I've visited this restaurant numerous times over the years but I don't think I've ever fully ordered off the regular menu. Pre-pandemic, Marche offered a 3-course mini-tasting menu on Mondays that I always enjoyed, usually adding a few items from the regular menu. Post-pandemic, Marche offers a 5-course tasting menu, which changes fairly often, that I've enjoyed twice in different iterations. It is currently $165 with a $65 optional wine pairing. The restaurant clearly has a loyal following; I've never seen it not busy. The restaurant began in the 3rd level space in South Coast Plaza where Knife Pleat now resides, but has been at Crystal Cove Shopping Center for quite a few years. The parking spots reserved for valet parking has expanded now that A Restaurant has opened a location next door to Marche, so it's a bit more of a walk if you choose to self-park. The autumn/winter menu I had most recently featured: 1) caviar egg with jerusalem artichoke, 2) langoustine and pork belly, 3) scallop and lobster, 4) veal 3 ways, 5) baba au rhum in 3 parts. Bread service was an additional charge. Everything was delish, but the scallop/lobster dish was my favourite. Service was decent, perhaps a bit rushed due to how busy the place gets. Marche remains one of my go-to's when in Orange County.
