Lure Fishbar New York Reviews from The Last Year
Great! Super fresh, good vibe, good drinks…
Went here for dinner and drinks, excellent. Had the red snapper and branzino and both dishes were served hot, well seasoned, and beautiful presentation. Excellent service. Will absolutely be back.

My mother and I went for dinner here and have been before many times but this time judy the hostess was super nice and accommodating to my mothers hearing impairment and sat us at a very nice table that was quiet so she could hear better. The food was great as well and the lychee martinis

Any restaurant that offers top notch service deserves a review. The wait staff was incredibly attentive which I appreciated. First, we were given complimentary deviled eggs topped with caviar that were buttery and divine. I ordered the wild mushroom agnolotti for dinner (which was very good) and the Royale shellfish platter for the table. My gin cocktail was delicious and we shared some sort of a double layer cookie dessert which was large and rich enough for 6 people to get a hefty couple of bites. Loved the ambiance. Prices felt appropriate for nicer dining in NYC.
This was my second time here.
I came back for the branzino, deviled eggs, the warm cookie dessert, and of course oysters! Our waitress recommended one east coast and one west coast oyster for us to try and both were so fresh and delicious. The branzino comes out on a bed of mash and sautéed spinach. The drink pictured is the Samantha Jones cocktail which has elderflower and mint in it. Very light and refreshing. I will definitely be back!

This was by far one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in quite a long time. My husband and I were in town unexpectedly and could greatly appreciate the care and great service we were shown at Lure by the professional staff. The ambiance was incredibly inviting and relaxing...just what we needed at this time. Chef Preston is amazing and one of the most humble and kind individuals. The time and attention he shows guests is amazing and very thoughtful! He's turned me into a sushi eater. :-) Thank you Lure!

Great service! It was a full house Wednesday night and my water was always full! The Otoro handroll was just okay - I feel like for the price I paid (around $20) the Otoro should have been better. The bucatini pasta with uni was AMAZING - that being said the pasta itself was amazing but I received the smallest bit of uni and you should really just eat the uni itself because the pasta will definitely overpower the uni flavor haha - uni was also just okay. My boyfriend got the lobster roll and he thought it was pretty good - but I actually thought it was okay too lol Was originally going to give this place 4 stars but realized I kept saying how okay everything was - but my pasta really was AMAZING. Would definitely come back to try other things because the menu is pretty large!
Great sushi, ambiance, etc.
Really love the crispy rice spicy tuna. This has become a go to.

very cute date spot, themed without being kitschy if you're not into that. the appetizers were incredible and the service was great. great place for a couple drinks and a small bite.
Really great experience for dinner on a Monday night.
The entire staff from the maitre d to the waiters and busboys was attentive and courteous, anticipating our needs without being overbearing. Hip and cool ambiance, filled with fashionable and trendy customers (no business suits here). The only thing that prevents me from giving 5 stars is that the food was good, but not exceptional. I didn't like how they served oysters with toppings already on them, preventing you from tasting the subtle flavors of the oyster itself. The tuna tacos were crispy but unremarkable, and the New England clam chowder leaned too heavily on the bacon. The sea urchin bucatini was likewise OK.

Brunched here today and was a tad underwhelmed considering the hefty prices. The drinks range $18-22, ordered 2 cocktails that came with way too much ice and not enough alcohol. The King Crab Rolls were a let down; the rice was old and hard; the devil eyes topped with caviar was salty. The mushroom omelette was overcooked, sent back to have fixed, and the salad didn't have any dressing on it. Had to request something. The lobster Roll was ok, but saturated in mayo, and the brioche was hard (them toasting it didn't cover up that fact). Overall I was happy with my Beets and Blood Orange Salad, except they left out the blood oranges and when ai questioned it I was told the yellow beet was the orange . But shortly after the server came out with a small bowl of bottled blood oranges. I was anticipating bringing my daughter here for her birthday, but unfortunately it fell short on my standards. I most certainly wouldn't come here for a special event, or brunch anytime soon. All of this

