fine food
Dining at Oleana in Boston was a culinary voyage that celebrated the flavors of the Mediterranean and the art of fine dining. The restaurantโs elegant and contemporary ambiance set the stage for an exceptional meal. The menu was a symphony of fresh ingredients and creative combinations, highlighting the richness of Mediterranean cuisine. The tasting menu was a journey into innovative flavors and exquisite presentations. The staffโs knowledge of the menu and their dedication to culinary excellence made the dining experience truly exceptional. Pairing the dishes with wines from the carefully curated list was a delightful exploration of Mediterranean gastronomy. Oleana is not just a restaurant; itโs a tribute to the beauty of fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a must-visit for anyone seeking an exceptional gastronomic experience in Boston.

I.e.: nine dollars for one deviled egg is outrageous. Prices are not logical for vegetables and beans. Added gratuity for adminstration/staff whereas a higher salary should be given to employees, this is not the responsibilty of patrons.
Be the first to ReplySeveral disappointing glitches
Oleana has been a favorite of mine and my friends for many years. However, some of its allure is beginning to wear off, though the garden patio is still lovely and the food remains good-to-excellent. Last night, my party of four waited in line for half an hour in order to secure a first-come-first-serve patio table. We were relatively near the beginning of the line. The table that we were presented with wasnโt in a location that we preferred. When we asked the employee who was seating people if we might change tables, the response was borderline nasty, so we decided to let it go. We were advised that the meze dishes were likely to arrive in staggered fashion, and so they did. But we were chagrined (and perplexed) that the one person in our party who ordered a large plate had to wait nearly an hour and a half for her dinner. Consequently, the rest of us were at the dessert stage by the time her dish was delivered. Finally, I have been consistently disappointed that what I imagine must be one of Oleanaโs all-time most delectable, popular offerings, lamejuns, has been absent from the menu for the last few years. Iโve received various explanations, none of which make much sense to me. Hopefully, the glitches in service and cordiality that we encountered were flukes and the much-missed lamejuns will return.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect meal
Great atmosphere. Expertly prepared with the freshest ingredients available. Great wine list with staff who knows their stuff and how to be hospitable. It was one of the best meal in a long time. Only tiny ( and I mean tiny) was that the tables were too close and could use some sound buffering. But overall excellent. Will come back for sure.
Be the first to ReplyReally tasty, really cozy
Very good food in a warm environment. Service was pleasant and unpretentious. Really nice for Boston, as places with food this good tend to get a little haughty.
Be the first to ReplyAn absolute treat to eat here!!!
Unfortunately we live in Los Angeles. But we come to Boston regularly to visit our daughter. We come to Oleana at least once every time we come to Bostn area. Fortunately there were six of us, two young foodie children, (5&8) One is a vegetarian. Both love to eat great food. We shared almost every dish that we ordered. We had the Tapik, stuffed potato hummus, pine nuts, tahini and radish. Loved by all! As was the feta with sweet peas and hot peppers and seeded crackers. The flattened potatoes we ordered two orders because we remembered them from last time. They are AMAZING! We had the spinach falafel with tahini sauce, beet Tzatziki and pickles. How do they come up with such delicious and complex combinations? We had two orders of the Sultans Delight-tamarind beef and smoky eggplant puree. Always consistently wonderful. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly. The outside was crisp and the inside was medium rare. I love arctic char and my wife loves the white bean plyaz. We each had some of the arctic char other than our vegetarian grandson. We all shared the 7- vegetable Brik. With mushrooms, potatoes, corn and red pepper relish. We ordered a lot of food but it was all gone when we left. The dessert was the Baked Alaska which was really good. Our waiter โTopherโ was a delight. He was very informative and helpful. He was cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. The people who delivered our food to the table were so professional. They spoke about what each dish was. My wife who is allergic to shell fish in particular to muscles was told about each dish that she could or could not eat. The kitchen separated items for her and our grandson. They were very busy but we never felt pushed to finish. Just an โAMAZINGโexperience. Thank you everyone!!!!
Be the first to ReplyWow wow wow! Great find in Cambridge!
Just had a fabulous meal at Oleana and canโt wait to go back. Two of us split four meze plates - swordfish, feta saganaki, zucchini and Fatteh - Fatteh by far our favorite, so much so we ordered a second plate! Sooooo good! But do yourself a favor and donโt over order on dinner, plan on dessert too! We had an order of profiteroles and the white chocolate mousse - WOW! Such interesting flavors, perfectly prepared and beautifully presented! AND our server, Dave C, was FABULOUS. He was so passionate about the food they serve and seemed to really enjoy serving - so happy with each dish we ordered because he knew we would enjoy! What a great experience and we highly recommend you try!
Be the first to ReplyUnimpressed with food
This is a very charming place. The staff is very good, friendly, efficient, knowledgeable. They seem to have a good wine list. However aside from a goat cheese appetizer we got, I found the food underwhelming despite hearing rave reviews about this place.
Be the first to Replya voyage of delicate spices
Loved the venue itself : you immediately feel at ease in this comfortable setting. The garden area is amazing at this time of the year with fully blossomed trees. The food : middle eastern and Turkish delicacies at their best - discrete spices transport you to the tales of the Thousand and One Nights . Delicious! We will go back without a doubt.
