As a first time solo traveler to Paris, this place left a lasting impression on me. The place has an upscale feel, but I did not feel judged by coming in wearing sneakers and jeans. The staff was very welcoming. I do not speak French and my server knew very little English. Despite that, he was patient and accommodating. Everything was served in a timely fashion and was so delicious. I ordered off of the lunch prefix menu which is still a little pricey, but well worth it. I left with a nice little buzz and a happy stomach. I meant to write this two years ago, but never got around to it. It is a meal I still talk about. They really treat their customers well and create incredibly memorable dishes. I was very anxious about navigating Paris on my own and this was a treat to myself. Thank you for the wonderful service and meal.

Probably one of the best, if not the best pure seafood restaurants in the world, period hands down. Everything I tasted was top in class. Extremely high quality ingredients, perfect preparation and amazing service.

If you enjoy high end seafood then this is the place to splurge. The staff were very professional and friendly and was able to accommodate us in English. My wife ordered the thinly sliced scallops with black truffles and I ordered the crab salad to start. Both appetizers (entrees in French) were exquisite. We then had the fish for 2 which was prepared sous vide. it was quite possibly the best fish I ever had in my life (somewhat comparable to Le Bernardin in nyc). The fish was accompanied with black rice, stewed squash and plain steamed haricot verts. the dessert was amazingly delicious too. I forget what it was called but it was like a merengue swimming in syrup. We also had a bottle of a premier cru puligny montrachet which was a wonderful complement to the meal. Their wine list was extensive but not overwhelming and certainly offered a good selection of various white burgundies, even budget friendly ones. If I am ever back in Paris I am definitely returning here!

Beautiful fresh oysters, langustines, caviar, sea urchins, and assorted whole fish prepared table side. All done simply and perfect.

Formidable! A Paris secret for those who do not travel there often! The Lunch menu prix is delicious with wonderful selections for every pallet. The seafood was fresh, oysters sublime and every aspect of the restaurant is adorable and unique. You genuinely feel that you are in a boat and the atmosphere is unlike any other restaurant I have been privileged to dine at while in Paris. The lunch menu is extremely affordable for what you receive and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is traveling to Paris. We will definitely be bringing our family here over Christmas.

We ordered oysters & salmon with potatoes for apps. Both incredibly fresh and delicious. We both ordered the dover sole. Wow. This was easily the best dover sole we've ever had, better than il Mulino in NYC which is known to have one of the best. It was so good I couldn't stop eating. I could barely walk after leaving this place. I do not regret that though.
Be the first to ReplyOne of our favorite dinners we had in Paris during our stay.
We ordered a pan fried fish that was drenched in butter (Sole Meuniere I believe it's called?) It was one of the best things we've ever ate. I don't know what they do to that butter but WOW. That's the only way I can describe it. They present a whole cooked sole to you before filleting it. It's really heavenly and words can't describe how good it was. Really, effing, good. The dish came with creamed fennel and steamed potatoes which went perfectly with the fish. We didn't feel the salmon tartar was spectacular enough to order again and I would skip it. You'll get full enough from the sole dish. The fish looks huge but the serving size is enough for one person to get full. Don't split it, be greedy. You'll seriously not want to share this dish once you try it. The dish is very simple. Pan fried fish in butter, but the quality of that butter and the freshness of that fish is all you need. You won't be able to replicate anything like this back at home, it's truly the epitome of what you would imagine french cuisine is. One of my friends ordered something different that I can't remember the name but it was essentially shrimp in pasta with a tomato based sauce. It was alright I thought, the shrimp was fresh (comes with face on). As my friend described the tomato sauce as "a mix of cocktail sauce in ketchup" which seemed pretty accurate. I wouldn't order that dish but my friend quite enjoyed it. It's very large for one person so get it to share if you must. If you can only do 1 fancy dinner in Paris do it here. The sole dish was around $60 euro give or take but highly worth it. A small dessert is given after the meal as well. Their wine is excellent so treat yourself to a bottle with dinner. Their finest, cheapest, bottle was very good :)

Le Duc a DissapointmentLast weekend I went with my husband to Le Duc restaurant, after having heard very good opinions about it. What a dissapointment, starting with the food, the only good thing is the butter, the bread is terrible, then we asked for a fish soup that came out cold, w send it back and then came with no taste at all and the waiter said, they prefer the client to spice it, the we asked for a crab salad, the same think no season at all. For the main dish a Saint Pierre fish, that normaly is a great fish, but here was a complete waste. Talking about the service, it doesn´t exist, we waited long time for every thing and the wine, they never give us to taste, we had to serve it. After all that we didn´t dare to try the dessert.