There are a handful of restaurants that make me feel what the Bee Gees "More Than A Woman (SG's Paradise Edit)" makes me feel: Somber, inspired, reflective, and appreciative. Lure Fishbar is one of these restaurants......... sorry I'm just in the coffee shop vibing so hard to this song rn ahahaha it has me floatin. Upon entering through the steps below the Prada store, it took me a bit longer than I'd like to admit to realize that the inside was shaped after the cabin of a boat. Like halfway through dinner I realized and almost shared my revelation with the table, but was like nah everyone else forsure realized that RIGHT when they walked in ahahaha. We had a sushi heavy meal that consisted of Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, Shrimp Tempura appetizer, Lure House Roll, Tuna Hell Fire Roll, Yellow Tail Jalapeno roll, Lobster Tempura Roll, and a few others but the red wine was taking the wheel at that point. The all stars for me were the Lure House Roll and the Tuna Hell Fire Roll. The Hell Fire Roll came with this Kimchi sauce on the side that was unlike anything I've ever had in the best way possible. It's these kind of creative risks in the food realm that keep me inspired and keep my faith in humanity alive. Some of the best sushi I've had in the city. That shrimp tempura app was actually CRACKIN too that's a must get. After we finished our meal, we began to take interest in a table over my right shoulder which had to be an early-stage date for this cute couple. Bro got the glass Voss water, that's how you KNOW. However, this girl would NOT get off her phone. She took a call at the table, was pounding that Iphone screen with her thumbs, and at one point even got up and stepped outside for like 10 minutes, but wasn't even on a call, was still just texting. Meanwhile, bro was just sitting alone DESTROYING those deviled eggs and martini while checking the weather app ahaha. Poor guy. We as a table were like nah this is actually insane, he needs to get a box for those deviled eggs and dip out. Maybe it was a real emergency for her, but if it was she should have apologized and left? It turned out to be like a 20 minute ordeal where she was outside or just on her phone and then we were like we gotta go it's gettin late. Wild. Anyways, all this to say there is some fantastic people watching here on top of high quality food and an elite ambiance. Lure is a unique and special place, and has kept its soul and character despite being so popular for 20 years and counting. Everyone who likes seafood should experience this place at least once. Our party really enjoyed the food but sadly cannot say the same about the service. We had to wait for over an hour for the waiter to show up and take our order for drinks and then we had to wait around 45 min to put in the order for food, unfortunately the waiter seemed to have little to no knowledge about the menu. Then for entrees it took over an hour for them to arrive and finally when it was time to sign the bill my wife got harassed for not leaving "enough tip" the waiter legit came up to her with a stack of receipts from other customers as an example of what she should have left for tip. Very disappointed with behavior especially from the place claiming to be upscale.
Good experience! My boyfriend and I stopped by for dinner
Good experience! My boyfriend and I stopped by for dinner since it was our anniversary. We had a reservation but had to wait a bit for our table. We were seated at a very nice booth. They start you off with deviled eggs & what I think were crab cakes. We were very hungry so we were very happy about that. I had the lychee martini which was incredible, I just wish it was colder my second drink was colder than my first. My boyfriend had a margarita which was good & strong. For our appetizer of course we had to get the shrimp tempura. The spicy mayo was amazing. I had the miso glazed salmon with w side of whipped potatoes. Very solid dish. My boyfriend had the crispy asian snapper. I really enjoyed his dish as well, please note that this dish is for 2 and it does bring a good amount of food. We would've been fine with just that dish. It does come accompanied by some sort of fried rice but it's very regular almost bland. Overall I had a good experience, I would return. I would say that it is on the pricier side so keep that in mind. The service was good. This place is perfect for a special occasion or if you're in the mood for a fancier dinner.
Royal Treatment and Excellent dinner at Lure!!!
this was the second time we went to Lure, and we were treated ROYALLY again!! We brought my brother and sister-in-law ( her big birthday), and the managers, the waitress and Chef Preston Clark treated us like we were celebrities,( which we are not, and they are used to serving real celebrities!!!) The food was excellent !!! Can't wait to come back, the next time I visit NYC!! A VERY special place that makes their customers feel truly special!!

