They offered us an excellent tilapia maitos, very good, just the entire Amazonian dish.
In Arano they offer us many traditional meals of all kinds of food to come and enjoy when you come with your family or visit us.
Be the first to ReplyDiscriminates against babies and young children
We made a reservation to celebrate mother's day across three generations. We sent an email to pre-order a duck and asked for a high chair for a toddler and we would bring an infant. Two minutes later, we received a phone call to say the restaurant was full and we were no longer allowed to come. Surely the restaurant will maintain this false alibi, but as a test we asked friends to book the same-sized table online and also on the phone. Both tables were booked and on the phone the same exact person confirmed immediate availability. It is a real shame as the food is quite good. We have done Chinese New Year here and birthdays here before. However, the front of house staff do absolutely no justice to the chefs. In Chinese culture we have round tables because families eat together. This restaurant, however, discriminates against babies and young children, and to have done this on mother's day is an absolute disgrace. Shame on you.

Don’t know how this has 4 stars. Tasteless and greasy. Very expensive. £22.80 for prawns which we pay £10 for at home and our £10 ones are far better. Left with our stomachs turning from all the grease. Staff were friendly and did knock the prawns off the bill but we didn’t eat much of anything and resented the fact this meal had cost us £140. The rose was nice but that’s about it.
Be the first to ReplyAppalling service. They take Deliveroo orders which they do not fulfill
This restaurant has the most appalling customer service. We have eaten here in person and experienced very slow service. And now for the second time we have ordered takeaway via Deliveroo and they have failed to deliver. The delivery time is now 3 hours on the app. It is disgraceful. There is no compensation and not even an apology.

I went for lunch with friends today. the restaurant was so busy and waiting for the tables but seems not enough staff on the floor. however staff are brilliant. when we got the table and order, one of staff who is very fashionable, wearing smart hat is very friendly and helpful us to choose the menu. just impressed, such a nice customer service and we enjoyed our lunch more. I recommend this restaurant with also nice food!

