The monkfish was superb! Call ahead and ask for a table in the secret garden.

Tonight while in London my sister and I chose to have reservations at this Gordon Ramsay location. I have to say I am quite pleased!! I also looked up some articles regarding gluten intolerance in the US verses in the UK and today decided to let myself go a bit. There are many people who find they do not have the same reactions. Stay tuned for follow up on this. We were blown away right from hitting the door! The decor is upscale, modern, and chic on the inside then you step straight into some kind of old world oasis in the secret gardens. The hostess and every server we passed as we made our way to the garden smiled genuinely and said hello. Even the chefs as we passed the kitchen! From there the service remained impeccable! Service clearly gains 5 stars! For the appetizer my sister and I shared the tamarind spiced chicken wings. These were cooked very well!! Crispy, yet moist and delicious. The tamarind spice was insanely perfect for any palate. The heat just ever so slightly present in the background. It took 4 wings for my mouth to notice it was getting warm. I only missed a hint of sweetness. For our entree my sister and I agreed we had to have the confit duck and I swear my eyes rolled in the back of my head with EVERY SINGLE BITE! It again was moist, tender, fall off the bone yet with a perfectly crispy skin that I do not understand!! The butter beans with just a hint of mustard and a bed of cooked spinach...I HATE cooked spinach! Well... I thought I did anyway. Every bite was absolutely divine!!For dessert we very much enjoyed the tiramisu. It is slightly different from the US but in every wonderful way. The flavors are more subtle, not over sweet. Obviously food freshness and quality gains 5 stars. Ambiance and cleanliness... well as I mentioned above the decor is spot on! My only critical observation is that there were multiple spider webs on the outside decor and dust! I was seated right next to a spider friend in the plant as well. This would have been very bad for me once upon a time. Others... may not be so okay with that. So ambiance and cleanliness gains 4 stars as every other place was immaculate! I believe that brings this location to 4.5 stars but alas... we don't do that here. 5 Stars! Great job team Ramsay!

This was a fantastic way to end our vacation. Everything we expected it would be. Cozy, comfortable, lovely host and wait staff. Food was the best we had all week.

The experience was absolutely superb! We had Cornish Mackerel for appetizer which was so sublime! Then we had the beef Wellington. It was perfect! I don't think it can be any better!!!!! It was beyond amazing and we were just so happy! We enjoyed every bite! Absolutely recommend it! By the way, the service was excellent!

The food was delectable including the desserts.Customer service was excellent and worth its 12.5% surcharge.Ambiance music was conducive to having conversation.Washroom here is much better than at the other establishment.Worthwhile having dinner here while on vacation (or not) in London.

My 13-year-old son and I were visiting from the US and wanted to eat at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, since we watch Master Chef and Hell's Kitchen together. Gordon's London French restaurant was likely out of our price range, and my 13-year-old isn't one for French cuisine (yet). After a day of sightseeing, we made our way to Battersea. I didn't find it to be the easiest place to get to; we got off the Tube and transferred to a light rail line to get to Clapham Junction. From there, it was a 15-20 minute walk to the restaurant. Afterwards, we took a lengthy walk back to our hotel in South Kensington. We visited on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was mostly empty. As an American, I found that service in the UK was quite a bit slower and less attentive compared to what I was accustomed to; not sure if this is related to American tipping culture but this observation was on full display in our visit to Gordon Ramsay's London House. This took me by surprise as Chef Ramsay's expectations regarding service on Hell's Kitchen are quite high. It took us awhile to be noticed in the doorway and seated. We had a variety of staff visit our table through the meal, but our contact with the staff was pretty infrequent. Empty drinks, lack of follow-up after entrees to ensure everything was as expected, that kind of thing. The wait staff was friendly enough, but this rather unimpressive showing in service is the reason this is a 4-star review instead of 5.Food was terrific. We started with salads. My son had a Caesar (who are we kidding - I had some of it too!) and I had an Asian-inspired salad with duck. It was wonderful. As an entree, my son had pumpkin gnocchi and I had a ribeye steak with Paris butter cooked a perfect medium rare. For dessert, my son had creme brulee and I had sticky toffee pudding for the very first time. The toffee pudding was divine and easily the best thing I ate in London. You pay a premium here for the Gordon Ramsay name versus what the meal is; but as fans of his entertainment on TV I am glad we came. Service was a shade disappointing but food certainly lived up to the Gordon Ramsay mystique.
Be the first to ReplyBest fish and chips I have ever had.
The scotch eggs were terrific. Wonderful friendly service. Charming, relaxed ambience.
Be the first to ReplyAnother Gordon Ramsay that we just had to try.
Made reservations as quickly as I could. This place seems rather new, from the inside but has been in business for 4+ years and not many people know about it. From the beginning both managers came and talked with us about this restaurant and the menu and the other Gordon Ramsay restaurants we have been to around the globe. It was so fun and entertaining to spend time with these 2 gentlemen. We tried 10 items and had plenty to take to back to the hotel. Not a single complaint on any one item except the Christmas pudding was a bit weird and we aren't a fan of that style of dessert. Such a fun cozy quiet place to enjoy a wonderful meal with outstanding service!

