Omakase at Nobu is at a good price point however the LA location is not worth the cost and experience. The service is ok, and servers and hosts did not know what was prepared or what was in the dish. The dining room environment was chaotic and very tight in space. The fish and dishes were not balanced, either very salty or something was missing. The drinks and bar here are good though. Probably a better place to grab drinks at and have a chat. Been to the Newport Beach location and it is better in terms of quality of food, ingredients and also space.

Checked out Nobu in LA and honestly it is exactly what you would expect from a spot with that kind of name. The vibe is sleek but not stiff and the staff know how to take care of you without hovering. What I liked most was how consistent everything felt. Clean, sharp, and done right. It is not about showing off, it is just solid all the way through. Definitely one of those places that feels effortless but still leaves an impression

I got the $175 omakase 7 courses and oh my goodness, I wasn't expecting full plates here. We start with a vegetable wrap which doesn't count as a course. 1st was salmon tartar, oyster in some delightful sauce and Japanese pear. The pear was amazingly sweet. 2nd was various nigori, uchi with roe and rice. 3rd was various white fish, but the center was my favorite, blue fin toro with truffle shavings and I believe it was a spicy ponzu sauce (don't quote me on this), but it was the best thing I tasted at course 3. Course 4 came with a watercress salad, i don't remember what fish it was because I was starting to hit a wall and I still have 3 more left. 5th course was miso cod and the filet was a decent size, that's one of those long plates they put rolls on, so don't let the close up fool you. 6th was delightful, A5 wagyu in truffle butter and Crispy onion! They server left me along for like 20 mins so I can get through this course lol I was like, I might take this home. Then as I sat and digested, I was like, it's too good. 7th course was miso soup, i didn't finish it but it was refreshing. The dessert, it was a flakley brownie with matcha ice cream. The drinks were about $23 each and it was ok, it was a speciality cocktail and one that wasn't on the menu. Overall I've never had an omakase like this before. It was well worth the price in my opinion.
Food- tried various items on the menu.
The seafood did not taste fresh. We even sent a dish back that smelled and tasted off. Rock Shrimp was soggy and not crispy. Wagyu beef sliders were the only item that was good. Service- we had the best service the waitress was wonderful. Ambiance- gothic atmosphere Would not recommend this place for food.
As someone who has visited 9 Nobu locations multiple times,
As someone who has visited 9 Nobu locations multiple times, this is hands down the worst one. I came here about a year ago and it was awful then and I thought it may have been a one off but nope, even worse experience the second time around. The only reason for 2 stars instead of 1 is the food is always tasty. The service here is atrocious. They have what seems to be as bunch of people walking around picking up dishes but nobody to really serve you. I got a mocktail which was really good and my mom got a glass of wine. As someone who goes to Nobu a lot, I understand that things are cooked to order and come out as they are ready. We have no issue with that. However, we both each ordered a steak dish, cooked medium rare. My dish came out in less than 10 minutes as it was possibly cooked on accident and they had one to spare. I ate my entire dish and finished my mocktail and then we STILL waited another 35 minutes for my moms steak dish to come out. Meanwhile, our non-existent server never came to our table the entire time. My mom waited for her food for 55 minutes. Once my mom got her dish and was halfway done, the server came over to ask if I was still waiting on my steak.... Knowing my visit last time wasn't a one off bad night, we have no reason to come back to this location with 2 other locations in Southern California which have not only top notch food but also incredible service. For a $250 bill, not worth your time. Go to Malibu or Newport.

Our server was absolutely stellar! Food was great - as to be expected for the really high prices. I was a bit underwhelmed by the black cod miso. Not what I was expecting - super salty and sweet so was hard to appreciate the fish itself.
Just ok
Went to Nobu expecting delicate, melt-in-your-mouth fish. Got fish so fishy it couldโve told me its life story. I swear it winked at me. Sent it back before it swam off my plate. At least the miso soup didnโt try to make eye contact. For the money they charged they need to get it together

As we all know that NOBU is the pioneer of the Japanese fusion which originated in the US by Mr. Matsuhisa Nobu and Mr. Morimoto. I've been to one in NY as well and love both of them. This place is now my peace of mind and I gotta relax eating great food such as their Wagyu and fresh sashimi with ice cold Hakkaisan sake with cucumber slice on the side. Staff are very friendly and always helping for my needs that makes me feel at home. Very clean, very sophisticated, and very authentic, but very modern.

