Delicious Mediterranean food! and terrific service! We
Delicious Mediterranean food! and terrific service! We loved the shak-shak, chicken shawarma, fried halloumi, and baklava cinnamon bun! My personal must have is the fried halloumi! Our waiter was super helpful! and more than willing, to walk us through popular items, Definitely will be returning!
Be the first to ReplyWe loved this place - It was vegetarian-friendly.
The service was quick too. We got a table outside and even though it was a chilly evening the parklets were warm and cozy. We liked: - crispy baby artichokes - whipped feta - labneh - carrots we didn't like - falafel (over fried) but the sauce was great - manouche (spinach made it soggy) - cheese boureka We'll definitely be back to try the rest of the items.

Went here for lunch the other day, and as always Shuka delivers. Our favorites are the Mediterranean plate which has many strange little pickled root vegetables with of course, the customary falafel, humus , etc, and the Fattoush salad, which comes with cubes of deep fried halloumi. I'm personally not able to eat more than a couple cubes of the deep fry, but I noticed diners near us quite enjoying a full plate of these fried cubes, so that's definitely an option. It seems to be quite the date spot, we were surrounded by young couples, but be warned, it's loud and bustling, so not a quiet romantic vibe. Lots of egg dishes in the mains which we avoided but if you're in the shakshuka crowd there's lots of possibilities. It would be nice if they had something that was not egg based. They used to have an excellent maitake mushroom dish which they've done away with on the lunch menu. Oh well. Service, ambiance gets a tick from me.

Thoroughly enjoyed the flavors and colors and sophisticated vibe of this Mediterranean restaurant. We ordered a variety of the items and were very pleased with our selections, favorite being the roasted cauliflower with tahini and pistachios. Recommend.

Food was decent but I've called them 3 times this week and even spoke with the manager about getting my receipt. I was told it'll be sent next day but I still haven't received it and now it can't be expensed. Thanks Shuka!

The food is fantastic! Loved the labne and Mediterranean plate. The indoors are cozy and very tastefully, decorated. Love the frosted string lights. The staff was very attentive!

Shuka was #14 on "The 19 Best Healthy Restaurants in NYC" on cozymeal - Why did I choose this spot? I wanted flavor, rice, chicken, zero proof drinks, a nice ambiance, and easy get to. This was the only place that checked off every box. Flying solo, I sat at the bar. Guillermo, my bartender, was so lovely. The staff had such great relationships with each other. Working in foodservice for 14 years, you pay attention to much more than a non foodservice patron. This has now become one of my favorite restaurant. I got the Chicken Kabob and Mediterranean rice along with a non alcoholic golden ale. I highly recommend going to Shuka for a great experience.
Be the first to ReplyWow, just amazing.
5 couples in our early 40s, one local couple hosting 8 North Carolinians. This was the most amazing eastern Mediterranean food I've ever had. To make things easy with 10 different people, we ordered The Feast for our table and it was phenomenal. The servers were awesome, amazing service. The apps it came with were amazing... the beet hummus or dip was ridiculous. The pitas were awesome. The kebabs and everything, it was just perfect. This is not bland food for the masses, it is made and served with passion. Will definitely return!
Be the first to ReplyI am in LOVE.
Was able to grab a late dinner reservation here on a Saturday night. When you enter the ambiance immediately is cozy with intimate lighting. The interior is deceivingly large despite the outside appearance. They also have seating outside, but for the full experience would 1000% recommend making a reservation ahead of time. We had the fattoush salad which was perfectly well balanced. The fries were well seasoned and a great side to complement our other dishes. The star of the show was without a doubt the chicken shawarma. The flavor was perfect and it wasn't very greasy - can definitely taste the sumac, cinnamon, and other Mediterranean spices. Interestingly enough, the restaurant owner is Indonesian and Italian. She recently opened another restaurant and I am excited to try it out! Dinner at Shuka was such a wonderful experience. I can't wait to come back with friends!

Came here for late lunch, really gorgeous looking restaurant. Shuka is the sister restaurant Shukette (much harder to get rezzies at Shukette) so we wanted to check this out. We got seated immediately with last minute reservations. We ordered their whipped pistachio labneh and their hummus - both really good. The pita was light and fluffy. The falafel was so delicious as well - savory, crispy and light. We saved appetite for a large dessert - we ordered the turkish coffee ice cream and the olive oil cake. The turkish coffee was delicious- tasted really strong, the accompanying chocolate ganache was so good. The olive oil cake was good but not our favorite. Would love to come back to try out their other vegetarian options
Be the first to ReplyFantastic, quick service and delicious food.
Recommend ordering all of the mezze dishes and sharing them family style..,
Be the first to ReplyThe food was AMAZING here.
My friend and I ordered half the menu and genuinely loved every dish. Can't wait to take my family here when they come and visit me from out of town.
Be the first to ReplyI was really excited about Shuka after hearing great things
I was really excited about Shuka after hearing great things and unfortunately, I was extremely underwhelmed. I ordered a bursa cocktail which I was hoping would be a fun spin on an espresso martini since the menu described it as having turkish spices. What I received was just a regular espresso martini, not bad, but not standout either.I tried the chicken shawarma and again, it was good but nothing incredibly impressive. The pita was actually disappointing, the salad on the side was just fine.Wouldn't recommend making a special trip out to come here for dinner as there is much better mediterranean food in the area!

