Osteria Langhe is a solid Italian restaurant with a very cozy and inviting ambiance. I have been here several times and have enjoyed it each time. The food is consistently good and the pasta dishes are well done - Definitely get the plin pasta here It is a little pricey for the quality of food but it makes sense for the ambiance and service provided

This place is OUTSTANDING!!!!! We had amazing cocktails, appetizers, dinner and dessert! Our server, Maggie L, was also super attentive, and gave great recommendations! Can't wait to come back!!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and experience.
We came here on a Wednesday, where they offer a fixed price menu. That was a great option, particularly as they don't require the entire table to do this. One of us had that and the other ordered 3 or 4 items off the menu. Our server was excellent and was very knowledgeable on both the food and the wine. What a great little Italian restaurant that really focuses on great food and a great experience.
Be the first to ReplyIf I could give a zero for this restaurant I would.
The portions are TINY (the Plin is literally 4 bites for $20) and I left ravenous for $80. The house vodka resembled rubbing alcohol, all of which I write from my couch while eating a sandwich because I'm starving. Below pic is of the salad, which was mentioned would be big enough to serve 4 of us (hand for size). Truly a 0/10 experience

The chef created a risotto topped with scallops that is the best risotto that I have ever tasted. I will state (not to brag, but to give reference) that I am a risotto expert and have made over 70 risotti. This dish at Osteria Langhe has to be tasted to be believed. Other choices on the menu are also delicious and worth the trip.

The food service was pretty top notch as someone who worked in the restaurant industry for ages I can say we were treated well. The wine was full bodied and tasty. The salad was overwhelming with great flavors and was exactly what I wanted from a salad. The entree was a smaller portion but it was filling and embodied the idea of elegance . Would recommend to anyone looking for a simple night out with a bit of extra spice. Pricing is a bit high but still not bad for a date night . Overall 9/10 experience would go again!

[Osteria Langhe] Italian restaurant in the Palmer Square / Logan Square area, specializing in Northern Italy / Piemonte cuisine. Highly ranked Italian restaurant This is my all time favorite restaurant. It gives off small rustic hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant vibes. Dim lighting, candle lit, limited seating, vintage ambiance. I can only thank my friends for introducing me to this place and I went back to try almost the rest of their menu 1. Appetizers: Toasted Focaccia and Vitello Tonnato which is a poached beef with tuna. Bread was slightly below average, hard, burnt tasting, nothing crazy. The Vitello Tonnato is amazing. Tuna isn't fishy and pairs really well with the beef, citrus-y, acidic dish. High praise 2. Pork Tenderloin. Server recommended although I was hesitant. Most times I've gotten pork is super dry and grainy. This was amazing, super tender, juicy, flavorful 3. Coniglio (Prosciutto wrapped rabbit loin with pork belly / Favorite dish) 4. Prime beef I believe. Not currently on their menu 5. Carne Cruda (raw beef, cured egg yolk, cracker) very comparable to beef tartare 6. Insalata (similar to veggie tempura) 7. Mushroom pasta? Not on the menu anymore. I forgot 8. Chocolate Creme Puff 9. Affogato 10. Misc Overall, 10/10. Super high notes. Amazing. The palate is so diverse here from sweet, acidic, savory, etc. The dishes are creative, stepping outside the boundaries of ordinary Italian food. The service is great. Price point matches the food and quality without overly expensive. I dream of this place. https://www.osterialanghe.com 2824 West Armitage Avenue Chicago, IL 60647

Have been going here for years, and I've loved every single bite. Recently went for dinner. Always always always get the plin, which, in my opinion is one of the city's great dishes. You cannot go wrong with pasta. Wine list is full of excellent Italian reds by the bottle.