Must-Visit for Food Lovers!
The food was nothing short of extraordinary! I tried the Black Cod Miso and Yellowtail Jalapeรฑo, and each bite was a burst of flavor. The presentation was exquisite, showcasing the culinary artistry that Nobu is known for.
F..k all
We were there at 9.30 for an ontime reservation and from the time we sat everything was rushed...and they were only interested in getting us out ASAP The food was very mediocre and food was not served at the right temperature. Very unaccommodative . Just a hype and not worth a visit
Food great! Service horrible!
Food was great! Unfortunately, this was very underwhelming. This is my first trip to LA and our first stop was Nobu West Hollywood for dinner. Ambience was not what I expected. Looking for upscale. Too loud music and SERVICE was horrible!! This is mostly my making complaint. The waiters were horrible. I hear NY is outstanding.
Amazing Food! Great Service!
We were able to make reservations in the afternoon. However, this is clearly a restaurant that caters to the rich and famous. We had to wait some time and even though there were tables available the entire time we were there on the patio, they would not seat us out there. I am sure that is because it is left available for the walk ins, like the rich and famous. Our waiter was amazing! He was very nice and informative and treated us very well. Very expensive. Be careful. Before you know it, you can be spending $500! I have to say, if you like crab, the best thing on the entire menu is the crab tempura. We ordered two bowls at $58 a bowl to share, but well worth it. No star sightings! LOL! I was just along for the ride and it was fun!
A good experience at Nobu LA
This has been a longtime โto dineโ restaurant and i finally got to sample their cuisine, which surprisingly the server, Pea, called Japanese mixed with South America (I believe Peru). Great location along a wide Hollywood road with street parking. The maze like entrance way is nicely decorated and classy and the ambiance is dimly lit and ethereal. Stepping into the main dining room, the hostess announces a welcome phrase followed by several staff members including sushi chefs repeating the welcome heartily. Pea was superb, taking us through the creative menu of tapas like dishes (thereโs a cold and hot menu) and planning our culinary journey with us. Not surprisingly the prices here are sky high - you just have to roll with it and we had a nice occasion to celebrate. Standouts from the cold menu include the whitefish sashimi with dry miso and the yellowtail jalapeno sashimi. We also loved ten engawa sushi (fin of halibut) that was off menu. Oh try the spicy tuna crispy rice which comes in a cool box with the logo and skewers of rice that is layered with the tuna. On the hot side, I highly recommend the black cod miso - so tender and flavorful - and slightly below that the Chilean seabass with a customized sauce. The vegetable toban yaki which came sizzling but a bit pedestrian can be missed. Lastly I would like to commend Pea for adorning our bento box dessert with a Congratulatory message for my daughter. All in all, I would have given a 5 rating but for the prices and the food portions were not substantial enough to make me full.
The best Japanese food !
The best Japanese food ! I had a meal at Nobu in September 2023 and it was by far the best Japanese food I have had . The service , the cocktails and the food were all top notch . The place was packed and we were lucky to get a booking The quality of food is unmatchable ! A must visit when in Los Angeles

