Quo Vadis' ambiance was articulately and elegantly handled! The idea was creative, and the meal was nicely prepared and had intriguing flavors. The menu is constantly changing and offers some fantastic traditional British cuisine, so you'll never get bored.
Be the first to ReplyJigsaw puzzles.
You open the box, dump all the pieces out onto the table, and your initial impression is typically, "Huh? Do these pieces in any way match the puzzle that I THOUGHT that I bought?" Well it sure felt that way when gazing at the "Quo Vadis"menu tonight.Me: "Pardon me. Is there any way that we could get a menu printed in English?"Server: "Sir, your menu has been printed in English."Me: "Oh."So where exactly do you go from there? Well we thought it best to have an honest chat with our server (and once we utilized our decoder rings) we felt pretty good about our choices. That is, until our meals arrived. After that we felt GREAT about our choices. I spied an unknown substance on my plate, so those of you who know me (and my sensitive stomach), will be pleased to know that I shared that mysterious substance with another Review Team Member for evaluation. After that person sampled the entirety of that generous portion, I was soon informed that the "unknown substance" was, in fact, horseradish. Having no known allergic reactions to that flavor party, I heaped an equally large portion onto my first bite of steak and soon discovered what a series of fireworks being set off within your nostrils must feel like. Restraint might dictate that we call it a night with the thunder sauce, but this was not destined to be regarded as a night of restraint. (Note to self: Be sure to cancel that upcoming ENT appointment. All recent issues have seemingly been resolved; and bonus, I think I can see dead people now. )Near the conclusion of our meal a near tug o' war occurred over the plates with which our meals arrived and the inevitable question was asked, "Look, if you're gonna keep licking your plates, just know that we're gonna eventually need those back, ok?"And that's...Henry's Take. #londongreatfoodiscalling
Be the first to ReplyNice French/English fusion in SoHo.
The restaurant has a nice, quaint feel to it. We ordered wine dmd cocktails. The old fashioned they made for me was very nice. The food was very decent. Started with the wild duck which was fine. I had the pie of the day which was a veal/pork/rabbit pie and was good. The mash that came with it was nice, buttery, and well seasoned. My gf had the chicken and that was very nice as well. For dessert, the table split the profiteroles which were good but a bit hard to eat with the ice cream.Good place. Would repeat.
Be the first to Replytwo words: eel sandwich.
this place has a very clean, contemporary ambiance that felt very cozy. every thing we ordered was good, but the smoked eel sandwich was transcendental. I could easily come here and order 4 of those and eat them all myself. the portion of the eel sandwich is pretty small (really, just a couple bites), but the flavors were perfectly blended yet very distinct.
Be the first to ReplyReally good english breakfast in a quiet restaurant.
We went there on 10am and it was empty so we enjoyed the restaurant all to ourselves. Good food, nice service and absolutely overwhelming bathrooms. Not too many items on the menu but it was very good!

Lovely ambience, beautifully designed menu, delicious food, gorgeous wine, great old fashions, top service and a cosy fire place to sit around after your meal. What more can you ask for?
Be the first to ReplyRecommended by the hotel concierge and was not disappointed.
If you are a foodie, definitely worth checking out but definitely reserve in advance. The smoked eel sandwich appetizer which I know sounds weird but was terrific. Staff was friendly and attentive. A great dinner
Be the first to ReplyStopped by for a quick breakfast before a meeting.
Looks lovely inside and the staff were nice. I was the only table there and thought I would keep it simple by having scrambled egg on toast. I then had to wait 25 minutes for it to come out. Not sure what the delay was. It also tasted funny and I had to coat it in black pepper to give it some flavour. May be a bad day but not sure if I would come back. (Visit - 17/07/2015 Breakfast)

Fancy environment and food was also great. I had a beef (see the picture) and it was really good. A friend had the duck and another one had the pork cheeks, everyone was very satisfied with their orders. I recommend it.
Be the first to ReplyAppears to be hugely over-rated.
Very average starter and main course, only partly compensated for by a strong pudding - a good variation on Eton Mess. Service was extremely slow and the wine expensive, if decent enough.
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot in the theatre district.
We chose the theatre menu with 2 courses for 17.50. The roasted pork with root vegetables was just delicious, served with a spoon for all the broth. I had a lovely pear trifle for dessert. Funny, helpful staff. A really perfect experience. And WIFI! I'll be back.

The service was good food was over priced and poorly prepared. The smoked headlock salad was oily and the dish over seared The pork belly was left with rib bones and cartlidge certainly not the most thoughtful preparation. With so many places in Soho to eat I was left disappointed I did not keep going when I passed the front door
