One of my favorites in DC
I've now been here 3 times and definitely feel it's one of DC's best restaurants - definitely one of my favorite. wE ate at the bar, and it was simply a wonderful dinner. So many good choices. We had the sourdough bread (highly recommend), the cabbage, steak tartare and sweetbreads to start. All delicious and unique. Two delicious and unusual cocktails. Then the pork and duck for mains. Both excellent, with larger portions than expected. Finally, for dessert had the semifreddo - most unusual but fulfilling dessert ever - honeycomb, custard, and tons of shredded comte cheese all over it. And then a pavlova too. All tended to by a competent, energetic man at the bar. Highly recommend.

Passionate staff, great service good food for DC but a bit surprised it’s a Michelin + delicious virgin drinks

The bread, olive and panna cotta were delicious but the duck was dry and tasteless despite its high price. The exterior seats were uncomfortable. Complete waste of money.
Be the first to ReplyNot the same and will not be back
Food quality has declined (overcooked black bass and tough octopus) and you are pressured to order and finish your meal as soon as possible Issues with waitstaff-ordered cocktails which were finished prior to appetizers and not asked to order wine (trying to turn the table as quickly as possible) Will not be back
Be the first to ReplyGreat Food, Great Service, Poor Restaurant
Food - Excellent! Service - Excellent! Physical Setting- Terrible. Don't let the photos of the interior fool you. This place is very small, very cramped, and the tables are uncomfortably close together. Combine that with the fact that they have the temerity to demand a deposit to make a reservatiion.... Georgetown is not short of alternatives, I suggest selecting one at least until the management of Lutece figures out what 'fine dining' means.

My 2nd visit - last time 6 months ago. This time chefs menu with wine pairing. Very delicious food, and nice wines but I was not impressed by the attempt to pair food and wine. One exception was the duck breast, heart, and amarene cherries woth the full-bodied bausjolais. Cosy atmosphere but noisy on a Friday night. Will definitely come back
Be the first to ReplyA fabulous dining experience in Georgetown!
Last night four of us sat at the bar at Lutece for one of the most memorable dinners I've ever had. From start to finish the meal, atmosphere, and service were perfection. Allison, the bartender and server, was welcoming, efficient, and knowledgeable about every item on the menu and every bottle at the bar! The atmosphere was wonderful- bustling and a little loud but everyone having a great time. We started with the fabulous foccacia, the carrots with harissa yogurt, honey, and pistachios, and a mouth-watering steak tartare - followed by the gnocchi, made with ricotta and light as air; amish chicken apricot, a breast cooked to perfection with foie gras jus; the dry-aged steak- with black trumpets and sauce bordelaise; and an addition to the menu, roasted lamb, which was amazing. The honey semifreddo and the Canele desserts finished our meal, along with a special dessert to celebrate my birthday. I truly don't believe there's an item on the entire menu that isn't absolutely delicious. During our meal, Allison took care of us with fabulous drinks, great recommendations, and attention to every detail. Wow! What a great night out. I highly recommend!

Set as in an old Georgetown house this upend (Michelin listed) restaurant serves medium sized portions of delicious, French inspired, well-prepared meal. A lot of green dishes, fish and prime meat. All wine by the glass was organic and/or biodynamic (and many of the bottles looked to be as well ). The room cosy but a bit noisy

Our family of four enjoyed dinner here. For appetizers, we tried the focaccia, carrots and honeynut squash. They were all delicious, with the honeynut squash being our favorite. For mains, we had the gnocchi, halibut and pork. Once again, these were delightful, each with distinct and delectable flavors and textures. We splurged on desserts too - almond financier, chocolate and tarte aux fromage - all scrumptious! The service was prompt and congenial. We look forward to coming back!