The service was on point, i went there for my birthday and had a really great time. The food was good i will say i had a rough piece of meat but the rest were soft, the soft crab roll was one of my favorites and I would recommend ordering the lobster ceviche!
Highly recommend this spot.
Service and food, drinks and service: top notch. Be prepared to pay a pretty penny.
Awful. Awful, Awful!! Poor service cold food!! Even if you order HOT dishes.
This restaurant offers terrible service!! They have a time limit on tables but they donโt serve you so you can enjoy your meal. My husband who ordered a wagyu steak didnโt get his steak until almost an hour and a half after he ordered it. We all had to eat our dinner separately not together!!! Nobu was our waiter and he was terrible!! Wonโt EVER return to this restaurant!!
This was my first time going to Nobu without a reservation.
I made sure to show up as soon as they opened to snag a table for 8 people. The ambiance was romantic and it was beautiful inside. Let's talk about the food. The yellowtail jalapeรฑo was sliced incredibly thin which is a positive for soaking up the sauce but for for a dish that's almost 25 dollar you would expect there to be more than 6 thin slices of yellowtail. The uni pasta was a bit over cooked but the uni flavor was definitely there unlike other uni pastas I've had. The spicy tuna crispy rice was not what I was expecting but the rice was fried to perfection. Everything was cooked well but the flavors were a bit lacking. The popcorn shrimp is definitely a crowd favorite since we ordered two. I would say it's the best thing we had. I can't say that this is the best sushi or Japanese fusion I've had but it's definitely still good quality and as for the price it's pretty steep but I would like to emphasize that you are paying for amazing service and an beautiful interior ambiance. In addition, Nobu has given me the best service I have ever received. They were extremely attentive, answered all our questions, and gave amazing recommendation.
This review is for the dining experience my husband and I
This review is for the dining experience my husband and I had on September 15, 2023. My husband and I went to Nobu to celebrate his birthday. (which was never acknowledged even though we mentioned it at the time of reserving). We LOVE Nobu, and have eaten at several locations. However, this was the first time we've tried the Nobu in Los Angeles. And although the food was tasty, it wasn't as good as other locations. The tempura vegetables were a little too soggy and too greasy. My husband started with the shrimp tempura sushi, which he loved. For his main, he ordered the Black Cod Miso, which is his go-to and he said it was delicious, but unfortunately it had a few too many pin bones in it. Which is really sad! We also ordered the Spinach salad with dry miso, which is our favorite, but there was something odd tasting about this one. It just didn't taste the same. The flavors were off. I ordered the beef toban yaki, unfortunately I wasn't able to finish it because the waiter accidentally dropped a plate and it broke right by my foot, leaving shards all over me. Thankfully I wasn't cut, but since shards flew everywhere I wasn't able to finish my meal. As you can imagine, I was a bit shocked that happened. Especially when they kept asking the guy next to me if he was okay, meanwhile ignoring the fact that the plate shards were all over my foot and some even flew on my hair and shoulder! I ran to the bathroom to carefully wipe off the shards and make sure I wasn't cut. Once I came back to my seat, the manager and server were awesome about what had happened! They comped the meal, re-fired a new one to go, and even gave us dessert. The service and wait staff were awesome! We know accidents happen and they did exactly what a restaurant should do in those situations. I probably won't go back to this location because the food isn't up to par as the others, but, I was very pleased with how they handled the situation.
Delicious meal & every dish we ordered was superb.
Crispy tuna roll was the best. Wagyu & crispy shrimp was so good. Must try but make sure to make resy. Need to try the Malibu location too.
Vibey spot with good ambiance.
When busy, service is not great. Vegan options are ok, but nothing special beyond veggie rolls and veggies. Honorable mention - eggplant and lychee martini are both amazing.
Nobu lives up to its reputation and price tag through and
Nobu lives up to its reputation and price tag through and through. What was particularly special about this experience was the curated selections from our waiter. Rather than traditionally looking through the menu and hoping we liked our selections, he asked what we liked as well as allergies, diets, etc. and selected dishes based on that. Everything was decadent and impressive. I'm a seafood and sushi lover, so it takes a lot to surprise me. So, it was refreshing to be treated to a whole new experience. Also, the ambient was nice, a very upscale dining feel. Of course, just know to expect to pay a pretty penny for this treat.

The service was very good, but the food was ok no as I expected. Overall very expensive for 'ok' food
I was very pleased with the overall experience.
Given their reputation, I had high expectations. The location is hard to miss and tucked away. The valet is $17. We went on a Saturday night and, shockingly, it wasn't very busy. The host was super sweet and our waiter Zander was awesome; gave great recommendations. The food was fresh, full of flavor and came out hot. The drinks were also refreshing and not too sweet. The ambiance is very chill, definitely not like Malibu, but in a good way. It seems more intimate and less superficial. The meal was roughly $300 for everything.
Great Experience!
Yesterday we had our first experience of Chef โNobuโsโ cuisine on land. We had had it on Crystal Cruises in the past. It was a lovely experience. Service was superb. Prices are high, but that was expected. What was not so pleasant was one special we got that was more than double of the average dish price. Unfortunately it was not my favorite. The food quality was also excellent, although some of the flavor pairing was not to my taste. (I love both Japanese and Peruvian cuisine.) Truffle just doesnโt go well with raw fish! My favorites were the cucumber sunomono (on the edge of being just a tad too sweet) and the pistachio dessert. All in all it was a great experience.

Total let down, zero care from staff.
I am rating this Nobu with zero stars. An utter disgrace from management. Having dined at Nobu all over the world for 20 years last night has left me never wanting to return. Cold soup and edamame arrived after 1 hour. Having asked the server, chef and manager for our food we eventually decided to cut our loses and leave as we had no confidence that the food would ever arrive. When we complained it was like weโd insulted them. The most disappointing part of the experience was no one cared, no solutions offered and a manager content to let a long term customer walk out feeling totally let down. They need to have a long hard look at themselves, hubris at its worst.
Ripped us off by suggesting the waiter order for us
Food was very good but terribly expensive.... I made the mistake of taking the advise of the waiter to let him order the entire meal for us..... We agreed for he said 90% of his customers did this.... The bill came to over $1000 which was outrageous.... We were upsold big time by NOBU and the waiter.... Won't ever go back there.

