This is a must visit rooftop when you are in Chicago The LH rooftop has beautiful views of the river and all the surrounding architecture of the city. I highly recommend making the reservation for some appetizers and drink, as this will secure you a table with unobstructed views. You can always just walk in and get drinks at the bar, but I will say it was quite crowded on a Saturday afternoon. Even with that, I was able to get a drink pretty fast. The prices are reasonable and the cocktails were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend getting The Bad Bunny, which is their version of a Oaxacan Old-Fashioned and I have to say it's probably one of the better ones I've ever had. The decor is super fun and whimsical, the music was on point, and you really can't beat having these views with a nice refreshing cocktail in your hand

Great view from the roof, if you can get a spot away from the crowds. Other than that, pretentious, annoying, over-packed, and rude staff.

The entire reason to go here is the spectacular view of the river and the iconic architecture, and it's a good enough reason. It's really a unique and wonderful view, though the rooftop is tight and a bit cramped. Our specific server was also excellent, though you are clearly on a clock and the staff looks to clear servings immediately (so be alert if you want that last couple bites on the plate or sips in the glass!). Valet parking was a must and quite convenient. The food was good, but not at all great. We elected for mainly tapas style with a group of six. Drinks are merely average. The prices are to be expected for the location. We had a good time and loved the view. If we return it will be for drinks before dinner elsewhere in this great area of the city.

This is hands down my favorite rooftop spot in Chicago! I had a friend visiting from out of town, and I just had to bring him here. The place offers absolutely stunning views that give a holistic picture of how beautiful Chicago truly is. We arrived around 10 PM on a Monday night, and luckily, due to it being a weekday, there was no queue. We ordered the Bad Bunny and Forever Summer cocktails. Lately, I've been enjoying cocktails with refreshing flavors, so the Forever Summer was perfect for me. My friend, on the other hand, was looking for a stronger drink with more spirit, and he loved the Bad Bunny. Since we walked in late, there wasn't much seating available, but there are plenty of standing spots which worked just fine for us. I definitely recommend this place!

Loved the ambiance and view here on July 4th! Drinks were strong and the waitress gave us 2 free orders of the truffle fries! We booked a reservation for 5 to get seats (highly recommend) and we were able to stay much longer than the allotted 90 minutes as well :)

Great view of the city and river! Delicious options for drinks and the truffle fries portion was huge!! It had a very tasty and interesting black truffle dip along with ketchup. Service was a bit slow but you're really there to enjoy the views so you don't need your be rushed anyhow! We did encounter a long wait at the elevator and when we left to go back down to the lobby, the elevator wasn't working so was had to walk a flight of stairs or so to catch the elevators on another floor. If you have challenges walking you may want to avoid this place. You still have to walk a flight of stairs or so.

Entering the wonderland was a treat! The view was stunning and the decor was charming. We were seated promptly without any issues. As we savored espresso martinis and truffle fries, we soaked in the breathtaking view of Chicago. The espresso martinis were delightful with a robust coffee flavor, and while the liquor was subtle, it packed a punch! The truffle fries made for a perfect appetizer to share, ideal for 3-4 people. The black truffle dipping sauce was particularly delicious! Tip: Visit during quieter hours to avoid the rush, especially around 5pm when it gets very busy!
I know it's iconic but was honestly underwhelming.
Very crowded and slow service. Food was good but not great. Views are pretty good but there are better rooftops.

Three stars only for the drinks- bartender for Cali was friendly and makes awesome drinks! Waitress and food.. I don't know what was worse. Steak and chicken dry. Waitress dry as hell too.
Incredible City Views
Beautiful rooftop with incredible views. Only went for drinks. Recommend making a reservation if you wish to sit. It was packed on a Monday evening, long wait to get drinks and we could barely find a place to stand without being told to move by security. Worth the trip up for the views.
Great views, with decent food (on the pricier side).
There are no shaded areas on the rooftop but that wasn't an issue for us, the hostess made sure everyone knew this info prior to being seated. Also worth noting it's standing room only unless you order food. Food portions/prices were typical of a higher end restaurant. Overall, we enjoyed hangin on the rooftop and soaking up the sun!
Superior service & experience
While visiting Chicago we joined friends who live here. They recommended the LondonHouse Rooftop for drinks and dinner. The view was out of this world, and the drinks were creative and delicious. The food was good, and portions ample. The real standouts for the evening were our server Lily and Tony who did a fantastic job of keeping bar patrons from crowding our table. He was respectful, yet persistent. His presence made our meal so much more of an enjoyable experience. Lily was attentive and exceeded our expectations. In this climate of declining customer service, these two gems were real stand-outs!
Food was terrible no flavor at all I didn't enjoy any of it
Food was terrible no flavor at all I didn't enjoy any of it just the views. Service was okay our server was sweet and attentive but none of our food taste good not even the apps
Great view and food.
It's always crowded and the "bouncer" can be rude. It was a little hot, so need to figure out what to do as the heat rises. I would return.
If you plan on ordering drinks only it's a disappointment.
Over-priced cocktails and standing room only even if tables are empty.
Food and drinks were delicious! I ordered the Purple Rain
Food and drinks were delicious! I ordered the Purple Rain Sangria for my drink and the Kalbi Short Rib dish. It came with Grilled beef short ribs, Korean cheese corn, house-made kimchi, scallion, and sesame seeds. The ambiance was exceptional! The view of the beautiful city while enjoying the windy weather was an experience. The service was great as well!

