on. Mine: Vodka, soda, lime wedge, 1 splash bitters. Wife: Cab. Sauv then Red Blend. Waitress was excellent, engaging and attentive. The host that helped us would come around and engage us in conversation. Meal: Amuse Bouche - Foie Torchon on flatbread, Apps: 12 oysters, Foie Gras, Tempura crusted Yam. Mains: Tagliatelle with Leek / Legumes with Duck Confit and Foie Torchon. Dessert was home made chocolate with ice cream and crisps. Everything on the evening was perfect. Portions are on the larger side (nice for a french restaurant). Prices are very reasonable. Five stars. (don't know why Seattle times gave this place 2 stars - just wrong). FYI - Our favorites in Seattle: Terra Plata, Spinasse, Carlisle Room, Lark, How to Cook a Wolf, Kashiba.
Be the first to ReplyTHIS WAS OUR FIRST TIME AT THIS FUSION RESTAURANT
This restaurant poses a challenge to review. We thought it was French but it turned out to be fusion cuisine with some hints of pate, soup l'oignon, and French bread. The soup and dessert was actually better than the scantily-clad lamb cassoulet and the clumps of liver atop crunchy bread. I had a forgettable glass of Cabernet. The service overall was good, but with a hint of robot rhythm with repeated requests about how the food was? For some reason, I find these predictable interruptions to be annoying in their frequency. Parking was good. Prices a bit high.

Knowing very little about Le Coin, we did their New Year's Eve dinner for take out. The pricing was better than most other holiday set take out dinners. The food was absolutely delicious, well worth the drive to Fremont. We began with a lush seafood bisque, a tantalizing start with a light, but flavorful taste. Truffle Agnolotti pasta was certainly al dente, delicious, but I wanted more truffle. Please bathe me in truffles. A luxury at any dinner is Beef Wellington, maybe old school, but who cares. Of course a gravy sauce is traditional, but on the side, so the pastry stays crisp. Le Coin's Beef Wellington was wonderful. Next in this culinary marathon were scallops, very good, but I enjoy my scallops with a bit more sweetness. Dessert was very French, more a work of art than a humongous American dessert fit for a herd of Buffalos. The Chocolate Cremeux was a perfect ending. All this for $150! That was culinary larceny, and I was a damn happy thief. Le Coin, you done well. Useful Funny Cool

Take a culinary trip to France at this lovely little place tucked into a bustling corner of Freemont. Aptly named, Le Coin, feels like those sweet cafes hidden away on little corners amidst busy streets of Europe. Escape from a hectic day, sipping cafe au lait and nibbling on delectable cuisine. Don't expect fussy food here, but expect both fresh food prepared with care and purposeful variety as well as an ample bar. Whether it's grilled octopus, vegetables with Herbs de Provence (oh take me back to Marseille!) or simply the amazing burger and pommes frites, worth a little voyage to Freemont! If you don't want to dine on the patio (well heated and open air), there are ample options for take away.
Be the first to ReplyKind of a “fusion” of PNW & French cuisine
Enjoyable meal with friends. Nicely presented dishes, tasty well prepared, friendly staff, nice atmosphere ... I agree that the booths need cushions!! A little on the expensive side in my opinion.
