Came to this tech-infused mini golf place with my friends
Came to this tech-infused mini golf place with my friends on a Saturday night. We made reservations a couple of days before so we just had to check in at the entrance. It's costs $18 for a 9 hole course and each ball is linked with your personalized game profile. They have a bar and their mini golf courses have tables to place drinks at each hole. The game lasts for about 30 min to 1hr depending on the group size and crowd. Overall we had fun and I'd definitely come back!
Be the first to ReplyMy wife and I decided to do this for a date day.
We're an interracial couple. Lady at the bar was either having a bad day or was racist. She served two white guys behind us when we was clearly there first. We also sat down at a table and waiters ignored us as well. if you're poc or interracial couple/family, be warned.
Be the first to ReplyBack to the Future Part II was released in 1989.
When I was younger, I loved to see Robert Zemeckis's vision for what the future could look like 26 years later. Alas, we do not have a self-drying jacket, but the technology here is arguably over and above what he could have imagined. This is some of the most technologically advanced mini-golf I have ever seen! The system tracks how many times you've hit the ball, and displays it on the screen above. They also make it fun by adding hazards and bonuses which can help or hurt your score in addition to how many strokes it took to get the ball in the cup. For example: all holes have a green tunnel which gives you a hole in one plus a bonus. For hazards, one of the hole is a true or false game. If you guess incorrectly, you lose points. I love this spin to keep things interesting! The nine holes in a course are also unique and creative in their own ways, each with its specific challenge! There is one with drums, one with ducks, and one of the courses even has a skatepark-like element. However, this is related to one of my critiques. There are three courses, Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald IIRC. When booking, there is no option to select your course - I went back and checked. I had the opportunity to play on two of these, and some of the holes were the same (such as true or false), and some were different (the skatepark one, for example). While I can understand the reasoning behind this, some ability to choose would be nice, for I want to try Emerald, and haven't yet. Considering the location and the experience, especially with everything that goes into it, I feel that the prices are reasonable, especially if you get the second game at 1/2 price!

Came to just dine in not knowing it was an indoor activity/arcade kinda spot! Food was yummy, vibes were great, and service was excellent! We were a fairly large group of 10+ people but they accommodated us very well.
Be the first to ReplyCame here with coworkers for some midday competitive fun.
Puttshack is one of many indoor activity places that have been popping up in Seaport. There is complimentary coat check-in at the bottom, and the courses/bar are upstairs. There are courses on either side, and both are quite small. Each level in the course has a TV screen that tells you what to do, whose turn it is, and the current score. After everyone in your group goes, you move onto the next level, and another group will advance to where you were previously. So basically, the entire course is shared but you move as a group. Overall, I had fun, but you pretty much finish within 30 minutes, and it's not something that varies each time you play. However, you could always chill at the bar afterward, as there are tables in the center.
Be the first to ReplyGreat place for drinks, food and entertainment.
Coats are taken care at the front. I would recommend Puttschack
Be the first to ReplyI was seventh-wheeling here with some friends recently.
We order one round of drinks, all beers. It takes about a half hour for them to come out. The waitress then asks, "are you ready to order food?". Like no, I need more time, and besides my buddy Tom flipped all the menus (they're card-stock bound to a wooden board with four screws (one at each corner)) and since we had so much time, he undid all the screws, flipped the menu itself, and and redid all the screws, so we're just looking at blank paper. I don't even know what's ON the menu at this point. It took at least 20 minutes to do that so I know we'll need a while to undo at least one and then pass that menu around to everyone to individually read it and decide what they want. My other buddy Max beat me at golf, would give five stars otherwise.

Puttshack is such a unique and fun experience in Boston! Great for an event, a fun night with friends, or a date spot. The mini golf is very gamified and they track the balls and scores on a screen, which makes the golf fun and easy. The drinks are delicious as well!