My wife and I dropped in for a late lunch on a Sunday. On making our way through the entrance towards the restaurant we were approached and asked if we had made a booking by a waiter (who later identified himself as the manager) holding a tray of dirty glasses. We explained that we did not. We were told to stand by the door and wait whilst a table was cleaned. We were then told to stand closer to the door, past the deserted bar entrance, and the manager then started to wash glasses whilst ignoring us for a few minutes. My wife asked how long we would need to wait and was told with real disdain that it would be 5-7 minutes because we had not booked. We could see empty tables in the distant interior. I asked whether the manager had actually asked someone to clear a table and he said we would just have to wait as we had not made a booking. His demeanour was deliberately rude. My wife very calmly challenged him on this asking if he could not even make eye contact as he flapped his hand at us to tell us we could go if we did not like that and talking over her, saying, again, that we could go then. So we walked two minutes around the corner to Westfields and had a lovely lunch with excellent service at a restaurant there. If the man we spoke to really was the manager he has a lot to learn about basic manners and hospitality. We certainly would never want to set foot in this restaurant again and cannot recommend that anyone do so. Shocking rudeness.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent authentic Chinese food
Went there last night as a convenient choice because we stayed in the Dorsett Hotel. The decor of the restaurant is modern and traditional, not like those typical cheesy restaurants in the China town with the old fashioned decor for the sake of it. The service was fast, the peking duck was tasty, we also ordered black pepper lobster which was super, the crab meat tofu served in bread was also highly recommended. The egg yolk rice crackers are more of a snack than a dish. We also ordered stir fried morning glory. The potion of all dishes are generous, the two of us couldn’t finish all these. Overall, a very enjoyable and satisfying meal. 👍
Be the first to ReplyDecent Chinese food, speedy service
We visited for dinner on a Saturday evening. The place was busy, but not full. It was assuring to see that many of the other diners were of Chinese origin. Our family of 4 ordered the salt and pepper prawns, a half roast duck, black pepper beef, sweet & sour chicken, morning glory, egg fried rice and some noodles. The food was decent throughout, and the signature roast duck was a highlight. Portion sizes were generous and we ended up packing some of the food to take home. Service was highly efficient. We asked for the food to be sent out as it was ready, and were surprised to receive our entire meal within 10 minutes! While this clearly meant a lot of food was pre-prepared (including the roast duck), this did not detract from our enjoyment of the meal. The bill for our sizeable dinner came to £220, of which £40 was spent on drinks. This did feel a bit pricey, but overall it was a solid meal. I live locally and would consider a repeat visit. NOTE: street parking nearby is for residents only between 6:30pm and 8pm, and available on pay by phone at all other times. We dined at 7pm so had to park at the W12 shopping mall which was a 10 min walk away.
Be the first to ReplyTerribly bad. Not to eat. Too expensive. Do not!!!
Food was dry and tasteless. Price is completely out of proportion to what you get. The two of us spent 180 euros for menu B. They make it seem like they have a Michelin star, but this was in 2020. Not recommended at all. If we would have paid half, it would actually have been too much.
Be the first to ReplyReally bad customer service.
2nd time I’ve eaten here whilst on business and it’s not any better. The barman/waiter is extremely rude. Food was nice enough. I got 15mins to eat it and then they turned the lights and air con off. They even asked me and another customer to pay whilst eating my food. Horrendous customer service. It’s a shame as they have lost my business and any corporate dinners I would have organised.
Be the first to Reply5 star prices, 1 star service
Expensive but service is appalling. Main course missing from delivery. They do not answer the phone or respond to e-mails. Just not worth spending your money somewhere that doesn't care about the customer.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
We visited the restaurant for dim sum, not having visited for the best part of 5 years The menu seems to have contracted and the prices have gone up considerably The quality of the food, once excellent, I now thought verged on the mediocore. This was also the view of family and friends who had always recommnded the restaurant to others based on past visits Service was good and it has a nice decor, but for what you are paying you deserve much better
Be the first to ReplyPoor service ruined 40th birthday celebrations
Ten of us visited Shikumen in Shepherd's Bush on 2 January 2023 to celebrate my daughter's 40th birthday. The service was incredibly slow. It was at least 20 minutes until someone appeared to take our drinks order. It then took another 15 minutes to let us know that they didn't have any large bottles of prosecco, only small ones costing £11.50 each. We asked if we could place our food order - this took another15 minutes. We asked for help with choice with the dim sum selection, as we weren't sure we had ordered sufficient. There wasn't much help forthcoming and we were told we could order more if we needed it. The food finally arrived and we ate it as it appeared. There was quite a wait until the dim sum arrived. And yes, we ended up having to order more as there wasn't enough. Another long wait... However, the food was very good and we couldn't fault it. We had asked if they would bring out the birthday cake we had provided at the end of the meal. This was a disaster and the whole surprise element was ruined. Such a shame. What should and could have been a fabulous 40th birthday celebration was ruined by appalling service. We will not return.
Be the first to ReplyAmazingly poor
Front of house is not existent - I called to say I was running 10 minutes late and was told I was going to have to wait for my 7.30pm table for “maybe around 30 minutes”. I was even more confused when told that because no one was there at 7.31pm my table was no longer available. Unfortunately I persisted and we arrived at the restaurant at 7.45pm. No one at reception, a barman who was triaging Deliveroo riders. 10 minutes later we found someone and were seated Very slow service with very confused waiters. No cocktails and frankly rude & disinterested service Good was good, but the atmosphere had killed the evening by then For the price you expect good food AND service Such a shame as this place could be a gem.
Be the first to ReplyNot a wow
There is nothing specific as a menu or the taste. It’s not a Wow to try to compare with the price. It doesn’t worth the price at all. This taste and the atmosphere are found in a general Chinese restaurant. The service was poor, we ordered the menu B. They served us the side dishes for Pékin duck first, which is the cup of leeks, cucumber and hoisin sauce, then the appetizer and the second dish at once, main course which included 1 veggies dish, 1 chicken dish and 1 beef dish. They served 2 of them first and the beef came so late. For it’s price 132£, I felt like being robbed
Be the first to ReplyRather tired
I was last here when it first opened about seven years ago. The place seems tired with the menu and the bill coming in folders that have seen better days. It is the detail that counts and this details suggests that care is not being taken. The food was nothing that you would not get from any family run suburban restaurant. The owners should consider where they want to go with this place.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Chinese restaurant!!
We came to Shikumen to meet with family and friends, and we had a great meal!! We tried not only the Peking Duck, the Dim Sums and other delicacies and everything was just amazing. Services was also very friendly and attentive!!
Be the first to ReplyNot great chinese
Timeout must be drunk to recommend this in their top 10 dim sum places. A rather dreary and rustic place. The chicken appetiser was rubbery and inedible. The dim sum and vegetables were ok
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food
Visited this place for dinner OMG is amazing. The food was exceptionally good , I can honestly say it was absolutely lovely probably one of the best I've tasted , definitely will be back.
Be the first to ReplyNice atmosphere but food was just average
This is a lovely restaurant which is nice for a special occasion but the menu is a bit hit and miss for vegetarians. There are some vegetarian dishes but seem like an afterthought.
Be the first to ReplyBest Peking duck
Visited a nice Chinese restaurant today, the food is delicious, my favorite is the Peking duck which is even better than the restaurant in China town. Strongly recommend. Great food, friendly service staff. Very pleasant night.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent for my 60th birthday
What a lovely find this restaurant was considering I don't live in London. I booked it for my 60th birthday and they couldn't do enough to make the day special. They helped me to select a lovely menu to suit all tastes and on the day the food was all freshly prepared arriving at our table all piping hot at a good interval. They staff served us with so much friendliness. It was all great value for money.
Be the first to ReplyGot served roasted pork FAT instead of roasted pork
Had a meal delivered and ordered a pricy premium Iberico roasted pork. It is to be expected to have a little fat on the side. However they sent me a portion of PORK FAT instead, with side of actual meat. Cleary this is a portion they couldn't dare to serve to a dine in client, so they likely pass it off on to the delivery food customers thinking they can get away with it. I showed a photo of my meal to the delivery company and received a full refund. I would never eat here again, who knows what other shortcuts they take in the kitchen.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic food!
Hidden away next to the Dorsett hotel, the geographical placement of this restaurant is of prime importance as its within the hustle & bustle of Shepherd’s Bush green.
Although there’s not much that grabs attention as you pass by outside ; entering the restaurant you’re welcomed by traditional music and red hanging lanterns which leads you into the main seating area.
The restaurant itself is on a larger scale but never thriving full which is great for families.
The floor staff are always friendly, somewhat available but not very attentive at times. There could be some room for improvement with additional staff training as we were waiting rather a significant time for drinks to be delivered & staggered starter dishes, so be prepared for the wait. However with such an extensive menu to choose from there are plenty of delicious dishes, so well worth the waiting time. The crispy shredded duck seems to be very popular and I would highly recommend.
The egg fried Rice was a perfect accompanying side dish.
I rated a 4 because the food was fantastic as usual and we shall be back! A must try if you’re in the area
Delicious food
Delicious food - we loved the dim sum (Shanghai dumplings, Cheung fun, Sichuan dumplings and prawn & chive) and the beef ho fun. The service could be improved - curt and not overly friendly. Ambience is a bit lacking and the dining room is quite dark.