On a beautiful sunny Sunday, this was the best place to soak the sun and view, and have a few drinks and healthy food. Services at the bar and table were great.
We tried brunch here and it did not disappoint.
We tried the NY steak with truffle potatoes, Banana cream pie French toast, lobster biscuits and gravy, shrimp and grits. All of the dishes were good, but the banana cream pie French toast is a must! I would come back just for that. We tried a few drinks, but the "purple rain" stood out the most. It is a sweeter cocktail, so if you like sweet, you will LOVE that. The service was good, can't complain. The view from this rooftop is so nice!
Rooftop
Great cocktails list. Particularly enjoyed the pineapple Paloma. Perfect city scape. Excellent service. Prices are a bit ridiculous but the drinks were stiff and views made it worth it.
Don't waste your time or money
A 1 star the menu on line is out dated. We went for the Calamari on their website and ambience. When we got ready to order no Calamari on the menu which left us to choose another option. Waitress recommended Truffle mushroom flat bread and crab Rangoon. Flat bread was small and tasteless especially for $32.00 and only 5 Rangoon with very little filling mostly pastry. Two cocktails and boll was $142.00. What a joke for the quality and value. Ambiance was nice but definitely not worth the price. The other two couples next to us also expressed their disappointment in not having updated menu and poor quality of food especially for the price. Would not have been as discouraged if food would have been a good quality. Would not recommend going. Save your time and money for another time and restaurant
Good
The place is beautiful. The drink and food were I little over price but were ok. We passed a good time the service wasnโt good and it was so hard to get a table. Great view. The ambience was great.Staff need to be more attentive.
Go!!!
Go!!!! Itโs the best rooftop bar Iโve been to! Itโs all things amazing. Great food, cocktails, and a view like no other. Make reservations a day in advance to give yourself a better chance at a table (if youโre having dinner). Itโs a solid spot, for sure!
Premium Prices - Disappointingly Average Experience
I was very excited to experience LH rooftop and had planned this trip into my travel schedule for months. When I arrived at the hotel I went through to the elevator area, there was a short queue which went down quickly. However there were no security and nobody checking any form of ID. Arriving into the venue I attended the downstairs bar area and was served by a pleasant gentleman who helped with my wine selection. One glass of wine was $19, this is a price I expected as I am well travelled and a price tag that comes along with a luxury experience. However once I entered the upstairs rooftop area, I can only describe this as a cattle market. The area was extremely over crowded. Whilst I understand that reservations are advised, areas with seating were cornered off, meaning all 'walk-ins' were confined to a small area (see images attached). There are a lot of people and a lot of empty tables. The views of the city are lovely, when you can get space near the side to take any form of video. There were a notable amount of guests who had not bought any form of drink at the bar and were freely enjoying the views and experience, capturing that 'instagrammable' moment free of charge. This is infuriating for paying customers - like myself, who have paid extortionate prices at the bar and cannot enjoy the view. If you were planning on dressing up for the occasion, personally I wouldn't bother. There seems to be no dress code, door policy and incredibly low standards of clientele, including intimidating older males who make solo travellers like myself incredibly uncomfortable. There is lack of security and I feel it is a matter of time until somebody has their drink spiked. My recommendations to LH Rooftop: โข Open out the restricted areas and reserved seating until the paying party arrives โข Restrict the number of people in the upstairs rooftop area โข ID, Bag check all customers โข Stick to the 'smart casual' dress code you advertise โข Additional security in the rooftop area โข Ensure guests are actual paying customers - take a payment for entry on the door โข Have your prices reflect the experience, as it stands I feel the drinks prices should be reduced by at least 20%. Alternatively provide a higher quality experience.
Terrible dinner at a dark and windowless indoor table
The website booking is very misleading, as the โbook nowโ button from the rooftop section of the website takes you to the indoor restaurant reservation page without making it clear that itโs doing that. So I thought we had a rooftop reservation for our last night in Chicago, and we were looking forward to it the whole trip, but it was actually for the indoor restaurant, which is dark and windowless. I would never have knowingly chosen it over all of the other options in Chicago. The food was super greasy and dripping with oil, the service was so bad we were without anything to drink for much of our meal and it took a long time to get our check, We left as soon as we could and agreed it was the worst meal we had while in town. They said we could go out onto the roof after our meal to see the view as though it would make eating inside worth it, but we were staying at the hotel so couldโve just taken the elevator to the top for a quick look around, which I wish we wouldโve just done instead. Very disappointing experience.
London House Rooftop
My friends and I meet in Chicago every year for an annual girls trip. We have been to London House on two of these trips. We came back due to the amazing view and experience we had the first time. We especially loved our waitress, Svetlana, and Martin. Svetlana made amazing suggestions for us with the food and drinks. Martin was also there to fill up our waters and ensure we had everything we needed. They are quality staff who made us feel special and taken care of the entire night. The manager was also great, as we needed some assistance with some other patrons. We will definitely be back. It was a great view, atmosphere, food, drinks, and staff. I cannot say enough good things about London House Rooftop.
Great atmosphere, poor service
The view from this rooftop is exquisite. It was packed on a weekend night and had a great vibe. The Mezzo Plate was delicious, especially the lamb sausage, but needed to come with more bread. We asked for more but it came after we were finished with dinner. The crab rangoon had too little filling. The grilled shrimp cocktail was delicious and so was the cocktail sauce. Drinks took too long each time we ordered.
5 star review
Natwas ready and willing to meet my every need she really makes the bar run smooth for her . Nattie is like the MVP of my dining experience and her knowledge whiskey untouchable. Also she is absolute delight to be around . Dusab is very down to earth his ability to connect to the guest is impeccable and it speaks highly of his character
Not worth the hype or money at all.
My sister, her friend, and I went here for dinner. They are from out of town and saw this place all over Tik tok and wanted to go for the views... First of all this is a place to visit in the summer, not winter, so you can sit outside on the rooftop. In the winter you are just sitting inside so it's nothing special. The food was sincerely mediocre. My sister got a Cesar salad that was not good (hard to mess that up in my opinion). Her friend got a Kale Salad and didn't like that either.... Although she said she wouldn't have ordered it if she noticed that there were apples in it so that was her fault for overlooking that. I personally got the lobster mac and cheese which was the only saving grace to this place. It was pretty decent but nothing to RAVE about... I wouldn't go just to get it again. We also started with the crab rangoon which were fine but not worth the price of them at all. Our server was just OK. Not super friendly/ attentive, but also nothing to complain about either. Overall skip this place, there are better rooftop options in the city. If you are dying to go, wait till it's nice out.
Had a good time last night.
Did not have time to decide where to have dinner. It's my birthday and it's chilly outside so we decided to look for closer option. My wife really did an amazing job choosing LH Rooftop! The Beef Bulgogi tacos was fantastic! The cake was utterly delicious! The staff was very accommodating!
Great ambiance and excellent serice.
Nicole went above and beyond even on a busy night. Food was great, I got the skewers and empanadas and they can super fas and flavor and presentation were on point. I recommend this place 100% they dont do same day reservations but if you are by yourself lr even a couple you don't mind eating at the bar you will be get this amazing bartender that even though she was super busy she took care of the whole bar guests with no issues. I give 5 stars for the whole experience but if there were more stars I would totally give them to the Amazing Bartender!

