Ristorante TOSCA Washington Reviews from The Last Year
Fantastic food and excellent service.
Our server, Julie, recommended the Agnolotti del Plin and it was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever eaten. The chocolate dessert, which l am not going to even try to spell, was out of this world delicious. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary and Julie and the manager contributed to helping make it truly special for us.
Terrible.
I had a starter and the Branzino. Spent $100 total. The plates were so tiny that I had to go and get myself some food after right after having lunch.

Went to Tosca last night prior to seeing Little Shop of Horrors at Ford's Theater, and it was a treat. The service was exceptional - excellent recommendations re. the appetizers, specials, and wine pairing. My wife and I ended up getting three of the specials (2 appetizers and 1 entree). The food was all superb, and the seafood was amongst the best I've had. Definitely a place to go for special occasions, but I'm thrilled to have gone and look forward to my next visit.
Came here to celebrate for dinner.
Started off with their famous Focaccia Bread, Scallop, and Grilled Octopus. Every single appetizer was amazing! For our entrees we got the Seafood Risotto and Steak. Steak was decent, but the risotto was the star of the show. Surprisingly large portion with lots of seafood. For dessert I got the Tiramisu which looked amazing, but tasted alright. The service was great and very on top of things. While somewhat close to other tables, the vibes were still great. Overall a great dining experience for a special occasion.
Incredible consistency after all these years.
Tosca has some of the best pasta in Washington (the agnolotti del plin is legend), my favorite tuna tartar and the best veal chop I've ever had. Service is very professional and the wine program is strong. Weekdays see a mostly business crowd, lobbyists and lawmakers. Weekends however tend to get a bit overrun by tourists in sweats.

On a business trip and definitely a unique experience! Our local host coordinated with several of her friends from college and this was our third leg of a great three nights of fantastic dining! She negotiated with the restaurant to score us a late reservation at 6:00 and got us in! The restaurant was a really fun experience and the inside of the restaurant was very comfortable. On with the food. I opted to skip the appetizers but my fellow guests sampled the list but I did try a piece of the focaccia basket. Very soft bread with a nice shell. The flavors were something else as the tomatoes baked in the bread and the fresh herbs just made it something so special. Others tried the tartare and the prosciutto dish. For my dinner, I wrestled with so many great choices - my table ordered the veal chops and I went with the Tagliata di Manzo! It was incredible and cooked perfectly. The mushroom and flavor of the meat with the two purées made it pop. The meat was so tender and packed with flavor. I again skipped desserts but the table raved about the tiramisu... until my next trip to DC!

I really enjoyed every aspect of this place! The service was amazing. Our server gave us his own personal recommendations and was very attentive with us. Our waters were never empty. The food was amazing. I ordered the gargantelli, prosciutto and tiramisu. Gargantelli pasta was soo good. Highly recommend it. The prosciutto was a little underwhelming. I didn't think it was the best. It was my least favorite thing I got. Tiramisu was delicious! I really enjoyed the portion sizes. I usually get full after the main course, but I was able to order a dessert and not feel too full after. The ambiance was pretty as well. Great dinner vibes.
Enjoyed dinner here on a Tuesday night.
It's a pretty big place with a lot of tables but I would still recommend s reservation.

One of the nicer Italian restaurants in the city that I have had the opportunity to dine at. Disclaimer: we visited around xmas so there was a pre-fix menu that included a few courses.

We had our anniversary dinner here and they started us out with complimentary champagne! We had the chef recommend four course meal...it might have been the best meal we have had since visiting ITALY!
Really wonderful food here.
Pretty and classic Italian restaurant with a waiter who was straight from Italy. The home made focaccia was delicious. As was the beet salad. The cavatelli was perfectly done with vegetables and cheese. Really delicious. Don't forget the cappuccino.

From the minute we walked in, to the second we left, the service was impeccable. The food is definitely the best Italian in the DMV, with great quality ingredients. Definitely a special place for a special occasion as it's not cheap, but also worth every penny.
Brian was an amazing server.
The food was amazing. The atmosphere was just what I wanted. Quiet, upscale, nice. We had the focaccia and prosciutto for our appetizer, the seafood pasta special, octopus, and lamb for our entrees, and pistachio, chocolate, and cheesecake for dessert. The food was presented beautifully and the flavors were on point. Highly recommend this place.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
