Food was delicious, ambiance was cute & cozy euro with a packed house, and the service was the best. Michael D. was conscientious, funny, and generous with us. I would absolutely return for the tartare and the bread pudding dessert he recommended. It heals all pain (while it's still in front of you).

Finally tried this place as I organized a friend's birthday brunch last Saturday. Beautiful restaurant, the decor, the vibe, especially when it's a bright sunny day. We had one of the larger best tables indoors as I requested for a good table. Slater attended to us and he was friendly and took good care of our group. Most of our group had the steak and eggs combo which also came with fries. Pretty good but everyone immediately commented on such small portions compare to other brunch places. Taste was good though. As for me, I went for the burger that day thankfully and it was delicious. The cocktails were good and loved their presentation, I had Fire Bird which was tequila based and was refreshing! For dessert, we order Creme brulee which was nice but the real star of the show was the Croissant Pudding. We almost wanted to order another one but restrained ourselves lol. Overall bill was $433. Definitely not cheap, but worth trying. Looking forward to going back for dinner. Merci, LOULOU.

Nice atmosphere. Good food. Our server Rodrigo was excellent.

I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately, the experience fell short. I came here on a Saturday night with a group of 6 people. The restaurant is beautiful, dim lit, and romantic. We were seated at a half circle table booth which would've been perfect for 4 people, however we were 6. It was so squished! We asked to be seated at a bigger table and the hostess was not super helpful, offering us to sit outside instead. Our server, Michael, was absolutely fantastic and told us if we wait a bit he can have us moved to a bigger table which he quickly did. Things happen but we had a reservation for 6 so not sure why that had us assigned to a tiny table to begin with. We started with ordering some of their signature cocktails which were all tasty and beautiful; the presentation really made it an experience with the drinks. Our group decided to get appetizers and share so we ended up ordering most of the appetizers on their menu. Potato leak soup- 10/5!!!! This was the absolute star of the entire meal for many of us. It comes with smoked trout. The flavors are so unique but perfectly balanced. I can't recommend this enough. Frisée salad-3/5. This was a basic frisée; nothing bad and nothing special. Merguez- 4/5. This was pretty good, I especially liked the balance between the slight spice in the sausage and freshness of the green sauce. Mussels- 3/5. These would have been great but 60% of the mussels were empty... maybe more. The sauce was so yummy, we enjoyed some of the bread dipped in sauce just wish there was actually mussels in the shells. Octopus-2.5/5. It was inconsistently cooked - some parts were nice and charred while others were undercooked. Escargot-3/5. Not bad, not good. The sauce was a little lackluster in terms of seasoning. Texture was fine, I would have liked it be be a bit more buttery as far as texture. Baked camembert- 4.5/5. Our group thoroughly enjoyed this! You definitely need to eat it right away to get that delicious gooey warm cheese texture. It is complemented with a lavender honey that enhances its flavor and several bread crisps. Steak tartar- 4/5. It only came with one piece of bread which is laughable- it's an appetizer!! Not the most "shareable" plate. The steak itself was fresh and seasoned well. Fois gras- 5/5. Rich, creamy, delectable, buttery dish! A French staple well done. Grilled shishito peppers- 5/5. Incredible!! These weren't your basic grilled shishitos, they had a lovely kick of lemon which leveled up the flavor. Truffle fries- 4.5/5. A basic good truffle fry- you can't go wrong! Perfectly crisp. Now, for the dessert! WOW! The croissant pudding was one of the most unique and excellent desserts I have had in a long time. It almost tasted like a chocolate chip cookie, monkey bread, and croissant mixture with a generous scoop of ice cream. This is an absolute must try; I would consider returning just to get this dessert! We also ordered the apple tart which some of the apple lovers in the group said is the best apple dessert they've ever tried. This restaurant does dessert right! The service from Michael was amazing throughout our entire dining experience. He was attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. It was really the food that fell short for our group (excluding the dessert). This restaurant has potential and if you do happen to find yourself dining at LOULOU, try the leak soup and dessert options - those will not disappoint!
Be the first to ReplyMay 4th just left after 6 star service.
our sever was Rodrigo ,by far best person for our large party. He was so attentive and patient. He went above and beyond to meet the various request from each of the 12 members. To handle each guest with a smile.
Be the first to ReplyWas there celebrating a coworker's birthday Tuesday.
What started out as a good time changed quickly. The steak was overcooked. As a resolution, the manager offered free dessert and drinks for the table. They gave us crème brûlée without asking if we prefer that. The birthday girl can't eat it. She requested the bread pudding instead. We were charged for it plus a $75 fee for a large table. There was only four of us! The manager did remove the dessert and "large" table charges afterwards. We never got those free drinks. On top of that, the waiter ignored us after a certain point. He didn't even come back with the bill. We had to ask another staff member for it. Not that prices should equate to the level of service but for the amount we paid, I expected better than that. It's a one and done. Not going back.
Be the first to ReplyI enjoyed my drink but I've had better cocktails for less.
In a city with elite cocktail offerings, I do admit, I was expecting more. When I'm ready to spend $100 on 3 cocktails, I'll come back and try some of their others. Service was good and the restaurant/bar looked cool on the inside.

This is my new favorite restaurant! Delicious authentic French cuisine in a modern atmosphere. The escargot, mussels and lamb chops were incredible. Superb service. Such an inviting place!!

I got the croissant French toast and bacon and it slapped

My parents and I went to dinner and left with food poisoning from the oysters. Been violently ill since, not impressed at all.
Be the first to Replyi finally got to see their speakeasy.
10/10 the band on monday night was very talented i loved the music and the libertan cocktail. it felt like i time traveled, especially because of the entrance.