The waiter at the Puttshack restaurant was incredibly rude to us after we decided to go elsewhere to eat due to my daughter's food allergies. When we explained that she did not one the one item that their kitchen was willing to make for her, he rudely stared at us before walking away. On the way out he was loudly complaining about us to one of his coworkers, shaming my teenage daughter and making us very uncomfortable. So disappointing in this day and age as a peanut allergy is not a new phenomenon. We will never go back.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the bartenders here treated me horribly.
Not sure of his name but he had a beard and hand tattoos. When I gave him my ID, he turned it over a bunch and bent it. He quizzed me on my birthday. He then told me my ID was illegal. My ID is not illegal. I have a Michigan ID because I just moved here from Michigan. I am 24 years old and have bought drinks all over the country without an issue like this. Sorry you have never been outside the city of Boston and don't know how other IDs from other states look. He stared me down and was really rude to me. He didn't even remember my order and acted like I was bothering him after grilling me and bending my ID. I just wanted one drink to enjoy the night and he really put me in a sour mood to start mini golfing. I don't know if he gets off on verbally abusing people and wasting people's time, or if he's just an idiot. Either way he ruined my time there.
Be the first to ReplyGo for the golf, skip the food.
Don't overthink it and take it for what it is - indoor mini golf. There are 4 courses in total, each with 9 holes. Each round of 9 goes pretty fast, so consider signing up for 2 rounds. You do not get to choose which course you play, but they are all pretty comparable. Every time I have gone here it has been insanely crowded, so expect that going into it. The courses are compact and jammed into small spaces. There is not a lot of standing room between holes and expect to wait for the group(s) in front of you. Make sure to order a drink before you even start playing. Drink service along the course was spotty. Great the first time we went but non-existent the second time. In general the place is chaos with no one really guiding you along, so you need to pay attention and figure things out for yourself in terms of check-in and play. There is no where along the courses to store coats/bags, so make sure to utilize coat check before you go to your course. I think because it is so compact, it would be a much better experience if children were not permitted. Too crazy and it seems like they are catering to adults here with multiple bars, so there really should be an age limit. Ample public parking available in the same building or 2 garages right across on Autumn. Overall a fun activity for a small group, which you could follow up with dinner at one of the many great restaurants in the Seaport.
Be the first to ReplyIntentionally allowing overbooking of courses and
Intentionally allowing overbooking of courses and restaurants may drive profits short-term, but customer service will fail and foot traffic will diminish. We booked a 12:40pm tee off, that stated after 1:30. When we were finally sat for lunch, our server had two tables-- 15 and 18 guests. In other words, he was slammed and then given a two-top and expected to serve us well. A well -run restaurant would never allow their servers and customers to be treated this way. Short staffing cuts corners, but always results in poor performance. It is highly unlikely that we will ever return to this location. There are better ways to spend a Saturday. (By the way, we landed with a very nice server after asking to be re-sat.)
Be the first to ReplyWhat a disaster.
.. went in the winter and the coat check was closed so we had to carry our coats, bags, and drinks while playing. We had to wait in line to start for about 30-45 minutes. There were so many people in line that even waiting for the holes was at least 10 minutes in between. We felt like we had to rush the holes because there were people waiting in a line behind us. The ball's scoring tracker broke for the guy in front of us-- took them about 20 minutes to fix it so we all had to wait behind that hole. Also there's barely any space between the holes so it was super cramped and hot. The pictures made it seem like a large course with tons of fun light up stuff and unique hole designs. In reality, the course is very small and there's only 3-4 unique hole designs with the fun photo worthy styles. I was super disappointed in this experience for the price and what was promised. It was awkward and uncomfortable.
Be the first to ReplyA refreshing addition to Boston's seaport.
If you're looking for a mini golf bar with class and character, look no further than puttshacl. The selection of drinks is top-notch and the gourmet food menu is sure to please even the most discerning palates. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they go out of their way to make sure you have a great time. The decor is also worth mentioning - it's chic and upscale without being pretentious. Overall, it is the perfect place to enjoy a few rounds of mini golf with friends.

