Pierre's Bridgehampton Reviews from The Last Year
Oh la la!
Oh la la! This is a great spot on the main drag. Although it’s not very large inside they have outdoor seating. The quality of the sandwiches are excellent and the dinner menu is lovely-I had mouses frites. The bar area small but well decorated. A definite stop on a Hamptons summer / fall day
Went there for my husband's birthday.
I had the salmon nicoise salad, a glass of sauvignon blanc. My husband had a cheeseburger and a diet coke. My salmon was cooked perfectly, a very healthy portion! Glass of wine was lovely! The burger was big, tasty and good fries. Service was great, friendly waiter! We finished it off with the raspberry meringue.. very fresh! First time going here and we were very impressed, made for a lovely birthday treat. Don't get the neg reviews. Would definitely come back.

Decor is dated and unloved, almost as if someone gave up on wanting to actually maintain upkeep. The food is yummy however sorely under seasoned, perhaps it's due to having a relatively older clientele base - but yeah, be sure to ask for salt. Service is consistently friendly, servers do a nice job.
Never Again
Having eaten at Pierre's earlier in the month and having enjoyed the experience, I gladly agreed to join friends for New Year's Eve. Unfortunately, I will not be returning given the poor quality of food, service and overpriced meal. My entree was not edible (overcooked and shoe leather tough veal chop), the lack of not being offered the welcoming cocktail and a $100 per person bar bill for 2 drinks. Not only was the prix fixed dinner overpriced for what was delivered, the staff seemed eager to run up the bar tab to improve the amount of their gratuities. Overall this was not a pleasant dining experience that left a bad taste in my mouth.
Very disappointing!
Food was good but an order of french fries was 17 dollars because they don't allow substitute. A manhattan was 30 dollars which is crazy. The restaurant was understaffed as they had one waitress who was great but she was tending bar as well as waiting tables. They had people at the bar and at least 13 tables of people. We left before dessert which I was looking forward to on my birthday. The owner should be ashamed that he was so short staffed. Will not return which is a shame as the food was good. .
From the moment you walk in and are greeted you know it
From the moment you walk in and are greeted you know it will be a great experience. Host, I believe the owner, was warm and welcoming. Service staff, amazing, food delicious! Beautifully decorated!!
I will never be the same
Why should you go here? Well, you shouldn’t. Terrible music. Pricey and mediocre food. The bar crowd was from a sideshow: a man from a couple shoveling pieces of steak with his hand, a nit screeching at the bartender to pack her food for her son arriving later, and an overly chatty host with a barfly regular. How depressing. Passed this place many times, now will speed up as I do. It’s a damaging experience
Sorry to say but the service was as bad as the food.
The waitresses was arrogant and rude, manager came and must admit solve the service issue, unfortunately the food was bad ! Everything we took was not at the level ! Sorry, its very rare ( probably second time ) that i write a review, but i rather share it . Hope the management will take it in consideration.

Tuesday night is the night if you want good food in a beautiful environment with lovely live music. And, the service was easy.

