Malaysian Kopitiam Chantilly Reviews from The Last Year
Came here to try out Malaysian Food in the area since it's
Came here to try out Malaysian Food in the area since it's a bit limited on options. Lots of parking in the plaza so I don't think you have any issues parking. Malaysian Kopitiam used to reside in DC but it's here in Centerville so I'm happy that it's closer to me. While I can't say that when walking in I was greeted, the staff did acknowledge me and ushered me to seat at a booth. The interior; nothing really fancy but it's minimal except for the wall mural behind the last booth. That was pretty and I am glad I was able to take a picture of it. I opened the menu, pointing to the dish I knew I was already interested in ordering. I'm someone who likes to look at what the place is serving before actually visiting. I don't like having the server come back and forth waiting for me to order if the place is busy; but that's just me. My appetizer to start off with was Satay Chicken. An absolute classic in my opinion. Grilled Chicken with peanut satay sauce and onions & cucumbers, it's a very safe pick if you haven't eaten at a Malaysian restaurant but I do think the Roti Canai is good too. For my entrée I got the Dry Curry Wonton Mee. If you like wonton noodles with curry gravy with cuts of chicken on top, this is the perfect dish for you. I honestly enjoyed eating this dish as it had an element of spice but enough that it doesn't overpower the dish. The chicken was juicy with every bite and with the noodles, it adds more oomph. Vegewtables... well while there's YuChoy and Bean Sprouts and bits of Mint leaves on top I think they were just there for the presentation. I did enjoy eating everything when paired with the noodles but it didn't add anything extra than the curry taste. Would I come back to try more Malaysian Food? Of course! Centerville has so many interesting places to visit. I'm so glad I was able to visit this place finally.
First time and probably not the last.
Heard about this place and it did not disappoint. Place was clean. Service was friendly and swift. Most importantly, the dishes were delicious. No complaints. Had the Roti, Crispy Squid, and Kopitiam noodles. Can't wait to try other potential yumminess from the menu.
Dropped in around 11am for a Sunday, missed the lunch
Dropped in around 11am for a Sunday, missed the lunch specials (which are weekday only). The menus still mention Lunar New Year (they are no longer there). Some of the specials are seasonal, so you'll have to ask. The decor is kind of typical but the interior has a neat mural of Malaysia, but not entirely sure of the context. A small introduction to 100Plus, which is apparently a local drink. Service was good, we were served directly by the owner. Looking over shoulder we see a steady crowd of what look like familiar old timers coming in; a sustained stream of repeat customers is usually a good sign! (Will double check names of items and edit accordingly)
Great service and food quality/taste.
They did not have the Kangkong dish which is my favorite but this one is based on fresh vegetable availability in the market.
Malaysian Kopitiam is a cute family-owned and -run
Malaysian Kopitiam is a cute family-owned and -run Malaysian restaurant is such a gem! The staff are always so welcoming, kind, and friendly, and they seem to treat all their customers with warmth and fondness! The hubs and I came here, pre-pandemic, after the lunch rush, and we ordered the following: Satay Chicken (which came with 4 skewers and came with a kicked-up peanut sauce); the Mamak Mee Goreng (this had a generous amount of juicy plump shrimp, and the stir-fried noodles and veggies were so good; just note that this is a spicy dish!); the Beef Chow Fun (the wide noodles were stir-fried and cooked perfectly, and the beef pieces were tender and so flavorful!); and, the Kopitiam Noodle (which also came with delicious plump shrimp, topped on braised wonton noodles, fish cake, bok choy, and bean sprouts in a brown sauce). Each dishes were made-to-order and came out in this small little wok-like bowl - the use of the spices were on point, and even though the noodle dishes were stir-fried, there was no hint of greasy-ness - just full flavor! Even with the 3 noodle dishes that ordered, each were distinct and had their own flavor profiles - YUM! There are plenty of seats in the restaurant, and they also seem to have many locals doing carry-outs. I'd love to try out the rest of their menu! Plenty of parking in the plaza lot. +tasty noodle dishes! +friendly and kind staff! +plenty of parking in shared plaza lot
Malaysian Kopitiam (MK) was an excellent find in the
Malaysian Kopitiam (MK) was an excellent find in the always-bustling Centreville restaurant scene. Fair warning, the dishes lean toward the seafood end of things (Malaysia being a fairly coastal country, this does make sense), but everything I tried is very tasty! I went in a group of four so we were able to try a few entrees and a couple appetizers. The standout was perhaps the fried bread with curry chicken appetizer. The bread was golden-brown and unimaginably soft, while the succulent curry sauce was paint to the bread canvas. Very tasty, and a good way to stay sated while choosing from their large menu. The only complaints I have are twofold: 1) the dishes are a bit small, we finished everything on the table quite easily. And 2) the price point is a bit high considering the serving size. However don't let that stop you from strolling in and trying a sampling of what Malaysia has to offer!
Wonderful place! The food was delicious and flavorful.
The service was exceptional. We had the lamby curry..soo good. The fresh apple juice was so delish! Highly recommend!!
Take it from someone from Malaysia, this is the best
Take it from someone from Malaysia, this is the best restaurant for Malaysian food in the metro DC area.... it's authentic and amazingly tasty. If you've never had Malaysian food - you have to try it - it's a blend of Chinese, Indian and Malay flavors.
Great service.
Penny and Leslie are the best. Food is authentic and tasty. Excellent family owned restaurant
Came here based on the reviews.
Ample seating and very quiet on a Thursday night. We ordered the hainanese chicken, general tso, and the goreng noodles. Overall everything was mediocre and meats were dry. I was excited for the hainanese and the chicken was so dry I had to stop eating. the general tso was good but chicken was also dry again. the noodles were okay... tasted more like a lomein. definitely was not impressed and unsure if I would come back again. the prices were also expensive ...the signs mentioned prices were increased by 3.9%!
After reading many decent reviews, wanted to try this
After reading many decent reviews, wanted to try this restaurant out but ended up quite disappointed. We ordered the Hainanese Chicken and Char Keiw Teow. Food was prepared fairly quickly but quality wasn't great. The Hainanese Chicken didn't look fresh and was dried out. Taste was bland. If I had only ordered that, I'd give this place 1 star. The CKT was decent at least but portion was much smaller than the other entree for some reason. Quality and price were definitely not worth it. Will not be coming back.

Is this an appointment for a leather appointment at the Hermes Store? And if so, how do they switch the appointment to my name?