A colleague and I came here for a Sunday night dinner, and this is such a happening spot with amazing drinks and food! The restaurant was not busy when we arrived around 6:30pm, but then by the time we left at 10pm, it was so busy! We ordered several dishes to share, such as the baked Camembert, roasted beets salad, brussels sprouts and a whole roasted branzino. All of the dishes were so delicious! And to top it off, the drinks were delicious! I order an adorable drink that was served in a bathtub, and it came with a mini-duck which I was able to keep as a souvenir! We ended up staying for 3+ hours chatting the night away, and the servers were attentive and did not rush us at all, which I appreciate. Only downside to our experience was that the speakeasy bar next door was closed on Sundays. Guess we'll have to return!
Be the first to ReplyFine, good enough, not horrible.
If you've been to France, you will not find Loulou authentic, or particularly well executed. The food is fine, the service is excellent, the ambiance is lovely. Definitely overpriced for what it is. Baby beet salad was flavorless, except for the strange mustard grain aftertaste. Unsalted as well. Duck confit was good, celery root puree was too. It was the best part of the meal. Mussel sauce was good, but mussels were overcooked and rubbery. Sancerre on the menu is always good... It wasn't a disaster, but I don't need to go back.

Let me start by saying the place is super cute and has great vibes, both indoor and outdoor. Very "instagrammable" environment, but classy. The servers were very friendly too. The food we got was all pretty good, and their coffee and tea drinks were delicious. But the highlight for me, the dog-friendly atmosphere indoors and outdoors, and they even have a doggy menu! I love that for people who have well-behaved friendly dogs! Hopefully, we will be back, I know my dog would love to come back too!

Food took forever to come out and was just ok! Steak sandwich was pretty good, but I really didn't like the fries. Drinks were cute and creative and very strong hahha
Be the first to ReplyWent here for brunch and had the croissant French toast.
It was so good! Crunchy on the outside, soft inside and I could control how sweet it was since the syrup was on the side. Americano was flavorful, not watery. I thought the prices were reasonable as well, especially for the portion sizes given. We sat in the little outside seating area which was nice and warm. Our server Rifat was very attentive. Overall a wonderful experience!

I finally had a chance to try this spot with a friend after having walking past it for years. We ended up getting some really cute cocktails, grilled artichokes, pork belly and seared scallops, cavatelli, and creme brûlée. The pork belly was a bit salty, but otherwise the food overall was really good. My favorites were the cavatelli and creme brûlée. The drinks also tasted as good as they look, which was nice.It did take a while for us to receive our entrees but the staff was very apologetic and were kind enough to adjust our bill accordingly. Ultimately it was a m good experience in a really beautiful space!

I really wanted to like this place and had high hopes but it ended up being a bummer. We went for my birthday while visiting nyc. We are from Chicago so we were really excited to be in another city with more great restaurants! The service was good, attentive and friendly. The hostesses weren't that friendly but that didn't bother us. Unfortunately the food completely missed. French onion soup was quite salty but it was fine. The baked camembert was good, very simple camembert with honey. For our mains we shared the mussels and the steak Au Poivre. The mussels were so fishy and not fresh at all - and the sauce was just a salty broth, not good at all (our server did offer a 50% off for the mussels since I let them know how fishy they were). The steak was horrible, supposed to be a New York strip but it was definitely more of a skirt steak - so tough and tasted like charcoal, the sauce was so awful too. The fries were fine (may have been the best thing we had). The creme brûlée was great! The ambiance is great - we really wanted to like this place because the vibe and drinks are great. Unfortunately we will not be back, we love good food and this was just a huge disappointment.
Be the first to ReplyStopped by for a quick cocktail in this cute bistro.
The bartender was great and served us promptly and was helpful in guiding our selections. Drinks were strong, tasty and unique. My friend's drink was served in a mini bathtub with a rubber ducky! Suggest going on a less busy day of the week because it was pretty loud on a Friday night.
Be the first to ReplyLou lou gave me French country side vibes.
They have beautiful flower decorations on the outside and inside of the restaurant. The hostess was very accommodating to our bridal party of 9. They even gave the bride a complimentary glass of champagne. I ordered the croissant French toast which was delicious. There fries were also amazing. They were crispy and salted perfectly. Everyone else ordered steak and eggs. The steak had great flavor. The staff was very friendly and I enjoyed the fact that the music wasn't so loud so you could still hear everyone talk.
Be the first to ReplyOverall rating: 4.
2I can appreciate an expensive brunch & I love love love the decorations outside - however I think this place is overrated. The bird drinks are $22 & the quantity looks soo small. Why would I want to get that? The mussels were chill and the tuna tartare was good. But it wasn't the best I've had for the $50 price tag I was paying.I have no plans on coming back here.

Food and drinks for brunch are amazing! French toast, omelette, burger - all great. Service was great, seating was just slow Wouldn't be able to really offer thoughts on ambience as my visit was with seating outside on a late spring Sunday

What a lovely little afternoon dining bistro! The upper interior was reminiscent of rustic old world living. It was too early to check out the subterranean Speakeasy this time though. Thoroughly enjoyed the creamy baked Camembert with warm and crusty, sliced baguette! My Frisée salad was fresh and loaded with plenty of crispy pancetta; so much so, that I needn't have asked for the added grilled (and flavorful) salmon! Our knowledgeable server, Sleyter S recommended the Yellowfin tuna sandwich with (yes!) apple. My companion raved! Our French wines were excellent too.Finished with an Americano (sorry, no decaf options) and the delightful Apple Tart.Prices was reasonable too. Lastly, we each used one of the 3 different, single-stall restrooms - one cooler and bawdier than the next! Fun times!
