Excellent Peking duck; well-prepared, well-carved flavorful
Excellent Peking duck; well-prepared, well-carved flavorful meat, enough pancakes and accompaniments! Other dishes were fine too.

Crazy white lighting! The craziest door crack I have ever seen in a stall the lock was outside the door and felt someone could put a hand in there. The purifying bag felt comforting but that was the only comfort I was getting from this experience. Toilet Sitability: 4/10
Be the first to ReplyWe wanted a lot of duck and we got it.
A whole duck was sliced (not shredded) for the three of us and we scoffed it no problem. Delicious thick pieces of duck with crispy skin. Yes we made pancakes but really we just wanted another whole duck. Good value and good service. The boys on the next table had a bottle of wine and a bottle of whiskey with their duck. Admirable but less time handling duck if you have to handle bottles as well. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyIt's my go to for Peking duck.
Get yourself 4 or 5 friends and roll over and get a duck and embrace the decadence. It's noisy, it's greasy, it's loaded with msg, and the duck is delicious, and the restaurant a fun experience. We order Just the duck ala carte and maybe some dumplings to start but the all inclusive meal is just way too much food, and we've found not worth twice the price. Love this place, though. It's a classic.

the food here is great but for the price it's very pricey and the portion it's gives is small.
Be the first to ReplyIts has it all! Do not be scared off by crowds or lines.
Put your name in, go grab a drink, and or a bottle of wine for dinner and come back. Well worth the wait and the staff take very good care of their customers! As always, the kitchen does not not disappoint.
Be the first to ReplyCame here just for duck and it was OK.
Slightly above average if that but overall nothing crazy Extremely small dining but that's normal. They do a table side duck carving which is fancy. The duck itself was moist and slightly crispy skin a great amount of fat to meat ratio. What I disliked is that they had SO much meat left on the carcass but they stopped once the plate is full of meat. In Houston they usually make a soup or stir fry the leftovers but after eating we figured it wasn't coming. I ended did asking if I could have the carcass which I'm glad they gave me cause I paid for a whole duck. I would like to eat the whole duck. LOL. Apparently they don't cause a choking issue in the past? But safe to say I destroyed that Carcass

Went here yesterday with my wife and daughter for a late lunch. We're locals, not tourists, and not first timers for Peking Duck. Ordered a whole duck ($79), Kung Pao shrimp ($30), and their house made noodles with beef ($18). They have a station in the dining room for carving the duck. A guy in a chef's outfit comes out and carves it, which is a nice feature. The duck was just OK. The skin was crisp, but the flavor was a bit off. In my mind, I wouldn't be surprised if the whole duck took a quick trip through the deep fryer, because there was a note of old fryer oil. The slices of duck, mostly skin, most with a layer of fat, and some meat attached, were chewy and not tender, which means it wasn't cooked properly. The duck is served with hoisin sauce, julienned cucumber, and 4" pieces of scallion. Some of the cucumber pieces were waterlogged, which often happens when it freezes in a too cold part of the refrigerator. These could have easily been picked out from the rest. It's these details which indicate the quality of the kitchen. I would say the cucumber pieces weren't even from that day. The scallions did not have the roots properly trimmed off, and some edges of the root end were brown. More sloppiness. They have Kung Pao squid on the menu, so we ordered Kung Pao shrimp. What we received was shrimp in a sugary sauce with red chili pepper, which I find out later is their version of Peking style shrimp also known as shrimp in chili sauce. It was good, just not what we ordered. I would have pounded that out to the waiter if he ever came to check on us after serving the food. When I pointed out to the (seemingly Chinese) waiter at the end of the meal that this was not Kung Pao, he said yes it was. I asked him if he ate Kung Pao, and he said yes. I said, Kung Pao in sugary sauce? He said yes. Then he explains, the ordering button on the computer says Kung Pao shrimp, but in English it prints on the ticket, Peking style shrimp. This is just more sloppy nonsense. The waiter seemed inexperienced in general. The house made noodles with beef were cooked in the wok with some Wok Hei technique present, which was good, but the sauce was bland. Overall, this restaurant is phoning it in, and just going through the paces, catering to the transient tourist crowd.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food.
Wanted an authentic place to eat as we're Only here for few days! This place was packed but got seated and the food was fab! Bit pricey but still amazing experience.
Be the first to ReplyWe ordered the House special dinner for two, for $59.
00 per person. This includes HALF PEKING DUCK and choice of 1 entree for which we ordered the LOBSTER WITH GINGER AND SCALLIONS. It also includes appetizers and a soup, CHICKEN WITH PINENUTS, SPRING ROLL, BARBECUED BEEF AND STEAMED DUMPLING, for soups the options are WONTON SOUP as well as the SHRIMP RICE SOUP. The DUCK obviously is the speciality at this restaurant, the skin was crispy and the flavor was quite authentic but the meat was a bit dry. I really like the CHICKEN WITH PINENUTS and the LOBSTER was just okay as well as the soups. The restaurant was very full and noisy and the tables can be quite close to each other but the staff do a good job keeping everyone attended quickly.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was just alright.
It's clear the restaurant has pivoted to accommodate western taste palate and has lost its touch of authenticity. The dumpling wrappers were hard and thick, and I'm fairly certain they were prebought wrappers. Duck was good, as was the sauce. However, rather than traditional wrappers, they gave us gigantic tortillas.

