Reposado Palo Alto Reviews from The Last Year
The prices for the food is not worth it! The portions seem
The prices for the food is not worth it! The portions seem smaller every time I go back. A plate that used to come with tortillas no longer comes with them it's extra now.
Went here for a team dinner on a Tuesday at 4pm.
I have been here before but always at traditional dinner time and it's loud. It was nice to have a quiet dinner. The place itself is beautiful, lots of windows and a large bar in the center. Service was great, we had the guacamole which came with chips and 3 different types of salsa. I didn't think any of the salsas was spicy but I love spicy food and my tolerance is higher than most people. We also ordered the ceviche, it was ok. I had a glass of prosecco and my co worker had a beer. The wine, beer and liquor selection is quite good. For dinner I ordered the chicken mole and my friends had salads. The portions were good, I took half of my chicken home. The vegetables that came with the chicken were a bit too greasy. Service was the highlight of the evening. My phone was dying and I asked if I could charge it somewhere, I had the cords but they offered me a power bank! That's being prepared! I would go back again!
I came here on a whim after looking at the yelp reviews.
I could not have been more happy with my experience. We were able to make a reservation just a few hours in advance. Everyone that we spoke with over the phone and in the restaurant was very kind. When we walked in the restaurant had a very fun vibe. We liked that the big garage style doors were open, allowing lots of air and light from the outside. Where this place really shined was the food. Absolutely every bite that we had was delicious. Everyone at our table ordered something different and we were able to share a few bites. This place knocks it out of the park when it comes to food quality and taste across all menu options. We didn't have dessert here. I'm sure the dessert is equally as delicious. I would not hesitate to come back here in the future.
Woo weeee these drinks are string.
We came here for a happy hour post dinner while we waited for some friends. Their happy hour menus is from 4 - 6pm with specials on their ceviche, shrimp empanadas, and a few other items. Given it was Mexican restaurant we ended up ordering. Their Mescal prickly pear marg and a guava marg and they were refreshing. The view wasn't amazing given we looked out to the street but the food and the ambiance during happy hour was nice. Not too quiet but not screaming loud either. We had the shrimp empanadas (a must try) , the guacamole, and the ceviche with our drinks. Everything was good but the empanadas stole the show! For a quick and delish happy hour, I would fondly come here again. Service was fast and friendly
The best I can say about this place is "It's not bad"
The best I can say about this place is "It's not bad" however nothing really stood out for me taste wise or service wise. The ambiance is good The tall ceiling with ambient light feels nice. I was here to celebrate a friend's birthday and maybe that made it special and worth 3 stars. Vegetarian options are available and Chile Poblano was good. Drinks options are plenty however the one I ordered, Lemon Drop cocktail tasted like basic, too sweet lemonade. Honestly, I would have been okay with the quantity, quality, and the slow service if it was not this expensive.
I'm OBSESSED with mole, and nowhere, from Mexico to here
I'm OBSESSED with mole, and nowhere, from Mexico to here and everywhere in between, have I ever tasted mole that made me weep. No joke. Bawling like a fool. We got six dishes and each one a slam dunk, home run, touchdown ... just beyond. The mole here was their chicken enchiladas and man oh man--slightly salty, bitter, tangy deep earthy flavors with the perfect amount of spice. Soooo damn good access robust, as if each bite had a story to tell. The tortilla soft and pliable with shredded chicken and plain rice on the side because the mole needed to be the star of the show. The plantain chips long strips not greasy but beautifully crunchy fried and an aioli to die for--creamy with slight kick. Their vegetables truly were fire roasted, crunchy carrots and squash, zucchini's. The Caesar salad with a cilantro vinegar based cream dressing prints seeds and cheese hit the spot, beautifully rendered the classic. The corn on the Cobb was an absolute artistic vision--charred at the edges with lime and queso fresco. The seafood crepe with rice, freshest seafood with snapper (grilled) and shrimp golden brown and a tomatillo based sauce. The guava cheesecake a bit too dense for my taste but my husband devoured it. Their chipotle spicy mocha coffee was literal fire in my throat and my husband couldn't drink it either. They kindly took it off the bill. The interior is a two story stunning wonder, gorgeous burnished wood tables and intimate booths--bottles upon bottles of glittering tequila, for which their namesake, are famous for. The service was phenomenal and friendly, efficient. These folks behind the stove are at the top of their cooking game and not phoning it it. They're not producing fuel or food, they're creating visions of mastery and edible art. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality of ingredients and techniques. Wow wow wow I'm speechless, sooooo freakin good, one of the best restaurants in Palo Alto if not the entree Peninsula and Bay Area. I can't wait to go back!
Four stars for the food.
Five stars for the service! Everyone was welcoming and super accommodating, but Thais was literally one of the best servers I've ever had. I started with the Aguachile while I waited for my friend to arrive, it was fantastic! super fresh, the avocado was perfectly ripe and the plantain chips were so crispy! Next we had the Guacamole, again fantastic, it also came with three salsas, altho i could do without the artificially red chips. I had a couple Cadillac Margaritas, my friend had a La Paloma, next time i'll go with mezcal and try the Prickly Pear. I was starving so i had the Burata y Tomate while we waited for our mains, it was also VERY good, the little crostini chips, and the kumato tomatoes were perfect, my little italian heart was so satisfied. My friend had the Yucatan, and described the salmon as AMAZING, it looked perfectly cooked and well paired with the beans and "salad." I went with the Cochinita Pibil with tortillas on the side, it was delicious, the side of creamy cheesey rice with little peppers was also good, altho the pork and the rice did seem slightly disconnected as a plate. Lastly we had the Passionfruit Creme Brûlée, as good as it was, I was expecting it to be slightly more fruit forward, the passionfruit kindof lazily lingered at the end of the bite and never really showed itself fully. We were sat by the window which was good for people watching and also made for a quieter experience. Will absolutely be back.
Brought my mom here while she was visiting from out of town
Brought my mom here while she was visiting from out of town and we were blown away! The food is SO delicious and every detail of the presentation is on point. We even caved and got dessert - no regrets, SO good!! I was moved to post a review to make sure everyone knows they're open for LUNCH now!! I think this place was open for lunch ages ago, but definitely not since the pandemic. At dinner there's usually a long wait if you don't have a reservation, but at lunch we waltzed right in. It felt like cheating :-D
Had a wonderful Cinco de Mayo Eve dinner at Reposado.
It was packed for a Saturday night so make sure to make reservations (lucky enough to secure it on the same day via OpenTable). A good amount of margaritas and cocktails to choose from. Enjoyed their beef brisket tacos and rock shrimp enchilada mole specials along with some aguachile. Try it out and it will not disappoint as long as you go in with the mindset that this is a Fine Mexican dining place and not your average taqueria or cantina, you'll be fine as the place is pricey with small portions but worth it. Service was prompt.
Food was good, but not worth the price and the service was
Food was good, but not worth the price and the service was terrible, this is the typical place you need to be on the look for a server, trying to make eye contact or even raise your hand. Overall the ambience is good, but def better MX places out there
Insanely overpriced and bad food
The steak appetizer I had was extremely spicy (it doesn't even say on the menu and staff didn't tell), and was cold and was tasteless. The service was also very slow.
