I went there today the location is cute, good vibe etc.
.. however I was very disappointed to learn that the only vegan option was edamame, vegetable roll and avocado roll... not even the seaweed salad was vegan. So disappointed. I think they can do better, use some creativity to make better taste vegan options... just google some recipes and incorporate thin your menu...it is that simple! Please take this review as a request for more vegan options... I would love to see that. Thank you!- this was my experience at that location: Nobu in Newport Beach was a complete different experience and they were able to give me lots of vegan options
Be the first to ReplyFood was great! Service was perfect.
Glass ware needs some love. While the martini was tasty, it was poured into a bucket. ..We enjoyed Lobster tacos as well as the Ahi tacos. Kay was great at the door, and our waitress Ploy was amazing! We will be back tonight
Be the first to ReplyI'd review the food here if I could at all.
Unfortunately, the front of house is such a giant mess that I'll never have that chance. We showed up and were told it was a 45 minute wait. We put our names down, never heard anything, came back in an hour, and then were told that actually, there *were* seats available... as well as price minimums and time maximums, none of which the hostess who took our names earlier had bothered to tell us about. When we finally were seated, we were told by the server that the minimum was actually *double* what our new hostess had told us.By that point, we were pretty ticked off, but then we got the kicker: the patron sitting to our right recognized us. She had been behind us at the hostess stand at the very beginning, and right after we had gotten told to come back later, she got seated *immediately*. That was the end of it for us. Insult to injury.I know this place is only busy two weeks a year, but having a front of house this incompetent is just such a mistake. It sours the whole dining experience, and in our case, drove us away entirely. With service so bad, I'm only too glad not to have spent my money here - and I will know to avoid this place in the future, and steer others elsewhere, too!

Poor service, I wish I would of checked the yelp reviews before spending what I did on over priced atmosphere. Small portion, long wait time, our entree came out before our apps. Our drinks were empty for a while as well. Poor customer service, our waitress was very inattentive.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a great dinner at Nobu last night.
. with one fatal flaw. We went with a number of suggestions by our waiter:Japanese Red Snapper Sashimi with Dry MisoChilean Sea Bass with Black Bean SauceScallops, Brussels Sprouts, Jalapeรฑo Salsa We also ordered Sashimi Salad with Matsuhisa Dressing. The three suggestions by our waiter were fantastic. The Sashimi Salad was also good, though it was not exactly as our waiter had described. The fatal flaw was the following:At the end of our meal, we asked the server for 2 pieces of Tobiko with Quail Egg. He hesitated and said he wasn't sure if they had Tobiko. He said they had other types of roe. We told him the chef could choose another roe if they didn't have what we asked for... clearly implying that we were fine with being upgraded into something we would enjoy more. When the server went to place the order, we joked that the two pieces were probably going to cost $45 (a price point we saw sprinkled throughout the menu).A few minutes later, he brought us Masago with Quail Egg. Masago! Smelt roe! The lowest-of-the-low-roe! At Nobu. SMELT EGG????!!!!We spent $200 on dinner last night and he substituted masago for tobiko. That's pretty unforgivable.I'm conflicted now. I would have started with 5 stars. But this is serious. I'm going to have to deduct 2 stars for bad form on the part of our waiter and on the part of the chef at Nobu who would do such a thing. I think Nobu Matsuhisa may also have to hear about this.

Bad experience because of the servant and food quality!!! Not again here. They didn't bring as some plates and they did not admit and care about this
Be the first to ReplyBeen here twice and had fantastic meals both times.
Couldn't disagree more with the negative reviews. Management was clear about the seating policies. Service at the sushi bar and in the restaurant was friendly and helpful. Fish was fresh and delicious. Recommend the lunch bento box if you're hungry and get here before 5.*edit: wanted to add that I've been to five Nobu locations including this one. Seems like some reviews are first time Nobu visitors. Not me. This place is great and in line with high expectations.

You've Got To Be Kidding! My dad and I just had "dinner" at Nobu. Drink ordering was ok except for the time it took for the "margarita" to arrive. It didn't taste anything like a margarita. Maybe wine or saki would be a better choice but if it's on the menu, they should know how to make it. The waiter, Ryan, seemed very nervous. Not sure why, but he took the food order for the table next to us first even though we arrived before them. When he finally decided to take our order, I asked for the description of two dishes and settled on the Creamy Spicy Snow Crab. Then the waiter asked if that was all for me and started to walk away without taking my dad's order! I said he'd like to order food too! He then took his order and we also ordered a spinach salad to split. They first brought my crab out and set it in the middle of the table like it was an appetizer and that is what it looked like! It was sooooooo salty but I was starving so I ate it. The picture makes it look much larger than it was. Thankfully the salad arrived and I didn't starve to death. Then they brought my dad's "entree" which was a very small piece of sea bass on a giant plate with one piece of asparagus cut in 4! Meanwhile our waiter was serving the table right next to us and spilled something on the floor and could not open their bottle of wine! He tried for about 5-7 minutes then someone else came back with it. Oh and he never came back to ask how anything was. I did tell him how salty the dish was but he seemed not to care one bit. The bill was about $130 and we are still starving! I will never be back!
Be the first to ReplyI think the reviews here have been pretty unfair, so allow
I think the reviews here have been pretty unfair, so allow me to elaborate on my experience. When you come to the hostess, they are pretty transparent of the rules. If you want to sit at the rail overlooking the court, it's a $100 per person minimum and you can stay the duration of the match. If the match is quick, they cancel your food and send you on your way. If the match lasts 2+ hours, you can stay the whole time. It's a gamble but if you know tennis, you know the matches that can end quickly. On one occasion, I wanted a rail at the beginning of a match and was put on a waiting list. I decided I was starving and the match looked like it would end quickly, so I opted for 2 seats at the sushi bar. The hostess still came over and offered me two seats at the rail. Great service (I opted to stay at the bar but was wrong and the match went long). The chef at the sushi bar gave us amazing service and we had a great time.2nd time, I showed up mid match and got 1st on the list for the next match. The current match went to a 3rd set, so I changed to a table and got great service. Both times the fish was super fresh, and the Bento Box is a sick deal for $55.So why are all the prior reviews bad? I'm not sure. I talked to a lot of people who worked at Nobu, and they came from other Nobus and were working hard. I just think all the other reviews are angry internet trolls. I've eaten at Aces at the US Open and this place blows it away.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed.
I enjoy Nobu and my experiences over the years in various cities.Service is thin and I would suggest that hard working people there are under resources and the restaraunt too thin on labor. I understand containing costs but the risk of running lean is poor service. Again, the staff were friendly, but I hope management will take lead to hire, train and resource the floor staff. Our dishes were reliable and we enjoyed the evening. Everyone in our party wished the experience was more aligned with our other visits to the other Nobu's we have enjoyed. We will return in four months or so, to see if things have improve and update the review in all fairness. There is great potential resting at this Nobu.
