Very Good Sushi Experience
The sushi experience is generally excellent here. Service is extremely attentive and professional from front to back. It is set up so guests can watch and speak to the sushi chefs if you want too. Also chef Lin will come by to see all guests. The presentation and quality is fantastic, but you do pay considerably for it. Chef Lin was a disciple of the chef and owner of Zen, but Zen, in my opinion delivers the same quality and consistency for less (which is why itโs not a five star rating). I remember specific sushi offerings from Zen but less so here. Overall: Recommended but more for special occasions.

I've heard a lot about this place and finally got to try it. One would have high expectation for charging $480 per head omakase sushi dinner. The experience is deeply disappointed. No good surprised in terms of food. Very ordinary sushi and fishes. There are many good sushi restaurant in toronto with much better food and value.. I did not get their chef owner Jackie Lin to serve me, and was served by a korean chef. His skill is really elementary. All in all, will not return. The bill came to $700 per person inc. tips.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my favorite restaurants in Toronto. High end sushi restaurant.
Visited Shoushin for dinner in August 2021. Shoushin recently resumed dine in service. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Toronto, serving high end sushi. I always choose omakase. Please be aware - if you are interested in ala carte, however, thatโs not available as an option. It takes about 1.5 - 2 hours to finish omakase, and Iโm always full afterward. Great restaurant for business dinner, date, or any special occasion. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyShoushin delivers!
After almost 6 weeks staying at home cooking or ordering fast food, we were going through omakase withdrawal. The solution was delivery from Shoushin. We placed our order by telephone and Shoushin delivered, literally and figuratively, on time the same day as promised. The sashimi was fresh and flavourful, the rice was perfectly cooked, and each creation was beautifully presented and delicious. Even the containers were tasteful and pleasing. This meal was excellent and we will do it again soon!

My boyfriend and I come to Shoushin for his birthday yearly. Shoushin is by far the best omakase we have ever experienced. The sushi is incredible delicious, tender and flavorful. The other dishes on the menu are creative and very enjoyable. The chefs are incredibly engaging and friendly- a truly unique experience! While the tasting menus are pricy, it is well worth it. We have had more expensive omakase that did not come close to comparison.

We came here to celebrate a work anniversary. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived and seated at the chefs table. We ordered the obsession perfection chefs tasting menu (over $400 per person). The menu is basically at the discretion of Chef Jackie. The food came and it was very fresh and delicious. At the end of the day this is something I would only do o. Special occasions but the food and service is top notch and I would recommend for those special occasions.

Visited Shoushin for dinner in September 2019. This is my โgo toโ sushi restaurant in Toronto. Itโs Omakase style, chefโs choice serving the best fish available on that day. We normally choose Sakura option, a few appetizers plus sushi. The Sauvignon Blanc by the glass was a perfect match for the sushi served. As always, impeccable service and cool decor, along with amazing food. Comparable to any top rated sushi restaurants in Japan.

Be the first to ReplyOutstanding sushi experience in Toronto
Visited Shoushin for dinner in April 2019. As always, Chef Jackie provided impeccable sushi. I tried Riesling this time, and it was very good fit to his sushi. Atmosphere, service, overall dinning experience - in my opinion, this is the best sushi restaurant in Toronto right now.

One of the best meals we've had, if not the best. Atmosphere, service (Alfred), food (Chef Jackie)... perfection. Top of the food chain for quality and taste, and price. If you can afford it, not to miss.

Visited Shoushin for dinner in March 2019. New appetizer menu for spring season. Liked everything served. Then great sushi served. NZL Riesling was a good match with fantastic sushi.
