The one star is because there was no wait, but maybe the empty parking lot was an indication of the service inside idk. We had a part of 8, three of them children so pivoting from the hour wait at Tx Roadhouse, opted for Mellow-mushroom in the same plaza. In retrospect, the hour wait was the better option. We were seated immediately and then ordered the kids food while we still decided - we were one of about 4 families there at the time. My granddaughters food came out and immediately I checked her meal and her mac and cheese was cold. It had been sitting- the kitchen staff who brought it out (turned out he was the mgr), said he would warm it up - no apology. We then ordered our food- my daughter has a dairy allergy and ordered her pizza no cheese. Food came out, instead of no cheese, they added vegan cheese. That had to go back and was remade with no cheese but also one less topping. By this time our drinks were empty (water, soda) and a beer that sat at the bar waiting for another server to bring. We ordered sundaes for the kids and wings to go but after 20 minutes, and a full table of empty dishes we requested a manager - the same one who warmed up the mac and cheese. I let him know about lack of service, inaccurate items and he said they were swamped in the back - which we had been there over an hour when it was only 4 families, including us and nothing had changed from quality of service. Sophia, our server not once came to check if we needed anything other than when it was time to pay and asked if we wanted anything else lol! She never came to offer to grab empty dishes or even bothered to write down my daughter's special request of no cheese, which could be detrimental to someones health. Another server said Sophia had a 30 table top reservation which doesnt excuse her lack of quality service overall, especially when we had been there way before her reservation or the families that showed up after. Zac the manager seemed unapologetic- yes he said sorry they were swamped - but honestly the apology was not genuine and he more so just wanted go deal with it and get back to the kitchen - fine. But when you have a nearly empty restaurant and a large family dining but their assigned server never checks on them, doesnt have bussers or themselves empty tables accordingly and are only interested in what you may want when it's time to pay - that is a problem! It's definitely worth the wait elsewhere to avoid going here unless you're going to sit at the bar and have drinks because they moved quickly and were attentive - Sophia was not - Zac could care less - and the near empty parking lot is a clear sign of the lack of quality service you're going to get.
