Nice Breakfast/Brunch Spot
We enjoyed breakfast/brunch here each morning as part of our stay package at the Hotel Del. Service was excellent and food was good. The Lobster Benedict I had the first morning was a treat, and loved the cucumber salad they served on the plates. The second morning we ordered the Cruffin which was on a completely different menu than the day before (weekday vs weekend?) Interesting is how I would describe it, like a popover. It was good, but just to taste it and move on.

Be the first to ReplyVery Good Dinner
We went for a nice family dinner while on vacation. Parking was a mess around the hotel, glad we planned extra time to make our reservation. Our table was ready when we got there & we were seated promptly. We had a very good waitstaff, attentive without being overbearing. We got a couple appetizers & drinks. Our waiter even told a story about eating octopus & convinced our older daughter to try it! Our main courses were very good. We asked for the lamb & the filet to be medium (but they looked a little closer to medium rare). Still had nice texture & excellent presentation. The filet could have used a little more seasoning (salt & pepper) to bring out the flavor a little more. The chicken was very flavorful & almost pull off the bone tender. Very good flavor for the lamb. The desserts were presented very well & tasty. Overall, great location, great staff, great presentation, delicious (if a little underwhelming) food. Pricey, but we’d go back again.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location and very good food
We went here for brunch while staying at The Del in Coronado. It was a mixed bag but with some minor improvements it could be great. The most important aspect is the food and thankfully Serea didn’t disappoint - both the food and drinks were delicious. The location and ambiance is also very very nice, right on the beach. The service was not so great - the wait was very long to get a table - in fact we walked around Coronado for over an hour until we could get in. Once we were seated, the waiting game continued! Wait for the server 15 minutes, wait for our drinks 15 minutes, wait for our food 30 minutes, wait wait and wait some more!! The server was nice but also extremely pushy and trying really hard to oversell. I can truly say I have never seen in my lifetime any server ever trying to convince patrons to order so much stuff and to upsell as much as the server at Serea - and it was uncomfortable and annoying. The last thing were the chairs and their stupid cushions. Come on Serea - you are charging $28 for Eggs Benny - you can’t afford better chairs and cushions?? These wooden chairs were so uncomfortable and the pillows which were supposed to be tied to the chair kept pushing through the gaps in the back of the chairs and falling on the ground. It was hilarious at first because it happened to every single guest and were picking each others pillows and handing it to the right person , trying to tie them back on , etc - but after waiting an eternity for the drinks and food the uncomfortable chairs really got to us. With a few small changes this could be such a great place to eat, but as it is now…not sure I’d visit again - the pressure from the servers is enough to keep me away

This is great for a special night out, it’s fairly expensive but the food was excellent, service very prompt and friendly. Clean and comfortable table on front patio with great view overlooking the beach and ocean. Great spot.
Be the first to ReplyExceptional Experience at the Hotel Del
While staying at the Hotel Del Coronado for our anniversary we booked a table at Seréa, the current reincarnation of the original Prince of Wales Grill and Ocean 1500. While nothing will be able to replace the iconic Prince of Wales Grill, Seréa was a delight and the staff and management were very attentive to our 40th anniversary. The restaurant has both outdoor and indoor dining, though with all the doors open, the indoor dining is almost outdoor. Having not eaten here before we enjoyed the new space and menu. We ended up sharing a number of small plates and the portions were large enough to be plenty for the two of us. Some of our preferences had been passed on to the manger, Chris, from the Concierge staff and cocktails and wine were ready for us. We dined on the Greek Salad, House Focaccia, Big Eye Tuna Crudo and Patatas Bravas, finishing off with a cappuccino and espresso. Sean, our server and Jonathan his assistant, were engaging and kept a trained eye on us, making this a wonderful anniversary dinner, thank you! Seréa is popular both with hotel guests and visitors, so reservations are important.
Be the first to ReplyThe most dreamy birthday dinner!
This is the PLACE TO GO if you are looking for a romantic date night or birthday celebration! Our server, Mark, was absolutely incredible. He took his time to explain every course to us. He was extremely knowledgeable and you could tell he loved his job so much we found out he had been there for 25 years and has seen three different restaurant concepts over the years. We loved his passion. The food was delicious and so are the drinks. The two hostesses were absolutely incredible and so so so genuine and sweet. We would come back just for the employees alone. Thank you for a great birthday dinner!