I come for the Winters to Bridgehampton and like many I enjoy, on the odd occasion, authentic fine dining but it was not to be found here. What one has is a well situated restaurant with clean white table cloths and that is where it ends. The experience started off with pseudo French service, cold food that was supposed to be hot and a bottle of French wine warm when it was supposed to be cold. The bill ... well it's the Hamptons so expect to pay (a lot) but don't expect to leave feeling you had a fun time for your money - you most likely wont.
Great job Pierre!
We try to avoid the south fork in season, but love this place so much we stopped in at 2pm on an August Friday. Although packed, we found two seats at the bar. Great and fairly priced bottled wine list, fantastic burger, even better service. Food and wine came faster than imaginable given the crowd. 10 stars.
Great food for lunch.
The tuna tartare was outstanding and fresh. The chicken dish which I never order was delicious. Staff was friendly. Price was steep though.
Pierre lost his mind
Pierre us a megalomanic that has no clue about customer service and seems to have lost his mind. Rude to everyone, food is average at best, kitchen id in a disgusting state. Dirty in there and needs a desperate reno. Pushes customers around so its a surprise he remains in business. Toping rose is so much better and nicer dining room for the same money. Go there instead.
Of my 4 years being a Yelp Elite and 5 years posting more
Of my 4 years being a Yelp Elite and 5 years posting more than a hundred reviews, I have only ever given one spot a 1-star review. Now, we are up to two... Before coming here, I checked Yelp (of course) and noticed a glaringly low rating. I always read the reviews when it's low because people are often obtuse and will give a 1 star because the host was rude to them or something so trivial. After seeing MULTIPLE reviews about people finding COCKROACHES IN.THEIR.FOOD. I decided not to eat here. Because I was with 5 other people and didn't want to be "that girl" who changed everyone else's plans, I just sat at the table with them but didn't order anything. First thing, this is not an upscale restaurant. Despite the Main St. address and wealthy clientele, this is your average French bistro that you would find anywhere else. We had the outdoor seating for brunch, and we were on tables on the sidewalk, for context. We had just come from Barry's, so I had a boxed water with me, and, not long after we sat down and my friends ordered, the assistant manager(?) came up to me smiling and SO condescendingly asked if I thought my water was better than theirs...excuse me? He then proceeded to tell me I had to either chug it and give him the box or I could keep it on the floor...aka the sidewalk...but that I couldn't keep it on the table...we all thought he was joking, but alas, he was not. In fact, my blood is boiling writing this review, and this happened a month ago! Then, for the piece de la resistance, my friend ordered the omelette, and on her second bite, she pulled out a full piece of plastic- the circular plastic piece that you use to pull off a milk carton or *cough cough* a carton of eggs. She immediately lost her appetite and didn't ask for a replacement but that it would just be removed from the bill. They weren't shocked or apologetic, AND they forgot to remove it from the bill. Don't waste your time or money here- you can eat plastic and bugs in your food while drinking your water from the sidewalk elsewhere.
This place refused us service when we said we weren't going
This place refused us service when we said we weren't going to drink. We were underaged and they just wanted us to buy drinks and when we said we weren't they didn't seat us and charged us $300 even though they canceled on me. This is illegal and Pierre should be punished. Shame.
Overpriced……slow service but polite….food just acceptable…just average…but with a big bill‼️‼️❓
Overpriced…slow service…average food……don’t ask for recommendations as they charge top prices for mediocre products. I mentioned that the inexpensive champagne by the glass was charged at a super high price considering it’s quality…he couldn’t explain why and couldn’t care less. Don’t give them a credit card for a reservation there are other restaurants that will meet your needs…and you can choose. Always ask the price of recommendations.
I recently had a reservation for a party of 4 at Pierre's.
Unfortunately, I had to cancel due to someone in my party testing positive for covid. Due to the fact that we were all near this person the days prior, we decided it was best to cancel the reservation in an effort to not expose the restaurant staff and other guests. I called the restaurant the morning of and then emailed Pierre himself - he emailed me back the cancellation policy which states if you have a doctors note regarding covid, you will not be charged for cancelling. When I told him I had that, he completely stopped responding. Because of wanting to protect Pierre's staff and guests, I was charged $200 for deciding to cancel this reservation. I have a been a frequent customer here for many years and will not return. It says a lot about a business that cares more about a party of 4 than the health and safety of its staff and customers. Super disappointing. There are many more accommodating restaurants close-by that I will give my business to instead of Pierre's.
I used to love this restaurant until Pierre began to
I used to love this restaurant until Pierre began to believe he could have attitude and charge as if he were Guy Savoy.
Horrible Experience
While the food is OK (only OK) the service is TERRIBLE. Rude staff; rude owner. No interest in pleasing the customers. Very expensive. Our bill for 4 came to $800.00 plus. Skip this restaurant like the plague unless you enjoy being treated like you are intruding on their stiff stuffy attitude. Among other things expensive wine was poured sloppily; while clearing the table (before everyone was finished!), bits of food fell from the plates into the wine glasses; no substitutions even if you are allergic to a side dish. Very hurried and uncomfortable. And do not even think of talking to the restaurant owner who is possibly the most obnoxious egotistic self-admiring person in the industry and for absolutely no good reason.
Arrogant Owner/Unpleasant Experience
The owner, Pierre (the guy for whom the restaurant is named), is fundamentally an unpleasant individual who makes dining here a very unpleasant experience for his customers. I have a been a customer year in and year out for 22 years and he still does not remember me and makes people feel like they are there to do him a favor. The most recent example of his off-putting behavior: I had just bought three expensive croissants this morning ($6.00 each x 3 = $18.00) from his own "Pierre" next door cafe this morning and sat at one of his tables outside. I was drinking a coffee I had bought somewhere else. He came up to me and - because I had not bought the coffee from him - wanted to kick me out despite the fact I had just spent $18 on his three overpriced croissants...and on top of that he didn't even recognize me as a regular customer after 22 years of patronage. His arrogance is boundless and has no limits. I WILL NEVER DINE NOR SHOP THERE AGAIN.
Fave restaurant in Bridgehampton.
Lovely energy! Our first time at Pierre’s. The croque madame was incredible as was the mango salad. Cute tables outside but we preferred inside seating. Need to come in for dinner now!

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