Great ambience and the spicy tuna crispy rice is life changing. 10/10 can't wait to go back
We can't wait to come back to Lure Fishbar!!!
My wife and I ate at Lure for brunch on a busy Saturday in December. We went based on a recommendation from a friend. We both agree that our experience at Lure was the BEST restaurant experience we had our entire 4 days in NYC!!! We had a reservation and were seated promptly on time. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, he made our meal so fun! The oysters and deviled eggs were perfect, perhaps the best I've ever had. Shrimp tempura was brilliantly prepared. However, what made our day was the lovely conversation we had with General Manager, Orran. He made sure our experience exceeded expectations and he absolutely nailed it! It's lovely people like Orran that are so valuable to a dining experience. Most restaurants don't understand this. But Lure Fishbar (and Orran) are at the TOP of the list and we will most definitely return one day!
Much noise and little chicha.
Trendy place in Soho, reasonable prices for the area. However, the quality can be greatly improved. The oysters are good, a detail to put one of each to try them all. The salmon tiradito is good, but very scarce. The rolls are the worst, nothing remarkable. Good wines by the glass, they have albarino. The service is correct, yes, the place could not be noisier, it is impossible to have a conversation without raising your voice.
Dropped in quality
I have been frequenting this restaurant since it opened, but after Covid the quality of the food worsened considerably. Very popular and great location in Soho, but I don't recommend it
Vibey
Very cool atmosphere, very moody and vibey. Food was great and portions were exceptional. Came here for the crispy tuna rice and it was good, but not as great as people hyped it up to be. Lobster Mac and tempura shrimp were fantastic and were huge portions. Hellfire roll was good but nothing to write home about. Would come again and try other things
Great food, design and service
We had a great meal at Lure. Crab cake, lobster bisque, sushi - yum! Cool design, delicious food and attentive service from Costa!
Very, very tasty
Great fish restaurant in the middle of SoHo. Very tasty food and spent half a fortune... 😉 Except for the price, everything was great. Lobster pasta, tuna tataki, watermelon salad, etc. Highly recommended for those who don't watch every penny.
Good to be back !
Visited here 11 years ago on our wedding anniversary, so decided to revisit before we headed to the baseball in Queens Had a great meal, sharing crab chowder, numerous sushi and some deserts washed down with a poully fume Was funny sharing some of our pics from 11 years ago with the staff who gave us the deserts complimentary!! thanks for that !! I’m sure we’ll pop in next time we’re in NY
A little disappointing
Was excited to try this restaurant after seeing it on CBS Saturday Morning, but left feeling a little disappointed. It is extremely loud! Everyone is leaning in to talk to the person next to them or almost yelling to others if sitting with a large group. My husband ordered a beer; I opted for a glass of something similar to Sauvignon Blanc. Our server suggested Sancerre which was very good but price was listed as $22 on his menu, $23 on my menu & $20 on the website! We ordered the Tempura Shrimp as an appetizer. Tasted like fried shrimp and only had a drizzle of sesame mayo. Our entrees, Steamed Red Snapper and Miso Salmon were excellent and service was outstanding.
Disappointing
We decided to go after seeing Lure on The Dish. What a disappointing experience. Every dish we had was mediocre at its best. I had the Tuna Tataki which was dried out with rubbery burned "stuff" on top. The special Kenai role was more cucumber than anything else. The Blue Point oysters were unusually small, no taste. The deviled eggs had no taste whatsoever. It is very loud, with dive bar music, and uncomfortable chairs. Why this restaurant ever landed on the Dish is difficult to understand.

Pretty crazy, but cracking down will cost them a lot to maintain. They probably will lose the fight.

In my experience they will typically restore your reservation if you say it was an error.