SOOO GOOD! Definitely recommend trying the appetizers and labne! I'm a huge fan of shakshuka so I knew I needed to try theirs once I saw it on the menu. I was extremely satisfied with the amount of spices in it. This is a great place to hang out with friends. It was really easy to get a reservation. Staff were attentive and nice! I would definitely come here again in the future.

Adore this place, I live in Chicago and this is my favorite restaurant in NYC. It's truly one of the few spots I have visited numerous times, despite the millions of other options. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and they are able to accommodate gluten-free dining for my SIL who has celiac disease. Last night was another wonderful experience at Shuka, our waiter Krishan (maybe it was Christian) was awesome! I appreciated how he marked the menu for my SIL, so she could pick things that were GF, he paced the meal-- but even stopped to ask how quickly we wanted the main course after apps. He was kind and attentive, despite how busy they were. Don't miss the kabobs, they are always juicy and perfectly cooked, but the mushroom main was also a wow! All we ask is for chef Ayesha to write a cookbook soon.

Outstanding food, drinks, ambiance and service! The fried halloumi, whipped feta, and crispy cauliflower were particular standouts. In terms of portions, we found 2 dips, 2 veggies, 2 meze and 2 kebabs to be more than enough food for 3 (very hungry) people. Cocktails were 10/10, especially the mezcal-based Beirut. Will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible service & food.
This is the first place that we visited on our trip to NYC, and we were SO impressed with the service. Everyone was just so kind! We ordered one kabob, falafel, and a dip for three people. It was the perfect amount of food. The sweet potato skordalia was our favorite thing that we ordered.

Crazy long wait time on Saturday - brunch ended up being at 3:30! They took us to the back seating area, which is quite lovely aesthetically (though uncomfortably hot as I was seated right against the radiator). Staff gave recommendations, but we ended up going with their classic shakshuka and the sampler. Everything tasted great, wish there was more pita to accompany the meal as the things we ate clearly needed a pita base. I honestly wouldn't wait so long again for it, but I'm glad I tried it once.
Be the first to Replyhighly recommended their entire menu.
eggplant dish was amazing and for brunch, loved the green shashuka. honestly, it's all so good. they don't cut any corners in their quality of ingredients.

My first brunch place in New York and it is a Mediterranean styled dishes. The atmosphere and staff was great. We made reservations ahead since the wait can be long deterring on time of day. The go food prices are low to mid.

Came here for a Sunday brunch with a reservation and were seated immediately. Here's what we got:Pomegranate Fizz - really great refreshing drink! Basically sparkling lemonade with pomegranate but I still enjoyed it Iced Moroccan Mint Tea - fair warning this comes completely unsweetened but it's a pretty standard mint tea Whipped Feta Dip - 10/10 would recommend! The cilantro and tangy feta went great with the crunchy salty pistachios Market Vegetables - this was forgettable. Basically raw veggies with a tahini sauce - not bad but we could've done without itFried halloumi - a must and eat it while it's hot! Can't go wrong with fried halloumi and the spicy yogurt sauce here is amazing!Shakshuka - got the spicy tomato shakshuka and was a little disappointed. It was really good don't get me wrong but it tasted more like a canned or jarred sauce than a fresh, well flavored sauceMalawach - this was incredible and super unique. The flakey bread paired great with the assortment of feta, sauces, and pouched eggs Chocolate Babka French Toast - the perfect sweet ending to a great meal! This is very decadent and heavy so I would recommend sharing but this was so good!Overall, a really cute spot for a Mediterranean brunch and I would recommend giving it a try!

Went here for a brunch and the food was great! Sat outside in the heated patio. Got the fried halloumi and the frittata. Would definitely recommend the fried halloumi, it was very tasty. The frittata was good but I probably would not get it again, because there are so many other things on the menu I would like to try!

We had the chickpea soup and it was wonderful. The outdoor space was a bit cold, so dress warm if it's chilly out

Never had a bad brunch here. No matter the season the Shuka is always good. Amazing bartenders and ambiance

Love this place! I've gone for dinner at the bar as well as dinner in the outdoor seating. I've tried various things on the menu and have liked every one. The service and quick and friendly. Really nice inside and the outdoor seating is on the better end of seating like it in the city. The crispy cauliflower is hands down my favorite, I could eat it endlessly. The swordfish kebab was great as well as the hummus and pita. I've tried two different bottles of wine here as well which have both been great. I would say I prefer sitting at the bar, the bartender was friendly and it's a more intimate feel.