In a sentence: Creative, inspired, elevated Italian fare in a low key, upscale casual dining atmosphere. This was our first visit to Osteria Langhe, a special birthday dinner that absolutely lived up to our hopes. Trying new Italian restaurants can be tough - everyone has their go tos and their favorites, and sometimes it's tough to even want to explore outside of your pocket. You'll want to go to Osteria Langhe because they create and execute dishes you aren't likely to find anywhere else in the city, and they're doing them extremely well. If you're a wine connoisseur, you'll have a field day with the options. I wouldn't put myself at that level, but as someone who knows enough to be able to pick and enjoy a solid bottle at an affordable range, which is exactly what we did and greatly enjoyed. We started with the quiche, perhaps an odd thing to see on an Italian menu, but a perfect savory starter, filled with crunchy asparagus, mushrooms, melty fontina, and the most delicious squash puree I've ever had. A really great alternative to the usual bread and butter. Then it was onto the delicata squash gnocchi, a similar flavor profile done in a different way, with pillowy soft gnocchi taking in all that flavor, the pecorino and pepitas adding texture, saltiness, and depth. For our entrees, the verdura was one of the most enjoyable dishes I've had in a long time, essentially an elevated vegetable pot pie, just bursting with flavors and textures. Crispy filo dough, more squash and asparagus, brussels, mushrooms, spinach, leek cream and hazelnuts, just an absolute cornucopia of flavors in one dish. We also shared the special, a truffle risotto dish, topped off with an egg, a first for me. We both felt it needed some sort of textural element (toasted breadcrumbs?), but the flavors were next level, particularly as that egg continued to mix in with everything else. It added such a depth of flavor and umami that now I can't imagine having risotto without it. As it was my birthday, the incredible chocolate pudding, an elevated "dirt cup" that tasted like the kind of pudding your grandmother would make, was comped, which was lovely. We did add a scoop of pistachio gelato, which featured waves of flavor I can't quite recall ever having in an ice cream before. Overall, just a wonderful dining experience. Staff were attentive, but not on top of you. We were able to take our time and enjoy an expensive night out without ever feeling rushed. I could see some folks feeling cramped if they were super packed, but I also kind of liked the feel of the layout and atmosphere - it felt far more like a hole in the wall Italian joint in NYC than you typically find in Chicago. Just a really great experience. We will definitely be back to check out their spring menu!

I had anniversary reservations on Saturday, March 18th and Osteria Langhe did NOT disappoint. The ambiance was great, it's a small place so it can get crowded on busy nights but it never seemed that way. Service was spectacular. There wasn't one underwhelming bite. We got the Vitello Tonnato, Carne Crudo, Plin and the Coniglo. The Rabbit was definitely the star but man was I impressed with everything. I cannot wait to go back.
Be the first to ReplyWe are #blessed this place is around the corner from us.
It's a very intimate setting so perfect for date nights. It can get a bit loud because of the smaller space but not too bad. The service is quick and attentive with a thorough knowledge of the menu and drink list. We ordered the sea bass and duck breast risotto, which was a special that night. Both dishes were awesome but the duck risotto was next level. We hated our food so much we cleaned our plates. The dessert selection is fantastic and well worth saving room for! We'll be back again and again!

This is by far my favorite Italian restaurant in Chicago! Their plin is to die for! Highly recommend!

Great for a date night. The Plin and risotto you must order! The gnocchi was a little underwhelming, but still goodSkip the bread app and get something else. The bread was just alright.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is excellent.
Staff is knowledgeable and professional. Atmosphere is warm. Great date spot. I would highly recommend this place. It is pricey. Only negative. If you are vegetarian, vegan, or even pescatarian there are very few options. They do have food for you, and it is excellent, but there will literally be one or two options on the menu. The menu is very very heavy on the meat. I personally find this irritating and makes me feel that I have to double check the current menu before going. I have no idea how easy it is to do that. Extra effort for sure.

I went to Osteria Langhe with a group of close friends to catch up and celebrate the holidays. It was a warm, wonderful meal. We went for it - cocktails, appetizers, wine, pasta, and dessert - and everything tasted great. I especially recommend the ragu. Enjoy.

This place is just simply perfect from the service, to the atmosphere, the drinks, and of course the food. I would recommend the Cannella, Vitello Tonnato, Ragu, and Plin.
Be the first to ReplyVery small portions but was warned by the server.
Ordered a ravioli dish and shrimp pasta and was not impressed. The filling was a bit bitter and very average. Drinks were good, had a vodka soda drink and recommended white wine. I would say they were the star of the night. The ambiance was night and got to see a drunk couple make out at the bar.
Be the first to ReplyWould give this 3.
5 stars if I could. Food was decent but not anything special. Service was slow. Cocktails were pretty good but it's hit or miss on the menu The ambiance is cute & nice place to have dinner. However I don't think I'd come back at the price point & quality.