The staff is absolutely amazing but the place is absolutely atrocious. Ive gone to this place twice and both times it has failed me. It doesnt take the score of multiple people in the party and ruins the entire vibe. We wish so badly that it would just take down all of put scores but no matter how many times we would put our balls down it couldnt register the player. We are truly upset with this outcome. It was my best friends birthday and the score was not computing causing for an incomplete score and a ruined birthday party. We are truly upset. May not come back unless many problems are solved.
Be the first to ReplyI'm shocked the reviews for this place are so low.
We went for Valentine's day and had an absolute blast. Things worked as smoothly as you could hope for a relatively new establishment with 100s of people walking through. Reserving online was pretty simple - albeit not too explanatory but I'm not sure I was bothered by that. It was easy and sometimes that's what this world needs.Upon arrival, we were offered coat check at the bottom of the stairs, walked up to the host stand who walked us through how to start our game, and when that was over we meandered back to the host stand who sat us for our reserved meal. The food was super creative and tasty and there were more than enough drinks to pick from so you really can't complain about variety or quality. After eating we wanted to play again and the host stand helped us figure out how to do that, too. We did have to ask a few questions because the space can be a bit confusing but speaking up is all one needs to do to have an A+ experience! :)
Be the first to ReplyI was really excited to go.
However, quickly realized it was overhyped. I get the newness of it, so I'm sure the business will flourish as time goes on. Overall, the golf experience was fun. I just went with one other person, so it went by quickly. The best costumer service of the night was probably the ladies at the coat room. They were kind and friendly. On the other hand, the hosts downstairs weren't so warm and welcoming, and really didn't make the experience fun. They just seemed judgmental and were bothered by us asking questions of how the system worked. We were going to get food after but because it was an open lay out we didn't know if it were a seat yourself or wait to be seated. No one came to check on us until the kitchen wasn't going to serve downstairs anymore. It would of been nice to know. Even if someone was like hey I'm sorry we haven't come over, but it is a wait to be seated service. It kind of put a bad taste in my mouth, so we quickly left. All in all, this is my experience and opinion, but wouldn't deter someone away if they wanted to check it out for themselves.
Be the first to ReplyPuttshack is a great way to have fun in rainy or snowy days.
This place is suitable for both adults and kids group. They have a clothing hang area so don't hesitate to give it to them (it's free) and have fun. Aware that they have hours to reserve coats/jackets. I went there in the morning and they have that but they close in the afternoon.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic place.
Javier at the bar is superb. Great experience, but the tech was glitchy at times and needs to be improved so that we don't waste time waiting around. Definitely coming back!
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance is cool and dim.
It has two floors to check in. It also has a place for you to pay to put your coats. The bathrooms are a cool experience and selfie worthy. I don't know if you can make reservations to gulf but if you can do it there is a long wait time especially on the weekend. It's easy to get to by public transportation. I went on the weekend and it took us a long time to get our order taken... But when we did get it.... It was superb customer service by waiter Oliver. The Hennessy Island cocktail was great! The food was awesome. Great vibes overall. It was calm entertaining and mature.

We had the best of both worlds here because we golfed and got to eat/have drinks. The mini golf itself was soooo fun! Such a cool place. Never been to such a unique indoor golf place and I've been to a bunch. There were a lot of holes I've never seen anywhere else. It was a little slow moving but we were enjoying ourselves so we didn't mind. The drinks were very fun too! I could tell this place must be busy at night... The food was pretty good. Nothing mind blowing but tasty! We just got apps to share and then the deep dish cookie which I wasn't a fan of. It had sooo much salt in it i don't know if it was accidental or on purpose but I couldn't even eat it. It's not even like it was sweet so the salt complimented it - it just tasted like salt. The ice cream on it was amazing though! Other than that, had a great time. Will be back!
