Good food, disappointed with their customer service, but they apologised
Food was really good, recommend the lamb, tzatziki was fantastic, as was the goats cheese They made a mistake with the reservations which was really quite annoying so disappointed with that aspect of their customer service I pointed this out to them when I got there, to their credit they looked into it and apologised, hence why this is a 3 and not a 5, at ยฃ70 per person while not extortionate I would certainly expect better customer service please! If they can avoid making this comms error then I would recommend

Second visit and the food was just as good as on the first. The new additions to the menu were fabulous especially the shrimp and lobster risotto. Melting OB. Some very hood Greek wines too. Excellent service , friendly and helpful staff, they go the extra mile. Thank you all.
Be the first to ReplyGood food but eye wateringly expensive for what it is
We were horrified by the price of the food and wine (assume mega mark ups here) and although it was good and the staff were nice, it just wasn't worth it. 13.5% (discretionary) service added too.
Be the first to ReplyWay Too Noisy
This restaurant has excellent food and friendly staff but the level of noise is unbearable. In addition, the manager insists on playing disco music through the speakers. It is impossible to hear anyone at the table and the noise is painful.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful lunch and waiter interaction
Lunch as always delicious, and as it was 14:00 wasn't too noisy. This lunch was a first as we took our grandson aged 1yr old. I can not tell you how the restaurant staff made him feel so welcome, high chair was there as we arrived. Am ashamed to say I didnt get the name of the charming waiter (who we learnt, could walk at the age of 8months!!) who was so so good with the child, bringing satsumas, and entertaining him with high 5โs etc. as restaurant at this time of the afternoon was quiet. Made us feel so relaxed, as am always nervous with a young child. When we were given menus, they had a separate gluten one for one of the guests, which was a nice touch and plenty of choice. For those that don't know this restaurant, lunch in the summer outside is a delight. As itโs so popular it unfortunately is very noisy at nightโฆ..that is the only negative comment I would make about this wonderful local Greek restaurant with great staff, particularly the amazing waiter we had today!

Excellent diner, great atmosphere, warm welcome and lovely staff. We had an excellent evening. Strongly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyA great find. Adding to my list!
Great modern Greek food. enthusiastic staff. Happy to recommend and steer you through the tasty menu. Pleasant setting on a quiet road. Recommend highly.

