Munno Pizzeria & Bistro Chicago Reviews from The Last Year

They were out of two featured items that shaped our final choices, fine,,, they also charge for bread which is against my basic motto as the price for dining out. they also did not offer outdoor dining. i get it here but certainly if in California would have been a no brainer. Nice staff. Food and wine menu fairly limited. we dined early on a sunday.
This place is just an absolute delight.
We've only eaten on the patio but it's a very nice calm and relaxed vibe. All the pizzas pastas and salads we have tried have been delicious- you can't go wrong. I think this is the best iteration of this type of pizza in the neighborhood (and probably most of chicago).

Went to Munno to celebrate my husband's birthday! When you walk in, you can smell the fresh pizza dough! My husband got a glass of rose and I got the limoncello spritz and both were delicious. We both ordered pizzas because they are individual sizes. The mozzarella on the pizza was incredibly fresh and everything was cooked perfectly. We will absolutely be back.

I stopped by here for Valentine's Day with my pizza loving girlfriend. I have passed by this place hundreds of times, but once I heard they received a Michelin bib gourmand, I figured it would be the perfect place to treat her and cross off another restaurant from the Michelin guide. Even though they have been lauded for their pasta, we came to eat a few of their many Roman style pizzas. I had my eye on the Pizza Bologna, but they informed us that they ran out due to the high demands of a Valentine's Day service. I used to work at a high volume restaurant downtown so I get it. It was still disappointing, though. They were even all out of the second pizza of my choosing. So I decided to get the diavola sbagliata while my girlfriend had the bufalina and they were both very good. Nothing mind blowing because it's an elevated pepperoni pizza, but definitely very solid. Based on the quality of the pizza I had, I'm sure that what I originally wanted would have been fantastic. I heard the pasta here is top notch so I will definitely be back to order it and the pizza I originally set my sights on.
Great service, tasty cocktails and pizza with high quality
Great service, tasty cocktails and pizza with high quality ingredients. A casual no frills restaurant which is inviting and comfortable.
Food is mediocre.
Service HORRENDOUSLY slow!! Rude server. After waiting 1 hour for our food, they got the order wrong. We had dined here 2 other times and it was better those visits. We will NOT be returning

We came here on a Friday night and were excited to try a local place close to where we live. It doesn't look like much from the outside and inside it's a small, casual vibe with an exposed kitchen. There is no formal bar, just a station where they make drinks. You can see the big pizza ovens and the cooks preparing the food. Very modern looking kitchen. The tables were covered in butcher paper. I guess they were going for a upscale pizza joint. We had reservations and were seated quickly. The restaurant was not very crowded but there were other tables. They gave us a menu and the selection was small. We decided to have a beer, We had not heard of any of the three beers offered but we each chose one and they were good. (see photos for names) The wine list was small as well 3 or 4 red wines. They offer several vegetarian options. We ordered an appetizer Supplì al Telefono (risotto croquettes) to split and bread to start. I ordered the Tagliatelle ai Funghi and my partner ordered the Gnocchi Salsiccia e Cavolo Nero. The bread was served with olive oil on the side and appetizer came pretty quickly after that. We enjoyed the croquettes and the bread. Our entrees came out about 15 minutes later. They both looked great. My pasta was perfectly cooked but the sauce was lacking something. It came off as waterish tasting. My partner's gnocci was overcooked and over-salted. He decided to eat it and not send it back. We even decided to try the Tiramisù and split it after dinner. It was pretty good. Overall great service, the entrees were disappointing, bread, beer and appetizer were great, We will try it again one day, maybe pizza is their thing.
Closed on Tuesdays.
I'm hungry and they're closed. Why would you be closed on a Tuesday? I was really craving this too. Great pizza. Not great hours. My tummy is sad.
Sometimes it's just meant to be.
We wanted to do the pizza thing at one of our favorite places in Andersonville. It was not meant to be--so we did the phone exploration thing and found Munno. We've been to the restaurant a couple of times now. We also started our tiramisu survey here. Now. we've been to a number of restaurants, placing tiramisu orders. Our favorite? Munno. Each time, we've ordered a special salad, pizza and pasta. Didn't go wrong. Can't go wrong. This feels like a hidden gem.
I love this little local place.
Their pizza is so good and sometimes they gift things to you with your to go order. They are speedy to get orders ready. The prosciutto pizza is amazing and so is their sausage. The margarita was a pretty average.