Reservation is needed for this place! We had a delightful experience at LH Rooftop. The ambience is calm, cool, and collective. The King Crab Benedict was flavorful and the bread was soft. Very easy to chew and savor. It's a 1 1/2- 2 hour max time frame. I will definitely return on my next trip to Chicago!
This is by far the worst restaurant i've been in Chicago.
The beef short rib is the worst. It's like a pre- marinated beef you can get at H-Mart. It's tough and burnt. I would not recommend this place. Price is expensive for the quality of food they serve, $26 for this short rib.
Only reason this gets 2 stars is because my 18$ drink
Only reason this gets 2 stars is because my 18$ drink tastes good. First off, good luck getting to the roof. The elevators make absolutely no sense and you will be sent to various locations and even the basement. What happened to simple elevator buttons? If you are looking for the "rooftop" and made a reservation, good luck again. You will be sent to a windowless room with an extremely generic ambiance. It is an Applebees with EDM playing. Ask to go to the rooftop? With the great views? May I wish you good luck again. We requested to go up, closed our check and then had the doors to the "view" LITERALLY slammed in our face. The response we got was lackluster and our server brushed us off like nothing. With all this being said, I'm disappointed, and the "hype" around this "rooftop" is unwarranted.
This was my first time in Chi town visiting a cousin.
A friend recommended this place for the food and the view. We were immediately enticed by the atmosphere and vibe of the rooftop. And then the food came out... the sight and smell was AMAZING. I got the chicken and waffles, and it was exquisite. The service was also top tier - immediately filled water cups, very fast service, and our waitress even offered me a stain removal solution for a spill on my sweatshirt! Overall 5/5, amazing experience. Only minor downside, which admittedly is a Chicago theme, was the price of the drinks relative to the size. Will be visiting again!!!
Every time we've come to this hotel and stayed we
Every time we've come to this hotel and stayed we contemplated coming to the restaurant, but the hostesses have had major attitude and always questioned us about being guests of the hotel. They treated us as if we were lower class citizens of which we are not. My daughter is here for ballet auditions. We came up in the afternoon and asked if we needed reservations and they said no. When we came to dine at 8pm the same hostess asked if we had reservations and we said no so she seated us at a terrible table by the kitchen. The food is lacking and not good quality. Calamari was horrible. I will not be returning.
This rating is for the high tea and service.
I can't really speak on their regular menu. I came here for a girl's brunch/high tea and I genuinely left feeling like I flushed money down the toilet. I been to a few other high tea's and this was really the worst. The hostess was busy checking her phone and had a lot of snooty attitude. It's not really the welcoming I expect at a $85 per person experience. Our server was okay but we had to ask for things repeatedly. The food is really bad. Like, I'm not exaggerating when I say something things felt inedible. There was one thing I thought tasted AMAZING which was a orange scone (I'm not sure if it was an orange but it was citrus-y. The other items were so off. The savory items were either soggy, stale, or had just a weird taste. The desserts tasted too sweet or stale. My friends and I all agreed we wanted to get our money back. Also, one of the perks of high tea is that it's "unlimited" yet our server did not ask if we wanted any more of anything. As soon as it hit the one hour mark, we were asked to leave and were told "there are people waiting, you know". Are you freaking kidding me? The location of the tea was weird too, it felt like we were having high tea in a waiting room. I highly recommend ANY OTHER places for afternoon tea unless you only care about aesthetics of the food. I admit the food looked beautiful but that was the ONLY good thing. I will not be back, I just couldn't justify it.