From the moment you walk in, the welcome shots, the manager, the food and service all truly great. We will be back!
Be the first to ReplyGreat London Life
Mazi was recommended to us by our son six months ago and we finally made it. Wonderful! Food was delicious and great to be able to order as sharing plates. Five star service even by member of staff on their first day! Vibrant London atmosphere, pretty outdoor eating area and very cosy indoor space. Restaurant opened at 6.30pm and was full by 7.30pm. Families, couples, young groups, work groups and friends chilling. Definitely somewhere we would go again. A very happy, cheery, atmosphere to enjoy excellent food in. Compliments to the chef and staff.
Be the first to ReplyToo expensive for what it is
Our dining experience started off really well as our waitress was very friendly and accommodating, but when it came to the orders it was more of a hard sell by her. We clearly overordered against our own initial thinking. The food itself was good but nothing to write home about, to be honest.
Be the first to ReplyRuined birthday dinner
We booked for a table of 12 for my 60th birthday - upon arrival we were packed like sardines onto a table better suited for 8-10 at a push - the restaurant is cramped and over filled with diners - poorly ventilated and very noisy. The result was that 10 out of 12 of us caught Covid. The chefs taster menu was tasty yet wholly inappropriate for group sharing on some of the dishes - and there wasnโt enough served - disappointed and will never eat here again
Be the first to ReplyPleasantly surprised!
Warm welcome, inviting decor. All dishes look and taste absolutely amazing. The lovely hidden garden in the back just makes you feel like you are in one of those islands in Greece! We started with the Fava bean jar and a Greek Salad that was so fresh. We then shared the Calamari with Chili and the Scallops and the Lamb Stifado. The lavender honey Loukoumades were a perfect way to finish off. Everything was so beautifully presented, the flavors were fantastic and the service was top notch and fast! A great family lunch! We walked away very happy indeed.
Be the first to ReplyAwful noise and very cramped
This was supposed to be a special birthday dinner for my cousin and ten of us were cramped in a small space. It was so noisy we couldnโt hear each other.
Be the first to ReplyToo expensive for its offering
Very slow pace bringing out the food, and long wait between dishes. We ordered 6 different dishes which were hit and miss with the best being just โaverageโ. Interestingly we were told the restaurant was fully booked upon arrival and yet, only 1/3 of the tables were taken โฆ
Be the first to ReplyService and local "very bad "
I do not recommend this place, we waited about 90 minutes before having a dish in three people. Then two dishes arrived, one of which was not ordered but they had no other options .. Natasha the Manager apologized after two hours telling us that she had staff problems, obviously after two hours .... local, very noisy and food small absolutely not all height. Greek cuisine is definitely not at the Mazi restaurant
Be the first to ReplyMazi struggles with anything more than a party of 4!
Yeah, this is pretty dreadful! Firstly a party of 8 which turned out to be 7 and that was fortunate too as we were shoehorned into the back in a pretty tight squeeze! Let's then look at the dishes. They could be best described as 'hit and miss' (which is a running theme) with this place! The 'jars' of Spicy Tiropita, broken filo pastry and Smoked Aubergine, tahini and thyme honey were delicious and very decorative. Things got off to a great start. However, that's the very much (hit) Unfortunately this was very much overshadowed by the huge misses! Pork Belly gyro tacos were 'meh' and the Artichoke Risotto was ยฃ18 for a tiny dish and was pretty bland and hugely disappointing. Special consideration has to be given to the main dishes however. My wife and I ordered the Monkfish. Both arrived tepid and both of our monkfish had lived in salt so much both were inedible and I sent mine back. Two of our guests received their mains 10 minutes after ours and then our other guests received their mains. No apology offered. No offer of a bottle of wine. Nope! The waiter did say I wouldn't be charged for my inedible main course which was nice of him I guess!! The service was poor. The food came at different times and there was a push to get us out the door. Mazi means together or gathering in Greek. But this restaurant can't deliver on that. Refinery is more than adding a few flowers to dishes and making them smaller and charging big dollar! Improve the staff. Improve the product quality. Definitely not worth the hype, and any talk of a m* is codswallop! There are plenty of Greek restaurants doing better food in London.
Be the first to ReplyJUST AMAZING!!!
We really enjoyed our Friday evening , the atmosphere and the food were amazing and staff rocking all over the place.
Ideal to taste a gourmet side of Mediterranean food and a great selection of Greek wine.
If you are looking for the best Greek restaurant in London we just discovered it.
Special mention to the Manager. He is literally everywhere and so helpful with everything on and off the menu!
There is something special about this restaurant.
We ve been in many neibourhood restaurants across London but there is something special with Mazi.
The restaurant is tiny (maybe with the garden open, there will be more space for their reputation) but call it food (which is full of fresh ingredients presented with an inovative Greek Chef) or the buzzing atmospere of a Saturday night in Notting Hill or the charming service from the staff, this restaurant is a must try and cant wait to visit them again.
Value is great and cant recommend enough the chefs table selection. The only down thing is that you have to revisit to taste all the other choices.
Wines and drinks are all great and representing the character of the restaurant with all Greek ingredients. Tzatziki Martini is a must. Dont forget to have a conversation with the Manager Demetris for the wine. He will literally educate you, his knowledge about wine and food is beyond anything i have ever seen. A real Gent.
Cudos to you and the rest of the team we will see you soon. xx
Cramped, tiny portions, awful music
We were rather excited about going here. It has the new popular fad of taking your plates in whichever order the restaurant chooses but that was fine. What was not fine was serving taramasalata without mentioning that you charge for bread. Do we eat it with a spoon? Two other courses were tasty enough, but cold. The octopus came tiny, tasted rather like chicken, and came with a plate filling dollop of what seemed like mashed potato. Then two courses never arrived, for nearly half an hour. We gave up, ordered the bill, without the charge for the two missing courses, and were met with the bill and one of the courses proffered for free. By then, not in the mood. The place bunches you together like Pizza Express, with no table room, and the piped music was seemingly Hits of the 80s a touch too loud. Service lacked charm.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent, I would avoid cumin the crispy Calamari batter
I had a lovely dinner at Mazi! The food is incredibly tasty and I love the way they combine flavours together: the results are astonishing! I would avoid putting the "pinch of cumin" in the calamari batter. I think it really doesn't work well and it covers the amazing flavour of the calamari.
I gave 4 stars only because the service is not up to par, especially when it gets crowded. I really understand how much effort they put into it, indeed the workload can be very heavy for them. But every time I have dinner at Mazi, I find it so stressing to catch the attention of the staff during the service and reiterate your requests three or four times because they forget simple orders ( ex bread, water, wine).
I will visit you soon, anyway!!
Enjoyed our meal. But!
This is a really good restaurant with great food and service. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was as expected for a good Greek restaurant tasty and fresh.
Why then you ask a four star. The restaurant is small and has way too many tables jammed in. To the point that we had the waiters and other diners back sides on our table as they try to walk between the tables. I understand the need to make money but way over the top for me. There are a lot of hard surfaces so very noisy when slightly full.
The other big disappointment was the squid dish . I was looking forward to a good meal of squid as I love it and it is hard to get in London in restaurants. The dish was ยฃ25 so my expectations were up there. It came and I was disappointed.
There was a huge dollop of smashed potatoes on the the top. I hate paying for a dish when most of it is potatoes even though they were tasty. The squid was well cooked but really not enough. I finished it and gave the potatoes to my husband and thought where is the rest. I will have to go back to Greece for a good feed of squid in the future.
Highly recommended
Cannot recommend this place highly enough - Excellent food and very friendly service. Loved the relaxed atmosphere, will definitely come back
Be the first to ReplyGood food, poor service & atmosphere
Food is good but sadly service was so rushed that weโd finished eating 45mins after we first sat down.
Service sadly lacking throughout the meal. Restaurant is busy but there is no atmosphere as staff seem sadly uninterested in ensuring their diners enjoy a wonderful experience & solely focused on rushing food out, plonking it on your table & rushing off.
Beef cheeks tough, pistachio dessert sickly sweet but otherwise food was descent.
Fabulous dinner
Three of us came here for dinner. It was excellent. Food was fantastic and the place was full. Lots of fun. Was initially a little apprehensive since Greek food is not my standard โgo-toโ. All the small plates were delicious. And the Greek wine was excellent. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyA whole load of overpriced not much.
Well that was weird! ยฃ175 for 2 of us and we don't appear to have had dinner! A few insubstantial sharing plates, time up on the table and now we're home for toast!