We came for Christmas dinner on Christmas night and it was a solid experience. We wanted a place with good service that was comfortable rather than stuffy, and that's the vibe we got (also important that it was walkable from our hotel since public transportation is non-existent on Christmas -- we had a lovely walk through pretty neighborhoods, across the bridge, and along the Thames to get here). The set menu had enough choices to keep things interesting, with good vegetarian options and creative non-alcoholic cocktails. The service was a little uneven -- our main server was amiable if a little scattered (given long service and not many vacation days recently, which he talked about with multiple tables); other servers/plate carriers were considerably less useful (one even getting chided in earshot in the dining area about it). The food itself was generously portioned and generally good, but nothing particularly special ... maybe this is what one should expect for a holiday meal that has to please the tourist crowds. So yeah, everything was a-okay. If the price tag had been a little lower, I'd probably up it to four yelp stars, but the cost to value ratio and some service oddities leaves it at just a three star experience.

Ofering an excelent dining experience!! MasterChef semi-finalist Ben Piette cares a lot about the provenance and seasonality of the products, whether it is the meat, fish, vegetables or wine.In April 2016 "The London House" moved from Old Woking to a more modern location in West Byfleet (Station Approach). The foodies and gastronomic critics praised his new restaurant and cusine as "amazing food" and "low-key and very stylish environment". Modern European in style, British ingredients & French at heart.

Meh. Gordon Ramsay seems to cook well on TV. In real life his restaurants leave something to be desired. The cold pea soup had a chalkiness to the texture. The sole with browned butter, in addition to being exorbitantly expensive was bland and the browned butter sauce would more fairly be termed a small, flavorless oil slick. The chicken Kiev was dry, though the truffle mash and kale were delicious. The beer selection on tap is sparse and disappointing. On the upside, the fish & chips was superior to others we tried in London, though for £17.50, it really should be.
Be the first to ReplyLoved everything about this place.
The decor is so cool. Wish we arrived even a little earlier to enjoy some time on the comfy chairs. Staff welcoming. Had just about everything on the menu between the wife and two teens. Sourdough very good. The chicken live pate' was incredibly tasty. The starter peppers were perfectly roasted and salted. I loved the roast beef with Yorkshire pudding. My daughter's fish and chips with haddock was crispy and perfectly seasoned. Everyone's favorite of the four was the Chicken Kiev. Lamb was good as well. Favorite dessert was the Cambridge Burnt Cream for sure. Large, sweet and creamy.

(Ohio Players song Fire plays endlessly in ur head 4 the whole entire review // a taste of Mr. Ramsay's own medicine Hell's Kitchen theme currently playing)we came 2 London as big Gordon Ramsay fans n that's not going 2 change; we planned 2 originally go 2 his Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, but that sh*t is booked up all the way 2 March n I don't have money 2 stay that long.. so let's do some of his other restaurants, which he has tons of n try 2 collect (meaning visit) as many as we can just like Pokémon I guess.. 1 of them isLondon Houseyes, London House.. told our cab driver n he was like there r so many London Houses, which 1 r u talking about? the 1 by Battersea, Gordon Ramsay's.. driver stopped near there n he was like it is around here n I looked n turned 2 the back window n it was actually behind us.. oh so confusingwe walked in n my wife brought up that it doesn't feel like a Gordon Ramsay restaurant @ all n that is true b/c w/out the name u would think it's just another restaurant.. I mean even his steak restaurant in the Paris Las Vegas actually feels like his restaurant, this 1 doesn'tthe diners were very informal even though they were all dressed up, some weren't; they gossiped; talked about boring stuff; yeah, the lack of music being played or @ a low volume increased my ear-hustling skills.. so everybody have fun!(just checking in - the Fire song is still playing in ur head)so now, who's our server? 1st 1 nodded n repeated our drink order after repeatedly asking me wat did I want n me constantly repeating myself.. yes, @ a Gordon Ramsay establishment.. service is already going down in flames b4 it even started.. I think I hear a fire truck coming along the street.. no it's just an ambulanceanyways after she left n went back up 2 her ordering screen, she talks 2 another server n that server ended up clarifying wat we wanted 4 drinks.. drinks came n mine was f*cking disgusting.. I can picture myself just like Gordon Ramsay being mean n spitting out nasty food from his mouth towards contestants n me in turn, spit out this drink in front of him.. @ all means! don't order their Knickeroni Glory or any drinks @ all b/c they r so f'ing disgusting here! if u had 2, I advise regular drinks like wine, beer or shots(now.. we got thru the bad part.. here's the good!)OH! the Chicken Liver & Duck Fat Pate was so good; the liver was like mousse where the fat came in on the top, mix it 2gether n spread it in2 the big flaky toast which tasted like a croissant n u r in heaven! that was the best thing I have had from Gordon.. my wife had their Caesar n I liked it b/c it had lots of fresh anchovies in itthe Scottish red deer was cooked perfectly like a steak n I don't know how but Gordon does the best potatoes I mean my wife's burger fries were really good n the hash brown that came w/ mine was perfectly crisp unique texture.. n of course, I saved some of my pate 4 the main course n I believe they r not used 2 it there n wanted 2 take my app away! I say no I want 4 my meal.. so give it back, me no want ur nasty hands 2 touch touchthe pate just adds another dimension 2 the red deer.. good good.. so good, me full.. end of mealbut would I come back? no, b/c there r plenty of his other places 2 try