Food was very good but waiter said that 90% of his customers let him order for the table... We agreed and the bill came to over $1000 and he brought out way to much food... He upselled us terribly... Will never go back to NOBU LA again with this type of tactic... Ripped us off!

My husband took me to celebrate my 41st bday and it was delicious. This was our first time and we weren't disappointed. I did my research and ordered things I saw as highly recommended. I loved the black cod miso and my husband loved the wagyu and the lobster tocos the best. Honestly everything was so good. Our waiter was Jacob and he was super nice and attentive which was great for a very busy Friday night. He answered our questions and had great's recommendations in how many plates to order and also drinks that matched our taste. The valet in front was $40 on a Friday night but we easily found parking across the street.
Fantastic experience, if you know what to order.
I'm going to start off with things that I would skip next time: the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, the Yellowtail Jalapeno, Toro Tartar with Caviar, Shishito Peppers. The Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice is definitely not worth the price, the Toro Tartar was good but also not worth the price, the Yellowtail Jalapeno is a little too basic, and the Shishito Peppers were good too but nothing special. Things that I think are worth trying but probably wouldn't order again: Miso-Marinated Black Cod. Tasted good, but was not my favorite and was not extremely special to me. It was exactly as I expected. Things that I will definitely come back for: Albacore Sashimi with Truffle and Baby Artichoke, Yellowtail Carpaccio, Snapper Dry Miso, Salmon New Style, Salmon Yuzu Karashi Su Miso. Most of these seem to be chef specials and were brought out based on our server's recommendations, but I do see that other customers have also ordered these before. I loved all of the different kinds of sashimi and carpaccio that we tried. I think that all of these are worth a try because they tasted exceptional compared to the other dishes I listed in the beginning. Service was one of the best, of course. Lovely ambiance in their covered outdoor area. Nobu is definitely worth a visit if you follow your server's recommendations. I know they have some popular dishes, but some of them are overhyped, and you're better off sticking with their nigiri or sashimi.

Pea, DC, and Adrianne really made us feel settled and came by at a pace that allowed us to enjoy a dinner experience while not feeling neglected or overwhelmed. The staff were excellent!!!

Dinner reservations Sat 7:30p Valet parking High quality fish and steak. Would order the off menu salmon with mustard sauce again and the yuzu truffle butter steak. Would skip the spicy mayo shrimp and wagyu tacos (too small). Bread pudding was surprisingly fantastic! Don't skip dessert.

Came here for my birthday a few months ago.
We found street parking nearby. No need for valet. The food was good. The only item that was not good was the miso soup. Basic, easy, miso soup. It was bland. We tried the tempura, ribeye with crispy onion, 2 sushi rolls, dessert was a warm-delicious treat topped with ice cream. BANANA CARAMEL SOY TOBAN YAKI. (Order it). We tried 2 of their drinks. Which were delicious!! One was named after Nobu. So good!! It had a kiwi at the bottom. It was a little over $500 for two
It was just ok.
Food was ( Extremely over priced) Taste was good, but not a WOW factor. Too Dark, too crowded, too noisy. An over all good time, but I would not return for the food. I would just for the Ambience