The view from the rooftop is amazing! Our server was attentive but the food was okay. I got the birria ramen because I wanted something savory and soup for my hungover - definitely not the Birria ramen I was expecting like the one from LA lol. The soup was thick and did not taste like consome, also the noodles seemed to stick together and there was one spoonful of noodles that were stuck together (kind of like they were left at the bottom of the pot and was scraped off). They definitely tried to make it more of a fusion by adding bokchoy and kimchi but imo the kimchi did not go well with the ramen. My friend said that the salad was really good and the chicken was perfect so two thumbs up for that one.I'd definitely bring my friends and family here only for the view and experience but will tell them that the food is nothing special.
Stay away from the sweet board
After waiting forever for our first course, the food was not very tasty. It actually seemed reheated. The next course was just as bad, and the sweet course at the end consisted of m&m's, a Hershey bar cut into pieces, rice krispie trests, and some crackers and over ripe fruit. For $300 a couple I was at least expecting decent food. And they could have included some Godiva chocolates, at least. The only redeeming thing was the view from the rooftop. Definitely not worth the money that was spent.
Spectacular Views
Wowza, Chicago isnโt short on big boy buildings with great views, but as many guide books advised, this is one of the best, my favourite vista being over the river, photo attached. The rooftop looked especially pretty in December, being decked out for Christmas. Bit of a scrum getting a drink, but definitely a worthwhile visit.
Top Notch
I visited the LH Rooftop back in September. I was told it is one of the best views in the city and it truly is Spectacular ! I was in a bit of hurry and explained this to a Server named Shab and despite being very busy she snagged me a table and got my order and a drink and had me eating within 8 min of walking in! The Vibe was buzzing the food was hot and Fast ! I had the CHILLA KILLAS ! FIRE!! I felt rich and important which i am neither so that felt nice ! 10/10 but Shab was the X Factor ! She cared! Im Coming Back FOR SURE!
