Somewhat Disappointing
Went for lunch with the family. Ordered the tuna tatami. Waiter came back and said they were out. Ordered the octopus. Waiter came back and said they were out. Lunch menu is not extensive to begin with. Prices are high. I will not go back
Be the first to ReplyGreat Food, Tight Quarters.
We liked Lola Taverna. The food is excellent and the wait staff is attentive. I had Sea Bass and spanakopita and it was delicious. The downside is that they pack you in to a small space in rather uncomfortable chairs. My wife and I felt like we were having dinner with the couple about 12 inches from us.
Be the first to ReplyVery average Greek food in a crowded noisy space.
Very average Greek food, served by a waiter who was a bit triggered. They were out of the Lavraki, but didn't tell us until we started to order, so I ended up with a miniscule piece of taste free salmon served alongside what was supposed to be snow peas, but what I got was a chopped pile of some green stuff in a puddle of oil. It more resembled an environmental disaster than a tasty side dish. I won't be returning. The only bright spot was the fantastic bartender.

I had an amazing experience in this restaurant! The food was so delicious and super tasty! And I ordered a drink with mezcal, and they made an exceptional and very good drink! Thank you for everything guys!

I'm shocked this place has such a low rating, we had such an amazing experience here from the staff and service to the food and vibe. First off, the food is coursed out so they give suggestions if asked and take the order all at once so that they can slowly give us different items. Food: We got 3 dips (hummus, muhamarra, and tzatziki) and all three of them were so good! The pita that it comes with is fresh and hot and I LOVE that! They also give you a lot of pita so you never feel like you're going to run out. For Mezze we got the Saganaki Fondue, Spanakopita Spring Rolls, Impossible Meatballs, Toasted Halloumi, and Grilled Eggplant. All the food was delicious and definitely memorable. Service: The service was great. All the staff were very friendly and were always open to offering suggestions. They also did a very good job explaining how the food would be coursed out. Price: The restaurant was on the pricey side. There were three of us and our total came out to over $90/person. Keep in mind only one of us got a drink. For food we got the pikilia (3 dips) and 5 mezze items so it felt a little pricey. Each mezze item was over $20 and the entrees were even higher. Ambiance: The vibe of the restaurant is amazing. The florals and decor really adds to the romantic and beautiful atmosphere. You can also tell that they spent time figuring out the best utensils and dish ware to use to match everything else.
Be the first to ReplyMoldy vegetables at a high end restaurant?
I don’t usually write reviews but I feel compelled to let potential customers know about this and hope the restaurant can turn things around. Summary: I was served moldy cucumber (see pictures) this past week as part of a crudite plate. I called over the manager who explained that they “received a bad shipment today” and that they “would not longer be serving the crudites this evening”…but... 1) What sanitary and quality practices do they have in the kitchen that would prevent them from seeing mold on vegetables received and prepared today? 2) As I left the restaurant, in spite of their reassurances, I saw other people getting served cucumbers. Concerning. Second: a note on value/pricing: you will see at the top the picture the 3 “Pikila”/dips that the restaurant has as an appetizer. There were about 3 tablespoons of dips in each case, and the dish cost about $30. This is roughly equivalent to the top Greek restaurants in the country (e.g. Kokkari in SF), but I don’t think the quality or taste justifies it. Their wine list is also quite richly priced - $17/glass for bottles that retail at about $18/bottle. Positives: the vibe is fun and lively on a summer evening. And, our server dealt with the mold situation appropriately, promptly, and professionally (in fact, that’s the only reason I hesitated for a few days as to whether to write this review, and the reason for two stars instead of one).

This restaurant is awesome. The appetizers were incredible. We could have made a complete meal of all the different appetizers. We had the lamb chops also, and they were equally as incredible as the appetizers.
Be the first to ReplyNice Brunch Option
While we won't be running back soon, we really enjoyed the brunch at Lola Taverna. Nice waiter, pleasant surroundings and tasty food. Relaxing environment, and lovely brunch options that step outside the mainstream.

Had a late lunch here. Lunch/brunch menu is kind of small but everting on it looked really great. Our meals were perfectly prepared

We were really excited to try this restaurant. However, 40 minutes after the chicken kebabs my daughter was covered in sweat and vomiting in our UBer. We tried to call to notify them so others wouldnt also get sick, but just as when we tried to reach them about our reservations no one answers the phone and voicemail is full. Unfortunately we missed Hamilton and it was too late to sell the tix. Pretty much a horrible night.
Be the first to ReplyGreat atmosphere and food
Absolutely delicious. The atmosphere/aesthetic is so beautiful here as it has an indoor/outdoor covered in pink flowers. We started with various dips (comes with homemade pita, I believe)and then moved onto entrees. I had the lola salad with shrimp and (as a salad lover) it was one of my favorite salads. Super filling and delicious. I really recommend going here.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect meal and service while watching the Halloween parade.
We just came back from having the most amazing dinner right next to the Halloween parade. Kudos to the staff for their professionalism during pandemonium. Food and drinks were top notch. Winner were the warm pita with delicious dips, the saganaki fondue, fried eggplant and of course the Lola salad.

CONS
There is actually nothing cons
Cant miss this place, perfect for a brunch, please make a reservation
Excellent food and service
Charming eatery, with one of the most lovely outdoor seating areas in New York City. Server was exceptional. Large portions with beautiful presentation. Big Island salads and Egg Sandwixh are winners.
Be the first to ReplyGorgeous outdoor seating, great food and service
Why eat anywhere else during a pandemic? So much outdoor seating, even the indoors felt outdoors. And, delicious food. Husband had branzino and I had the impossible kebabs - more than enough food for 2, but so glad we got the spring rolls too. Everything delicious. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth the HYPE!!!
We went for dinner last night 6/12/21 and had a horrible dinning experience. For a Michelin Star
Restaurant our server Ashley was so so we felt.
Drinks were overpriced and so was the food. We ordered the lamb chops which came raw and pink when we had specifically said well done and the crispy artichoke came burnt. What got my goat was they reheated the lamb chops rather than give us a fresh plate of lamb chops. A sign of a good restaurant is when they remake a order that is not up to par.
I appreciate a good meal but I found this experience to be utterly dismal and dissapointing.
Wont be recommending to anyone !!
