Amazing
The food is outstanding and the lovely passionate service cannot be faulted The whole experience from start to finish you cannot fault The option to add the drinks package is the way to go as you get to try some drinks you would never order.

Here for the second time yes food is great just noticed though this is an 8 seat bar resturant first time only 5 customers tonight an extra seat squeezed in, ok not an issue except, each pairing drink is now divided by 9 not 8 or indeed 5 as in my first trip. I was at the end of the bar and each pour I was the dregs. Listen up staff you can’t do hand pours out of one bottle of wine and make them even, some of my drinks were 50 mls or less. Wise up if you jam in extra customers please do so but don’t give them my drinks.

Fresh sashimi salmon, smoked for a couple of minutes, melts in your mouth. Watching Raita & Moma prepare it was magical theatre. Delicious soup served from a teapot

Not enough superlatives to praise Raita Noda; only a small restaurant of 8 seats and best enjoyed as a couple than as a group - difficult to talk to others as you are focussed on a master chef delivering the most amazing quality and fresh food and at the same time discussing the food with you. Having said that, you finish up making new friends as you also tend to chat to your neighbours who are similarly passionate foodies.
It's probably best that he only has 7 or 8 seats as such quality is difficult to source in Australia with our best seafood heading off overseas - fortunately, he offers the group
an option of a wagyu dish that would normally only be found in the best Japanese restaurants. Wagyu and marbling that I have never enjoyed before - now I know why people rave about it so much.
Every course is special but even the soft shell crab taco was like nothing I've had before.
So rare to have such quality anywhere in the world prepared by such a master.
In Australian terms, some say it is expensive but an Omakase experience like this in Japan or New York would be many times the cost.
A Deliciously Amazing Experience
This restaurant has the Wow factor.
The service is a one on one delightful journey. Learning about where it has come from and how it has been made.
The food is sublime. Incredibly delicious and sake and wines yum.
A great spoil for your loved one or ones.
Most Enjoyable
Truly amazing how Mr Raita and his son Momo can create such amazing food in such a confined space. Ten seat restaurant and hence you get a first row seat with the chefs.
Patagonian toothfish was OTT so good.
Highly recommended.

This is just a special, special place. It’s going to have to be the Big Night Out at $150 a head and at least $90 for the wine... but , trust me, you won’t really regret doing it and you’ll look forward to the next time. I’d go anytime anybody asked. And there isn’t many places around here about which I’d say that. Just... epically good.

Recent extravaganza at Raita Noda, sitting across from chef and his assistant immersing oneself in the theatre of the kitchen. Like being taken back to Tokyo where places like this abound! Three hours of being fed, with a constant explosion of flavours in the mouth.matching wines and sakes complement the food. This is a must experience for the lover of Japanese food!

This place is heaven. I took my boyfriend here last night as a birthday surprise. The food was exquisite. I cannot fault it. This meal changed my life! We've eaten a fair bit of sashimi around Sydney as my boyfriend loves it - before last night I would've said I could take it or leave it, and really only ate it because I know it's good for me and I appreciate the artistry - this is no longer the case! I loved every mouthful!!! 100x better, fresher, and more melt-in-the-mouth and flavourful than any other I've tried. We chose the drinks pairing option and every drink was also delicious and perfectly paired with each dish. This was a real experience. Watching it all was so fun and the two chefs were also excellent hosts. Service was impeccable. I told them it was his birthday surprise when I made the booking 4 months ago and his dessert arrived decorated with 'Happy Birthday Steve' and a sparkler, and they remembered to present the bill to me at the end. Very impressive. I have a brain full of happy memories and a lingering feeling of deep satisfaction and sensuous joy! This is honestly a bargain considering the restaurant one seats 8 people! Which of course adds to the feeling that you're somewhere very special indeed. No photos I'm afraid - we were fully immersed in enjoying ourselves and didn't even think about it! How often can you say that.
Be the first to ReplyA very special Japanese restaurant
A very special restaurant, with the best produce, prepared in front of you by a master chef, who involves you and talks to you as he prepares and cooks.
It's probably best that he only has 7 or 8 seats as such quality is difficult to source in Australia with our best seafood heading off overseas but best experienced as a couple rather than as a group.
While some people go as groups for the experience, it is quite difficult to converse as a group with the seats all on the same side of the counter, i.e no-one faces each other.
For best enjoyment, just go as a couple and savour every moment, rare to have such quality anywhere in the world prepared by such a master.

Unforgettable AMAZING Experience
The care and talent of Chef Raita Noda is mesmerising to witness. I'm humbled to be served by him and the staff. The seating is intimate along the bar of 8 people. I love every min of it. It's degustation hence if you couldn't sit through a long seating. it's not a place for you. Otherwise, everything's EXQUISITE. Thank you.