creamy spicy crab, A5 wagyu, assortments of mushrooms, more creamy seafood, ribeye, nigiri, and more. walking out the door with a certain sense of confidence and carefree, as if I was a frequent, I approached the aventador svr in valet (not mine). my stomach of no bound grew, along with my appetite. I survey the peasants across. its keeps growing. we summon the X7 (rented) to conclude, yet I understood it has only begun.
After years of not coming to Nobu in a while, I wanted to
After years of not coming to Nobu in a while, I wanted to surprise my partner with dinner here on valentines day. I did have to book this reservation weeks in advance but I was excited to share this experience. For this location in West Hollywood I would expect to pay for valet parking in front of the restaurant or come in early to circle around the busy streets for street parking. If you are waiting to be seated or for a reservation they do have a bar area where you can snag a couple drinks before dinner. The service was phenomenal and our server was upbeat, insightful and kind throughout our whole dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is what you expect from any upscale restaurant, with modern looks and dim lighting. The food and flavors from the various dishes is what makes nobu so popular. My favorites and must orders are the yellowtail jalapeno, blackened miso cod, and some Nigiri/sashimi but make sure to ask them for toppings! They topped our king salmon with this truffle oil that elevated it to the next level. Other things that are solid are the tacos which we got the wagyu ones and tuna ones. Just note these tacos are bite size but packed with flavor. They also had some great custom cocktails that are worth a try. Overall I spent like $250 (before tip) on a dinner for two which was delicious but quite frankly we were still hungry but had tried all the items we had wanted to. Nobu is definitely worth a try and a great dining experience just know that it wont come cheap.
Hard pass
The waiter was nice. That was the best part of the evening. The restaurant itself is underwhelming. Open floor with the sushi counter on one side. Two private party rooms closed off. Food was below average. Rolls were room temperature and bland. A blob of wasabi and ginger was the garnish. Fried okra was the best of the meal. The chicken teriyaki was a lukewarm chicken breast with a wing attached sitting in a pool of bottled teriyaki sauce. No rice, no garnish. Iโve had better at the mall food court. I think the restaurant probably goes all out for celebrities, but the average diner will be disappointed. The place lives on its over rated reputation. Even our concierge when we returned to the hotel said the place was not somewhere heโd recommend We had much better food elsewhere in LA.
Ruined experience, illogical management
Ridiculous, illogical servers and management that ruined the experience and ambiance. I ordered drinks and asked for their omakase (a $250 meal) and the server said that if my partner was not to โparticipate in the omakase as wellโ then the โexperience would be ruinedโ and they couldnโt serve me it. I am a regular Nobu customer and have ordered it just for myself almost every time with no issue, as would be expected. Upon asking for a manager I asked what the problem with ordering it individually was, and she would NOT give me a straight answer at all, it was clear there was no actual issue. I asked if it was it the timing of the dishes or when we would finish, if it was a food temperature issue, many circumstances, and all she repeated was โit would ruin the experience if we served it to you.โ She said she could โspeak to the chefโ and make โa modified version that is very similar,โ it was clear to me at this point they were attempting a substitution upsell with their lack of explanations and ambiguous language. I felt so belittled by the staff trying to coerce me into believing this was their typical policy, and the hand-waving away of all my rebuttals to their illogical explanations of why this mysterious, enigmatic โexperienceโ of ordering an eight course meal would be RUINED without my partnerโs โparticipation .โ Insulting and degrading. Dine at another Nobu.
Go to Catch LA instead
Obnoxious staff. Uncomfortable atmosphere. Food inadequately served. The waiter was one of the rudest I have ever come across. Spoke only to my mother and not the other 6 of us. Was patronising borderline aggressive and made us all feel on edge. In comparison to Catch the night before this was an absolutely awful experience. We had dined in Nobu Dubai as part of stay at Atlantis and had an amazing experience. This was appalling in comparison to that

Nobu is a high-end sushi restaurant that offers an incredible dining experience. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. I absolutely love this spot! 5/5 Also- order the miso eggplant and mochi. They're my faves.
Hello! I've never been here until tonight.
I'm vegan, I had a lovely server named Art(: he knew everything about the menu, answered ever question easy peasy super informative about everything. I appreciate how much attention he put into my questions. Thank you Art!!! I love art! And Nobu!
Food was all amazing and everything had me wanting more.
Our server was also very friendly and the inside and dining room was nice as well. The only thing I'd have to say is that the food took a little long to come out and this is especially true with the jidori chicken. Besides that everything was spot on including the drinks.
Had a great afternoon at Nobu.
The food was overall very delicious with the highlights being the passionfruit lychee non alcoholic drink and the chocolate bento box desert - both were truly spectacular. Lots of choices on the menu - as a pescaterean I had many options! The fish dishes were very generous portions and came piping hot. Neither were particularly memorable but both were solid and flavorful. While it's definitely a fun scene and a vibe which is of course why one treks out there in the first place, the staff seemed harried and not totally in control which gave it a hectic feeling as opposed to a more chill and calm experience which was more what I was expecting. It was sensory overload. The loud music also overpowered the sound of the waves. I was surprised that the bar had a TV - this made it feel corporate and killed the vibe a bit though you don't need to spend any time in that area if you have a reservation. Two of our dishes didn't show up but it was all good - I'm sure we could have gotten them if we had pushed for it but they were appetizers and we already had our main dishes. All in all, it was a unique experience and I'm glad I went - the dessert alone is reason enough to go back!!

If this is the kind of place that you're into you should come at least once. The food at Nobu is pretty good, I enjoy the tacos and the yellow fin jalapeรฑo dish. The time I went the service was OK but some of my friends have had not so pleasant experiences here.
