Delightful dinner at Nobu
Delightful dinner at Nobu Waikiki, the best Nobu we have been , food was deliciously , fresh tasteful.. great ambient , friendly and very professional service. We enjoyed so much from food to drinks . This is our second time been here. We definitely will come back.
Ps. A bit pricey if you don’t prepared to pay . But we don’t mind 🤣🤣
Amazing Asian Fussion
This the fourth Nobu I have been to around the world & as always it was "Fantastic"
Would highly recommend the truffle lobster.
The place was a little noisy and lacked the ambiance of a very classy restaurant.
Having been to Nobu in other cities, we expected way more from this one. The food was very good, but not great. The service was average (one hour before last call our waiter started reminding us about last call... we understood the first time). They used to be downtown in Waikiki but are now located far (for tourists). The place was a little noisy and lacked the ambiance of a very classy restaurant.

An amazing experience here at Nobu. Always a pleasure to visit a Nobu, and the one here in Honolulu is amazing. The staff are all great and the food is phenomenal. I highly recommend checking this place out for amazing Japanese food. The food is all fresh and prepared beautifully. Our personal favourites were the sashimi and the black miso cod but everything we had was just amazing. Definitely will be back again in the future.

Every year we pick a special restaurant to have an after Christmas dinner with our two adult kids. We really found something special in Nobu. Located directly across from the Ward Theater complex on the bottom floor (they have their own valet parking off Auahi but signage isn’t good) of the Waiea Tower, they are just out of Waikiki so less hustle and bustle. Nice decor, but it can get a little loud. It’s all about the food here, black cod miso, spicy shrimp, crunchy rice skewers with spicy ahi, seared Monster scallops, and the Ahi uni truffle miso which we ordered twice. We got a 60 oz bottle of the Junmai sake which everyone really enjoyed with the food and some delish cocktails as well. Dessert was the Malaga and chocolate and was the perfect end to a perfect meal. Family style so everyone can try everything. We have eaten at some of the best restaurants around the world and this one is world class. Plus, you can pop in for a few small plates and a cocktail and be on your way to the movies or concert etc, it doesn’t have to be an all night sit down. It has a casual elegant vibe, and servers are energetic and attentive, but no rushing. We’ll be back.

I had the mai tai which was salty and terrible. On the waiter’s recommendation and he suggested the cod with lettuce. This was awful too. I prefer the warm cod that I have had in the past. The ponzu rice with tuna was what I have read about but was one of the worst dishes I have had. It was something I would get at a fair. I had to order California rolls which weren’t better than a grocery store. My husband’s sashimi and sea bass was good. The drunken cherry dessert was good but not as good as in the past.

Having eaten at Nobu's West Hollywood restaurant, and living near their Tokyo location near Toranoman Hills, we couldn't resist visiting their Honolulu restaurant when we were in town.
The Nobu in Honolulu is located in the Ward Village area which is west of the Ala Moana shopping mall. The JAL pack trolley has a stop nearby, if you are driving you can park in the garage at the garage across the street in the entertainment complex, or in the Whole Foods building one block further up the street.
My wife called to make a reservation only to be told that the restaurant was booked up. We decided to walk over and see if we could get a table (we recently acquired a new condo across the way), and we found that they were able to seat us in the outdoor dining area. We had our 5-year-old daughter with us, but that was no problem for the restaurant (or for my daughter).
Like the other restaurants, the Honolulu Nobu is a stylish place with strong ambience. It is tastefully decorated (though I suppose that depends on your definition of "taste"), the staff are attentive (and attractive); there is more to the place than just the food.
Having lived in Tokyo for many years, and having eaten at some of the city's (and the world's) finest sushi restaurants, we are familiar with good food. You won't find anything that Nobu serves is like traditional Japanese cuisine, however, that is what makes it so good. We ordered an assortment of dishes, it would be better to call each dish an experience, and a pleasant one.
Prices are a tad high, but are more than fair for the quality of the food, and an environment that adds to the pleasure. I once had a $1200 course dinner (per person) in Kyoto, and while it was nice to be served in a private room with its own garden by pretty serving girls in kimonos, if I had to choose between it and Nobu, I would choose he latter.
Birthday dinner
I would recommend the
Black cod with miso
Warm mushroom salad
Kind crab leg with black truffle something
Any wagyu beef
Any raw fish (make sure you get the pcs you requested..)
The desert with the word cherry in it with gelato.. can’t remember the name.
Fruit sake for desert
The oysters are teenie tiny
The “new style” tofu or oysters isn’t all that great..
And I hope your waiter is better than ours was! Best not to tell them it’s your first time!. The water and food server were the best! They did an excellent job in providing customer service and food suggestions!.
AMAZING
from the food to the atmosphere to the service...it was amazing..loved the sashimi it melted in your mouth