A group of 3 of us dined at Peking Duck House located in Chinatown, NYC on a winter Friday evening. They also have another location in NYC as well.It was about a 15 minute wait before we were seated. This restaurant actually gets packed. It's totally fancy inside with white table cloth and showcases their silverware. Their waiters spoke really good English. It's one of those restaurant you can bring your clients, go with a group of friends or dine with family. It's really worth it to go with a group.Peking Duck House signature dish is its duck. Their menu is customized in such a way where you can order 1/2 duck for a group of two or four. So there were three of us and we were able to order 1/2 duck for a group of 2. Our orders came with two soups, four spring rolls, chicken with peanuts that's served with salad leaf and a few beef skewers. Our order came with one entree so we decided to get the shrimp fried rice. Now back to the duck, they sliced it up into pieces and served in a plate. They also served with a taco kinda wrap, celeries, cucumbers and this brown sauce that's addicting. The duck is then seasoned and roasted, often in a vertical oven, until the skin is crispy and golden.Basically you can make your own duck taco. It's the most delicious, tasty and crispy duck I'd ever tried. You can also bring your own wine which is always a plus.Excellent services! A bit pricey, but overall the food was delicious and atmosphere was just amazing. Enjoy!
Be the first to ReplyA great sit-down Chinese restaurant with tons of options.
I really liked their orange chicken mostly because the chicken was thinly sliced and the breading was awesome. The Peking duck was great too.
Be the first to ReplyIt's been a while and the food is still delicious here.
Love that the Peking duck is still wrapped in the thin crepe rather than the bao bun. And the ribs were so yummy.

If there is an option to give this place zero stars I would! We came here every year for Chinese new year. The quality of the food was great years ago! But not THIS YEAR! There were flies everywhere ( we were seated in the basement) Food was terrible for $50 per person!! When ask for to go containers, they gave me containers with baby cockroaches in it! So no! We won't be coming back! Plus, the server spilled water on my worker with no apology!
Be the first to ReplyI will always return to Peking Duck House, but just know
I will always return to Peking Duck House, but just know it's never going to be either the best Chinese food or the best service you get - and that's totally fine' the duck itself is tasty and I always always enjoy the wraps. Here, I have never had table side carving or wraps made whereas I believe they still do this at the midtown location - it's super crowded in here so I guess that is why. The other entrees are always tasty but super greasy and like elevated Chinese take out. Sizzling beef as well as the shrimp and general tso chicken stood out. Appetizers that come with the set menu are decent too.
Be the first to ReplyStopped here for lunch we got the famous peking duck.
It was nice and crispy. And they cut it table side which made for a cool outing
Be the first to ReplyPeking Duck House at Mott Street is a rip off!!! They
Peking Duck House at Mott Street is a rip off!!! They make you buy the whole duck and only cut the skin from the duck (no meat), and give it to you for your peking duck pancake. They then quickly run to the kitchen with the rest of the duck with all the meat and tell you that they gave you everything on the duck. It wasn't worth $75. You can go Flushing, Queens for better peking duck for half the price and with all the meat. This place is a scam. If you have to go there, keep the whole duck at your table and carve the pieces on your own.
Be the first to ReplyWent here to celebrate Lunar New Year.
Nice and clean restaurant with reasonably okay service when compared to similar restaurants in Chinatown. We tried the whole Peking Duck. Sad to report but it lacked flavor, seemed like it was flash cooked, and the skin lacked the crispy consistency you'd expect from a Peking Duck. They have some nerve calling themselves Peking Duck House. What a shame! Tried the dumplings as well and it was "doughy" and raw. Lacked basic flavors.Average chicken fried rice. Now the hunt continues for better option.