Outstanding service. Very accomodating for young children. Nice wine list. Kids enjoyed their meals as did the adults. Nice room with eye-catching art.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced and over-rated
I had high hopes for this restaurant. The location right off the beach was promising as was the seafood options. But I was disappointed. The menu is quite limited. The swordfish was good, but not outstanding. The restaurant allowed a large group of people to collect and mingle very close to our table for at least 20 minutes. It was very distracting and totally inappropriate. I will not return.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced and pretentious
Was there for appetizers and wine. The appetizers were completely overpriced and minuscule. Pretentious food and attitude from staff. Very clear that this place is more about presentation and location than the food itself.

Great place for dinner. The staff was very attentive and the food was amazing. We had the surf and turf special-cooked to perfection. Be sure to save room for desert or start with desert as they are as beautiful to look at as they are delicious. Wine by the beach at sunset topped the meal off.

Paradise!! The food is beyond, the service five-star and the view of ocean, beach and palm trees? You can't make this up!
Be the first to ReplyGo for the salad!
Decided to order one of the salads, and felt that this was enough for a light dinner. Especially if you wanted to try a dessert after. A nice touch would be to have had a bread order with not only my salad but with others who had ordered traditional entrees. Mixed drinks were excellent, as was the wine list.

Birthday meal for surprise 60th. What a lovely setting for an evening meal. We had a view of the ocean and the waiter was extremely helpful. He was also a very long standing employee and was there when they filmed the movie: 'The Stuntman' with Peter O Toole. Thus was one of my partners favorite movies and always wanted to go to the Hotel Coronado, so I combined both for a surprise. The food was delicious and we had a lovely experience.
Be the first to ReplyVery expensive and lack luster
The location is wonderful however the food was not at all as we expected. We ordered the oysters, a dozen west coast and we order oysters wherever we are in the world- they were fair. The calamari was okay but the most disappointing was the table side fish especially at the market price of 100.00.. it was plain and grilled elsewhere with some herbs but pretty unimpressive as far as taste. I’ve had much much better table side fish in Italy and France - even in Aspen , Colorado. The fish was fresh from Spain, we were assured; I think the price was for its flight over not for the effort and skill in preparation.

Alan our server was brilliant. He kept checking in with us and recommended 2 beautiful fish dishes. We had salmon and sword fish

Serea: We sat at the bar while we waited for our table and the bartender was very nice. The drinks were fine, but nothing worth raving about. Next we moved to our table, which was outside and we had a lovely view of the rest of the patio, it was a nice night. All and all it was OK. Our waiter was an older guy who talked a mile a minute with a rehearsed speach that was confusing and left us with a ton of questions, which he did not answer well. We ordered the octopus and the calamari to start. The octopus tasted great, but dang it was tough, the calamari was good. I convinced my husband to order the table side fish, because they carve it at the table. Butm that was not the case.... it has to be grilled, but we had ours fried and yadda yadda the waiter did not explain this. Also, he screwed up my side dish, which was fine, but a bit annoying, The fish was not great. I asked for salt, but it was pretty lack luster I don't know what I expected, but what we ordered wasn't it. After the waiter ordered my side dish he disappeared until he brought the check. The busboy or the runner took our coffee and dessert order and dessert was not great. We ordered the peanut butter chocolate torte, it was dry, not very sweet and the topping tasted stale, the coffee was cold so he brought me a cafe americano, which was much better. I was sorely disappointed. Bottomline I would not come back here for dinner ...because of food quality and service.

