Yummy sea urchin feast
It was recommended by a close friend in Singapore to try this seafood restaurant with the reminder - portion is small , delectable and not many choices. Yet, we had one of the best dinner in our life.

This restaurant withTWO MICHELIN start is just undervalued. The quality of the food is above of every expectations...The best asian food i ever had and one of my best dinner ever.

It's a shame this Uni Temple closed in December. For years it was one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. My rating would've been 5 if it wasn't for my last visit which was a complete disappointment. Not on the food side but on the service side. True the food wasn't up to the regular standards it was good. Overall this was a very classic, product driven restaurant. Fresh ingredients paired perfectly. Soto will be sorely missed.
Be the first to ReplySo wonderful, I even enjoyed the eel!
Hidden, ever booked, and cozy, this chic restaurant is a must visit. The sushi here is unbelievably fresh, and well presented, though the omakase tasting menu is very very filling, so be prepared to leave with an expanded waistline. Try to book a seat at the sushi bar, if possible.
Be the first to ReplyGood food but poor service, will not return
This was our first visit to the restaurant and will certainly be our last even though they are closing on Dec 10. The food is actually quite good with good quality sashimi and sushi but the service was just unacceptable. We wanted to order our sashimi and starters first before hot food and sushi's but was told numerous times this is not how it works and I must order everything at once. Then I asked whether it is at least possible for the hot food come out after the sashimi but was told it was not within their control. After we had our sushi we wanted to order some additional sushi but was given attitude by the waitress who was in a bad mood the moment we walked in. She tried to dissuade us from ordering by saying it would take a very long time. After the meal she was keen to kick us out by hurrying us with ordering dessert or getting the bill even though there were other diners that came before us. There are so many good sushi restaurants in NYC and this is certainly no way to retain your customers. Call me traditional but when we walked in to the restaurant there was no traditional welcome by the chef or the staff and certainly no thank you when we got up to leave. Just not a very pleasant experience as the chef never took the time to make guests welcome even though we were sitting at the sushi counter. Finally, this restaurant also serve a lot of fusion creations which are good but definitely not something you would find in good sushi restaurant in Japan or even in NYC. Overall, quite disappointed.

If you are a fan of Uni you must go. The problem is that the restaurant permanently closes on December 10th. Everything was great! Only problem is that food takes a little while to prepare
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, long wait
The Uni dishes are amazing! Any thing in this restaurant is an outstanding experience for the palate. There is nothing else to add about the food. Service is slow, very slow. I went in at 6 pm left at 10. Go with time to wait. It is really good.
