An oasis of incredible food and first rate service amidst a busy shopping area
Our family of 6 American non- Indians were delighted at the opportunity to eat at Madhu’s on June 11, 2022. We were greeted promptly and sat at a well appointed table. The service was, in a word Royal. The ordering process was efficient and pleasant. My Royal Old Fashioned was amazing. The mix of cloves and cinnamon cordial was addictive. I ordered another. We were highly encouraged to try the Palak Patta Chaat. We did so. Along with our order of chili paneer, my teenage kids and my wife and I could not get enough. We sounded like Bob eating with the family from the movie “What about Bob?” We we’re in Xanadu. To describe the ingredients of Palak Patta Chaat would not to do it justice to a western ear. . . just order it and enjoy. It doesn’t matter if you are a hillbilly from Mississippi or a Patel, you will love it. The kids all ordered wraps and appreciated them as much as the appetizers. My Murgh Tikka with garlic naan was outstanding. The additional gelato at the end made the experience a complete joy. It was so good, we returned the very next day and ordered everything all over again except we doubled our order of Palak Patta Chaat. Folks, this place is a real gem among the standard cafe fare of a busy shopping district. If you are shopping at Harrods or Harvey Nichols and you are hungry. Don’t go to an overpriced Department store cafe for standard offerings, go to Madhu’s Brazzerie for a real treat.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful food and great service
Madhu's has just come to Richmond on Thames, on Sheen Road replacing the HSS shop and what luck! Ate there tonight and the food was outstanding. Loved being able to watch the chefs in the kitchen which is on show in the main room of the restaurant. I could get only "high seats" round the bar as it was busy but they were very comfy so would book them again as I loved watching the chefs prepare our food. I can recommend the biriani, the dal makhani, the nan,.. everything we ordered in fact.

We came to london to do a little shopping and go to see cirque du soleil. We thought we’d go to madhus as we love their food but didn’t know what to expect in this branch. It was just as good, the daal is so good every dish was amazing. The staff, especially Pranit was beyond courteous and even behind the mask you could tell he was wearing a huge smile. Made the experience even better. Thank you guys for a lovely time!
Be the first to ReplyNon discretionary service charge- second visit
This is the second time we’ve visited, the first being in august 2021. I had a veg thali, same as before but was let down by asparagus chorba as it was not as great as first time. The cauliflower I left as I didn’t like taste. Mirza provided great service. All other food like lamb curry, wrap etc was great. The discretionary 12.5% service charge could not be removed from the bill, the manager said, so it’s NOT discretionary as stated and I was annoyed.

Food was very tasty, very good service, clean. Unfortunately the curry for £28.00 is served without steamed rice. The steamed rice portion is another added £4.00!! Pricey. Curry should be served with rice and nan. Nan is another extra.
Be the first to ReplyVery poor service and not vegetarian friendly
I had gone to Madhu’s Brasserie to enjoy my birthday meal with a friend however was very disappointed with the service. We were seated by the counter seats and had ordered a starter and two main dishes between us. The starter took over an hour for it to be served and came out cold as well. We had noticed the tables behind us were served earlier even though they had arrived much later than us. When we asked the main waiter when our food will arrive he kept saying ‘2 mins’ , however this was never the case. What we noticed and which also threw me of my appetite as well was the fact that they were cooking the paneer and chicken and shrimp (I think) on the same grill right next to each other. Given this is an Indian place and when you order a vegetarian dish you would expect they would expect them to respect the fact not to cook paneer in the same grill as meat.

Myself and my partner visited Madhu's Brasserie situated on the 5th floor at Harvey Nichols, and it didn't disappoint. The service was super friendly and attentive throughout, and the food full of flavour. We loved the live cooking counter where you see the Chef's do their thing! Highly recommend visiting for dinner or an express lunch whilst shopping.

The food was delicious! I loved the thali’s, everything was cooked to perfection. The experience was wonderful with a lovely atmosphere. Offers halal, vegetarian and vegan options. Amazing food, would definitely recommend!

𝑺𝑻𝑨𝑹𝑻𝑬𝑹: 🌱Palak Patta Chaat (10/10) This dish was beyond amaaaazing. I love spinach so this was definitely a win for me. The spinach which was fried in a light batter which made each leaf soo crispy. It almost felt like I was eating crisps! ✨ 𝑴𝑨𝑰𝑵𝑺 (p.s how pretty are the plates!) 🌱Vegetarian Thali (9/10) Paneer tikka, asparagus choma, mixed vegetable jalfrezi, madhus makhani dal, pilau rice, tandoori naan, salad, and raita 🚫🧈🌱 Vegan Thai (9/10) Vegetable samosa, asparagus choma, aloo bhindi masala, mixed vegetable jalfrezi, pilau rice, roomali roti, and salad ~ When the thali’s initially arrived I thought the portions looked quite small… however looks can be deceiving! The thalis really did fill our stomachs to the point where we didn’t know if dessert was going to be an option! ( but who says no to dessert!?) The curries were DELICIOUS! In all honestly, the flavours of each curry were exceptionally distinctive. Each item was cooked perfectly and was full of flavour. I couldn’t tell you which one I liked the most because they were all fantastic 😛 so if you do go, get them all! ✨ 𝑫𝑬𝑺𝑺𝑬𝑹𝑻: 🍨Pistachio gelato (10/10) ~ this literally tasted like the gelato back in Italy! SO rich and creamy. 🍨 Ras malai (9/10) ~ perfect amount of sweetness, not too rich and was not too heavy. A great post dinner dessert in my opinion. ✨ 𝑨𝑻𝑴𝑶𝑺𝑷𝑯𝑬𝑹𝑬 (8/10) A really lovely atmosphere, even though situated around other businesses, it was very relaxing. We sat by the robata grill which was entertaining as we were able to watch the chefs cook. ✨ 𝑺𝑬𝑹𝑽𝑰𝑪𝑬 (9/10) We were looked after by Kishore & Lyna who were very helpful and accommodated at all times. Fast service & food arrived very quick👏🏾 #madhus2go #knightsbridge #harveynichols #madhusbrasserie #prinvite

You are going to be eating on the 5th floor next to a grocery aisle. Let that sink in for a second. Really lovely service from our Albanian waitress, she would have got this review 5 stars but the food & presentation took 2 stars off. The Vegetable Samosa is encased in a thick rather tasty pastry but the Chicken Samosa is not, it is cooked in filo pastry and is minced ! Both are served with tongs ? Robato Chops were ok, nothing special. Murgh Makhani very ordinary Stand out dish was the Vegetable Samosa, I wonder where they are made ?