Excellent food with top class service. With sea views the location is perfect. The menu is varied and the cooking excellent. Best octopus I have had in the US. The fish was fresh and served perfectly cooked. The service was excellent. I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner
Be the first to ReplyGreat View and good breakfast
I ate breakfast at Serea and although I only ordered breakfast potatoes and sausage, it was very tasty. The service was awesome too. I never felt neglected.
My only complaint is that people walk their dogs and let their dogs relieve themselves on the little grass lawn that all the beachside restaurants at the Del surround. I'd love if they'd place a sign to deter this behavior. The last thing I wanted to see was a dog doing it's business while I was eating my breakfast. I literally gagged. I almost said something to the server, but there's nothing she could have done. Hopefully the powers at the Del see it and think about posting a sign.
Horrible Customer Service - DO NOT GO
This restaurant charged me 2X for my meal. Then they said it was not their issue and to take up with AMEX. I did, they disputed and yet again Serea sent not a bill with food /beverage items listed but a generic bill with no signature. So...let me get this straight from their point of view.... three women in our 50s ate $550 dollars worth of food total but of that $263 between 11:09 p.m and 12:05 am? wow! All three of us are tall and not remotely overweight. This restaurant are crooks. Also, Hilton's respoinse as the leaser of the property to Serea was abominable!! Hilton said, no our restaurant so not our problem. Well, Serea is on their website as one of the dining options for Hotel Del Coronado so not understanding this total lack of responsibility and ownership. HORRIBLE!!!!! #Serea #Hilton
Be the first to ReplySuperb service!!
The service was the best we've had! Every staff member, from the hostess to the waitstaff was excellent. Personable, helpful, and very knowledgeable!
Our waiter, Yousett, was nearly perfect! He made the evening a pure pleasure!
I rated Serea 5 stars because of the service. The food is quite expensive and we enjoyed some dishes more than others, but it was a fabulous experience!
We started at a beautiful table outside with a view, and when it started to rain, the waitstaff was extremely helpful in relocating us to a lovely table inside.
Thank you Yousett, and whoever the manager is of the restaurant is. This is a happy and very well-trained staff appropriate for a high-end restaurant.
A wonderful dinner
This is a great place for a quiet romantic dinner on a cool early fall evening. Get a booth since they face the beach. The food was wonderful as was the service. We had one fish flash fried and the other grilled as well as starters (seared broccoli and patatas bravas). Very well prepared and delicious. We would definitely go back.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth the price
We came for dinner and breakfast the next day. The staff was excellent, David for breakfast and Jesus for dinner. All the food was good, both the tuna and swordfish were very good, the snapper was just good. The greek salad and kabob were good starters.
For breakfast the eggs benedict were very good but the burrito was just okay.
The issue is the price, I don't mind paying for a meal, but the snapper was over $50 or $34 a pound. The greek salad was $18, I knew the prices before we went so I guess I shouldn't complain but the food and service while good wasn't up to the price. The views are great but when the sun starts to set it's right in your eyes with no shade. Again good food and great service, just don't think it was worth the price.
the worst: huge prices, miniscule portions
I literally drove to Taco Bell after because I was still hungry. like a 1.5 oz portion of the "big fish" which allegedly was 3 pounds for 4 people.
Agonizingly slow service.
Save your money and find the Taco Bell in Coronado.
Nice Ambiance
This was our first sit-down restaurant meal since Covid started and we enjoyed it very much. We had a table on the raised portion of the patio that still allowed us to see the water--the other tables' views around the outdoor bar area are blocked by construction fencing. We split the Little Gems salad, which is one of the best simple salads that we've had. My husband, who is vegan, had the pasta dish, which was just OK (kind of strange to have pasta and potatoes together--should have been more of other veggies to make it a better dish). I had the tuna, which was very good. The wine (a pinot from the Russian River valley) was terrific. Wait staff was great. All in all, a very nice experience.
