I had such an amazing dinner here.
It was very rainy, so we sat indoors, and it was comfortable and cozy. I had the sea bass wood grilled, and it was so perfectly cooked! It was also seasoned really well, and they de-bone it at the table for you! It was a big portion, so I definitely needed help finishing it :) I had the vegetarian paella for my side dish, and it was a little disappointing to me. My better half really liked it, but I was hoping for some crispy rice on the bottom. Dessert was amazing, though! I had the bougatsa a la mode, and it was so light and so flavorful. I've never had a dessert like that, and our server, Sean, really recommended it. I'm so glad he did! He was awesome and extremely friendly.

View: 5 StarsService: 5 StarsFood: 4 Stars This restaurant gives off quintessential California vibes. From the beautiful seaside location at the Hotel del Coronado to the casual beachy decor (dotted by ample heat lamps that dominate all outside dining in SoCal), Serea is one of those places that really does invoke instant relaxation. I love how the tables are spaced so nicely...you don't feel like you are on top of your neighboring diners. And the servers are so professional, but also very approachable and friendly. They live up to a high standard that accompanies the setting and the chef, but still keep the meal very comfortable. The food is special, and I did love the calamari appetizer and the filet mignon (especially the sauce on the steak), but honestly, I'd be happy just having cocktails at the bar at Serea. It's a restaurant and also a serene and happy feeling.

Serea came up short in many ways. Our server, although sweet and bubbly, needed more training or assistance. She was unfamiliar with opening and pouring wine- ok if this wasn't a high end restaurant. She brought out the wrong salads which she acknowledged but didn't offer to correct the correct salads- we didn't want to make a big deal about it but this wasn't handled appropriately. The food itself was overall average. Lamb was good, halibut ceviche was good, and the salmon sashimi was the smallest $24 plate I have ever seen.Overall, this was not a fine dining experience. The Del needs to up their game

We are from Las Vegas and love to visit San Diego for quick weekend trips. I thought Coronado would be the perfect place for me to propose to my girlfriend of 5.5 years. I made this dinner reservation on February 10th with the intention of proposing on the beach and then eating here at 6:15pm. Planning a proposal from out of town is stressful enough as it is, but imagine you receive an email from this restaurant at 3:13pm the day of your proposal saying that your reservation has been cancelled due to overbooking and weather. The only other option was to push back the reservation for more than 2 hours. I understand that you cannot control the weather, but overbooking should not be an issue and it didn't even seem to matter to them the inconvenience it would cause their guests. I called the hotel that the restaurant was located in and they told me they would relay my concerns to the restaurant. I haven't heard back. We ended up getting engaged (thankfully) but no other reservations were available anywhere else since it was a Saturday night.
Be the first to ReplyMediocre and costly.
The fish was surely not worth what you pay for it. And, all sides are additional. They were also out of their signature cocktail and glass, which was the main reason for our visit. But, we didn't find that out until after we ordered, as it was still listed on their menu. Get prepared to pay $20 for parking, even with a validation.

My son chose to Dine in at SEREA COASTAL CUISINE , it's a restaurant at HOTEL DEL CORONADO. We chose to be seated inside 'coz the weather was cold. The inside was simple, but there was plenty of space. Our server's name was Youssef, he came right away and was very polite. He handed us the menu and we ordered the following foods:*SEREA MEZE - Marinated Olives, Marcona Almonds, Olives, Hummus Tahini, Salsa matcha, Whipped Farmers Cheese, and Grilled Pita.* ROASTED HALF CHICKEN *GRILLED LAMB CHOP * CHICKEN KABOB *PEARL DIVER - White Chocolate shell, Apple Compote, Caramelized oats, and Toasted white chocolate mousse.*DEL SOL - Jalapeno infused asamigis blanco, Cointreu, Mango, Lime, Chamoy, and Tahin. For our appetizers we got the SEREA MEZE and I liked their Hummus Tahini the most. My son's Roasted half Chicken had a very nice and crispy skin, but the inside of the meats were soft and tasty. My husband's GRILLED LAMBCHOP was delicious, it was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. I loved my drink, it was very spicy and fruity. And the CHICKEN KABOB was the one I got 'coz I wanted to dip it into my Hummus, it did work well, but I couldn't find any uniques tastes in the Chicken Kabob without the Hummus I paired with it, it was just okay, it wasn't bad either. And about the dessert, when it came to our table it was beautiful !!! I thought the pearl inside was the only edible thing, but everything was Edible, the Shell was made of White Chocolate and it was so good, it was a STUNNING DESSERT !!!Also we have noticed all the staff here are nice, friendly, and work well together. We are happy with our Dinner and I am sure that we will be back to dine in here again at Serea Coastal 'coz we are always here in Hotel Del Coronado. There are Plenty of things to do after dining here, you can walk at the beautiful beach, explore more of the restaurants that they have, or go to the Shopping stores which are by the lower part of the Hotel, like below the the Check-in or main lobby Area, they have a floor just for Shopping stores. SEREA COASTAL CUISINE is definitely one of the good places to Dine in at CORONADO .
Be the first to ReplyDon't know where to start.
.. We had reservations at 6pm but arrived early. There were no tables available (due to the rain) but the manager (Chris) arranged for us to sit outside and have some cocktails. Even though it was an unusual situation, the way Chris handled it truly deserves a round of applause! Food and service (Brett was our host) were outstanding, but Chris did take hospitality to completely new level! Thank you for an amazing dinner!

We were met with a bad attitude from the moment we checked in. I'm sorry that the hostess are having a difficult day but she needs to be professional not rude and uneasy to deal with. Please don't forget that the customers pay the bills so appreciate us.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful place for a date.
Great food and service. Recommend the Fire Pits on the beach to round out a romantic evening.
